Tfw we'll never get a MGS3 remake on the Fox Engine

I wish I lived in an universe where that happened.

It doesn't need to be remade.

It doesn't need to be remade, but it should be.

T-thunderbolt-sama...

Only games who present good ideas but were badly implemented ought to be remade.

Nahh, you're wrong

That's such a stupid assumption.

You are getting it, its just a slot machine exclusive.

>le remake meme

I wish people who bought remakes also got cancer

It's not using the Fox Engine though.

not a troll here
give me one (1) reason why you think MGS3 is the best of the series.
4 has better gameplay (more movement options, better cqc, no more "oh shit new area need to change camo" bs, arguably better grafix for it's time.
2 has better story and a cool twist.

so what did 3 do better?

mgs3 knew what it wanted to be and achieved it 100%

it also has the best secret theater

you literally cannot beat that

I wish I lived in a universe without tasteless teenagers whining for remakes.

Are any of you there? Can anyone watch this trailer without it be emotional?

REMAKE for REMAKE
SKULL for SKULL
&
PAIN for PAIN

Secret Theater is great. I enjoyed it on PS2 as well as the PS3 for the angle options.

But if they think it's the best Metal Gear game (which I don't; I like MG2, Ghost Babel, and MGS2 much more for various reasons), doesn't that make a remake all the more unnecessary?

I don't understand the appeal of a remake.

I'd rather get a finished MGSV OP

without the facebook real time bullshit and virtual currency

For me the only appeals for remakes is seeing the improved graphics and another reason to play the game. That's all it is for me.

The appeal of a remake is the easy money it makes.

Not having to desigh a new game saves a lot of time and effort.

Take Ready at dawn of example (developed the HD collections of a lot of games)

When they tried to make a game (The Rental 1866) they blew it. Remakes are the way to go for easy cash.

>tfw we'll never get a Peace Walker remake on the Fox Engine
I wish I lived in a universe where releasing level editing tools was still a thing.

There's no reason for it to be remade, it plays completely fine.

I want a remake of 4, only because of MGO2.
the reason behind it is that sometimes it can give another life to old game multiplayers by filling them again. or in this very case, by just having the servers not be closed.
god fucking damn it, I miss MGO2.

>implying better graphics and better engine wouldn't make it better
Making something better is totally a reason for something to be remade.

No need for a full remake, just a PC port.
No, I don't believe that will ever happen either, just sayan.

Isn't the game being good reason enough to play it? I'm not waiting for a remake of Tokyo Story to watch it again.
Better graphics and a better engine, ceteris paribus, could make a game better. Your mistake is assuming that all aspects of the original's game design are immediately reconcilable with the Fox Engine. Maybe I'm just not sure what your ideal MGS3 remake would be.

we're better off waiting for ps3 emulation to be honest.

My ideal MGS3 remake would be one that's better user. I'm not a game developer so I don't know what it needs.

My point is that if something can be made to be better then that's a perfectly legitimate reason to do so. Honestly, I don't see why you're opposed to that though I think you're making the mistake of assuming that people who say they want a remake have suddenly lost the ability to enjoy the original.

Yes, it is and so is a remake for me. Remakes give just another reason to play it again. For example, I love Beyond: Two Souls and after one play through I haven't played it again but knowing it's for PS4 is something to look forward to play it again and experience.

This makes me feel 1000 more than the actual game.
Fuck Konami and fuck Kojima.

Remake terrible games, not good ones.

I love the whole series but I admit it has faults. I just want to see young Wolf being trained dammit and everything alluded to in mgs1.

>wanting to play terrible games

In that universe you're complaining about the changes it made and wishing it never came out.

This game looks amazing. When is it going to be released?

this, fuck mgs3 its fine already, I need a MG1 remake.

That's the thing. People don't really think about what a remake would actually entail; they just get lost in whatever nebulous ideal they have in their heads. The clamor for a remake of a game like MGS3 is usually rooted in something pretty superficial.

I don't think MG1 really needs a remake either. Stupid shit like having to call Jennifer to pick up the rockets etc. aside, it remains a pretty good game.

A remake in the style of MG2/MGS1 with new spritework and balancing that ultimately remains fairly faithful to the original could be cool, but that's rarely what people mean when they suggest a remake for it.

It's not my job to think about what a remake would entail. Again, I'm saying that there are reasons for making a remake since you said that there are no reasons for it. I couldn't give a fuck if MGS3 gets remade, honestly.

It was done already

Best pacing, best boss fights, best ending

MGS4's gameplay/controls was the pinnacle of he series. Sure there wasnt much of it, but it was still the most satisfying. Fight me.

It doesn't need to be. The only MG that should be remade( because it's crap) is MG1.

I'm not saying it's your "job." I'm suggesting people probably don't want a remake as much as they think they do. Especially not a game they hold in high esteem or with great affection.

retard

>I'm not waiting for a remake of Tokyo Story to watch it again.
I don't even dislike the movie but why would you want to watch that specific movie again? I am curious, because I think it's a slightly boring and long-winded experience, thats only good one time. But I may have missed something.

Fucking Konami...

the sound design for weapons/footsteps were fucking great, you notice if you had played MGO2. Those M4 sounds were amazing

Suggest away.

>MG1
>crap
Nah. Rough around the edges at times, but far from crap.
MGS4's gameplay mostly contains all of the issues that MGS3's does, but with additions that make shooting your way through to victory easier than ever. The best thing I can say about MGS4 is that it streamlines some of MGS3's stupid shit, even if said stupid shit remains less than interesting to me. I love MGS3, but I think it steered the gameplay of the series in an inferior direction.

Best bossfights
Best level design
Best characters
Most personality
Best soundtrack

If Kojima ever gets the rights back.

...

all wrong

How did it all go so wrong? MGS V looked like a legit game of the decade leading up to the release. How did Kojima fuck it up so badly?

>inb4 kojimadrones say KOJIMA DINDU NUFFIN, HE A GUD BOI

Which one has the best boss fights?
Don't say 4, it was barely a fight

Open world for now reason, too many side ops, too much nothing
Should've been more linear. Not MGS4 linear, but not open world with nothing to do except for rescue soldier 45533

I sort of agree, but I think gameplay is fairly strong in all the games after first one. Just in different ways in each of them.

I don't think it was him fucking it up. I think it had to do with Konami. With all that the game is and knowing he wanted to do so much more with it than he already did which was great I think it was pressure of the budget. I really would have liked more cut scenes though.

Hearing the tapes is nice but it's not ultra convenient to get them to play sometimes.

How many remakes are actually better? There seems to be a lot of clamoring for remakes when most end up worse than the original.

1 and 2, the bosses in MGS3 felt pretty meh, especially the shagohod fights. I enjoyed the Ocelot battle though.

Nothing to fight.

If MGS4 had more gameplay sections, It would be in my top 3.(dumb story and all.)

>I may have missed something.
Probably.

Diff'rent strokes, though.

Open world allows you to not have a linear idea of how to penetrate. You can disable enemies from on angle, then the next with ultimately unlimited options on how to do it.

>Best level design
yes
>Best bossfights
>Best characters
>Most personality
>Best soundtrack
all objectively wrong in every regard

That's called a well-design level; see Camp Omega. Kojima fell for the open world meme and all we had to explore in Afghanistan and Africa was the same outposts and bases copy pasted.

Sure, but imo GZ did it better than TPP
I'd rather have 10 GZ sized areas that are all great instead of the 2 areas we got in TPP

>that ending
I still remember jumping off my seat and maximum hyping... fucking Kojimbo

Both were at wrong. Konami being a corporate it wanted to push the game out as fast as possible and cheaply, while Kojima wanted to make it "the biggest and most complex" game ever which obviously would take years upon years and loads of money. If Konami and Kojima would have compromised we would have gotten a lot better game than the halfbutchered version we got now.

Hmm. To be honest, when you mention Camp Omega I understand that argument a lot better now.
I think I would have enjoyed TPP if it had that idea or space of Camp Omega as well.
Reading the above user's comment I have to say I do agree on that now.

>Best bossfights
I thought mgs4 had better bosses.
>Best level design
agree
>Best characters
nah, MGS1 had much better characters with more development. The only characters MGS3 focuses on is snake, the boss and eva.
>Most personality
I would tie it with mgs2.
>Best soundtrack
mga4 blows it out of the water.
youtube.com/watch?v=_k3n5me4Rns

4, but only because of the RAY and Ocelot fights

...

youtube.com/watch?v=elMikUGFfqw
Just kill me now
Skullface was top tier in GZ and in TPP he's suddenly a cartoon villain with barely any screentime

3 is the most overrated Metal Gear game.

Tedious, but hardly a major issue.

MG1 is a good game. It has a lot of issues MG2 smoothed out, but it's a good game. A remake probably wouldn't do it justice by this point unless it was something like . A big bombastic remake in the Fox Engine or whatever would likely be utterly pointless.

In all honesty, if they made Act 3 a normal sneaking mission, put people in Act 4 and made Act 5 bigger than a single room, then it would be pretty GOAT

I don't think the first two acts are very good either, though.

Why doesn't notch just buy Konami and give control to Kojima? If I was as rich as him I'd do fun shit like that. Or at least buy the rights to Kojima's games.

How plausible is this?

>without it be emotional

is

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

an emotion

I'm not sure. I imagine if he ever has that in mind that he keeps that idea to himself but I wouldn't doubt him wanting those rights back and owning it. If he ever could afford to, no doubt he would.
Yes, yes.

the game would still be the same with a worse engine

Rather have MGS1 and 2 just to see more sexy Snake.

Or his and Raiden's girl butt with new graphics.

still miss all the shit from when we thought that head transplant doctor was just another kojima ruse

>it's easy to shoot through the game

Of course it is, at that point in snake's career he's arguably the best solder alive. He mops the floor with any of the younger foes he runs into, even the exo-suit wearing beasts. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should though. You're on a stealth mission.

Also, like another user said, the gunplay and sound are incredible in mgs4. The AK102 sounded so great, as did bullets hitting walls, wind, and footsteps. It made for a god tier mgo2 experience.

>the gunplay and sound are incredible
I think it's cool that kojimbles can go on and on about anti war stuff but he still thinks guns are fucking cool

>Just because you can, doesn't mean you should though. You're on a stealth mission.
What's your point? I'm saying the game is piss easy to sneak through because of various aspects of the game design and that getting caught carries little risk anyway because shooting through is a breeze. There's very little tension in sneaking.

That applies to every MGS

It applies to every MGS starting with MGS3, maybe. Otherwise, no.

The only mgs game that was difficult to sneak through was mgs1 without the radar. Ever since first person view was added any and all challenge was thrown out the window. You have -always- had to gimp your playstyle and make some rules for yourself to not breeze through each area. I thought mgs3 was easier just because the area are larger (easier tranq sniping) and the guards are more often alone.

>Ever since first person view was added any and all challenge was thrown out the window.
MGS2's level design actually does a pretty good job of curbing the effectiveness of first-person aiming. The level structures and denser enemy placement mean that lining up a shot requires a degree of risk, and even if you hit the target there's a chance a nearby enemy will notice him and either wake him up or call for backup. Yeah, the most effective way of taking out enemies in MGS2 remains getting headshots, but it's more demanding and getting caught carries a much higher risk. Even with first-person aiming it's probably the most demanding game in the series to sneak through. Ghost Babel maybe tops it on higher difficulties.

MGS3's openness, the addition of CQC, all the weapons, and the camo system make it so that the player can crawl through picking people off with relative impunity and with little care for exposure.

>MGS2 on EE

Is a nightmare? Yeah.

I love sneaking in MGS2 on higher difficulties but shit like Solidus's choke is too brutal for me above hard/very hard.

>Or his and Raiden's girl butt with new graphics.

It's strange how tastes mature with age. MGS2 came out when I was in high school and at that time I thought nothing of Raiden besides the initial disappointment that I'm not playing as Solid Snake, but then fast forward to me replaying MGS2 just a few years ago and I was really admiring Raiden's girly figure and wanting to fuck him.

>I thought mgs4 had better bosses
I loved MGS4, but you need to get outta town. The boss fights (aside from Liquid Ocelot and REX vs RAY) were the worst part of the game.

sadly Solidus's choke got nerfed on the HD version, but shit like the 25 rays make me want to kill myself

Raiden's big bubble butt and huge thighs are hot.
