Accidentally aggro'd merchant, don't have bow to shoot at tail, what do I do?

You don't really NEED his tail do you?

Git gud, or just run past him. Your call.

You dont shoot at the tail and play the rest of the game without a guide you nigger.

run past him
>actually trying to get the Drake Sword

reset and get your brother to beat asylum demon for you again.

You could argue that he might wants to get the Drake Sword. It's a pretty stronk weapon for the early game.

Resetting is pretty trivial this early. Either that, or get the sin pardoned and come back later.

I honestly don't believe the Drake Sword is worth it if you're just going to spend 10 straight minutes spamming arrows.

wait behind the pillar on the side of the staircase
2hand and lightning resin
when it comes down, run to its right and spam attack on tail 2-4 hits and roll away to the bonfire
drake sword is good for the next 2-3 hours, then switch to anything else.

Kill merchant, acquire Uchigatana, slay foul beasts

How hard was that?

Is there actually any way to kill this thing with melee?

this guy knows whats up

this, the Uchi is so much better
>good scaling
>nice moveset
>bleed
>buffable

Wait for it to land, hit it till it dies

stuck at Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough, what do?

You don't need to pick up the Drake Sword. There are plenty of other good weapons out there but I think it's a good weapon for your first Dark Souls run. It's good damage output for early to mid game enemies and bosses.
You're right tho, he could just reset the game, not like there'll be any real progress lost.

You already know what you need to do.

You can close the distance really easily UNLESS you hit the ladder and unlock the shortcut from Undead Burg. I believe unlocking the shortcut significantly increases the aggro distance.

>Go upstairs onto the bridge.
>Wait against the wall and watch the dragon.
>When the dragon goes to move, buff your weapon with gold pine resin.
>Smack tail ~3 times and grab weapon.

You'll be a bit unco so you probably won't be able to run over to the bonfire in time, but you'll get the sword at least.

Literally why the fuck do people use drake sword?
If you want easy mode just restart the game a few times until the black knight halberd drops.
Its not even funny how much stronger bkh is compared to drakesword.

I grinded my ass off for good gear to beat them. But it made the rest of the game way too easy.

perhaps, but also keep in mind that the game post-O&S isn't nearly as hard as O&S are.

If O&S were a test to decide if the Chosen Undead is tough enough to collect the Lord Souls, it's a very good one, because they're way harder than everything past them (except dlc)

Individually, they're fairly easy to beat in the first stage. The vast, vast majority of people only find it difficult because you have to deal with two different targets at once.

it's not even that, it's that the two are designed to cover each other's weaknesses so efficiently. you have to proceed with extreme caution to not get flattened by one while punishing the other

...

Great Combustion and Power Within.

today i beat them solo for the first time. previously i beat them in one with 2 friends as a coop squad.

went in order of smough -> super ornstein. it's fairly simple to do this, because you have smough as a clear target with very weak self-defense, and you then only need pay careful attention to ornstein, and take note of when he is readying a sprint/lance/jump/lightning at you by keeping the camera trained on him at any second you can spare.

smough's attacks are immensely telegraphed and you should have no trouble learning the roll directions to avoid all of his damage.

use your intellect, evade their blows. use the stage to your advantage. put actual thought into what you're doing.

and remember, if you're going in with 4 or 9 estus, you're doing it wrong.
