Cuz they suck at games and arent careful
I've fixed your picture.
All of my deaths have been solely because I wasn't good enough.
The franchise is hard. Stop being stupid. If it isn't, then what is? As far as big names go, absolutely nothing.
Because normies who think rolling and fwapping at a giant hitbox is difficult.
Meanwhile I'm sure 90% of DS players wouldn't even be able to beat ninja gaiden black on hard or dmc4 on dmd.
>ninja gaiden black on hard or dmc4 on dmd.
even normal is alot harder
Most fans say the opposite, that the games aren't that difficult once you get a hang of the mechanics. And only DS2 really fucked me over with imput lag
What's the outstanding qualities of this game?
I wouldn't say there is anything outstanding, but the boss lineup is very good.
>The franchise is hard
No it isn't you stupid faggot. If the games were more responsive and the glitches fixed, people would die way less. The game is only "hard" because the controls are shit and its riddled with glitches.
Actually it's more 3/4 fuck ups 1/4 input delay/queuing. Achieve proficiency.
What glitches? I have never once in my 500+ hour died from a glitch.
Judging by the fact that you think the contols are unresponsive I'm betting you never really played all that far and learned that the entire damn point of the combat is that every single action you do you have to commit to or get fucked.
I've played all of them sans DaS3. Bloodborne in particular lately. There's a ton of input lag on the circle button an R1 and if you can't discern this then you're retarded.
I have never experienced a single glitch in the entire series that I wasn't exploiting on purpose.
Are you playing on some ancient TV or something?
Fresh meme, user.
40 inch Samsung 1080p 60hz tv from 2014.
So no.
It's not the TV you dunce, it's the game.
you fucking what? it's got to be your monitor or tv. I have seen the most asinine untrue complaints about the series, but not even the dankest of shitposters has ever complained about input lag.
How the hell does only 2 actions have input lag and not every actions? Makes no sense.
Naf mate its seriously just you
oh, I get it, you don't understand startup animations.
The soundtrack

>60Hz Samshit
There's your problem
Those are the two most important button actions when fighting, why do you think there's more input lag there than on others?
There isn't the same issue on the x button of the square button.
Not him, input delay and queuing have been around since Demon's Souls bros. Nothing to do with the animation, there is a noticeable delay between pressing the button and an attack or roll/step coming out. You just have to pay attention to notice the delay, but testing the queuing is simple, roll and see how early you can hit attack and still get a roll attack.
>this complete non-argument
I know what start-up animations are you dumb fucker. That's basically irrelevant when dodging.
Are you seriously acting like the Souls series doesn't have input lag? Have you never played or even paid attention to the games?
Whenever someone complains about the controls you know they are that shitter that didn't make it 30 minutes into the game. The controls are fine, you are just bad.
I don't know. Because it makes no sense.
Input lag is between hardware and the game, not programming.
The only way it makes sense is for latency issues. But I don't see why that would affect only two actions and not others.
3 characters totaling over 300h in Bloodborne alone.
>le 30 minutes meme
Kill yourself you stupid fucker.
Deliberate input lag is a thing and can be programmed into the game. Are you new? For example, Guerrilla Games deliberately made there be a lot of input lag in both movement and aiming in Killzone 2 in order to give a game a "heavy" feeling.
it's ability to stroke the cock of DaS1fags
Then it's not input lag. It's just inputs.
OP... I have bad news.
Those other two thirds you described? Pretty sure those are your fault too. Glitches, whatever but "input lag"? Are you playing on a fucking toaster? I played all of them on PSWhatever and never had input lag get me killed. It was always a bad read or bad reflexes. What the fuck even is "phantom damage?" Stop making shit up.
Input delay is a better term. There's a noticable time between when you press the button and when the action begins, and when you're trying to dodge well the combination of that and the input queuing can fuck you over in ways it really shouldn't in this kind of game. The animations already feel great and heavy, there doesn't need to be an arbitrary delay getting in the way.
Well the developers obviously felt otherwise.
no game is without glitches. Guess your just lucky but I've fallen through the map a few times. it rarely happens so it's inconsequential anyway.
I have experienced a few glitches. Just none that have killed me.
Wasn't the falling thought floor a common error when you unlocked the FPS of DS1?
It's possible for them to be wrong and make mistakes or simply not know it's a big problem because people don't let them know or they haven't tested it fully. See; DS1 Poise, DS2 Soul Memory, BB loadtimes burning into people's TVs, Magic being op in almost every game, and many more.
I've had a bunch of glitches get me killed in Bloodborne lately.
>fighting Blood-Letting Beast
>it does dodge animatin between legs
>be nowhere near grab animation
>get grabbed anyway and die
>fighting ludwig
>he does that overhead fly-swat attack first thing
>dodge it completely
>still take damage and die
>in chalice dungeons
>FPS drops to 5
>get killed by those centipede flower things immediately
>it's intentional so it can't be bad
Are you dumb? Someone can design something bad on purpose but that still makes it bad. IT being there intentionally doesn't mean it's inherently good.
>dodge animatin between legs
I meant grab animation.
Across 5 games, on different engines?
I mean, I know From isn't exactly the best at making games, but come on. I don't think they are that incompetent.
It's entirely possible that they do it on purpose to make the game seem harder than it really could be.
>implying ornstein's dash attack in DS1 wasn't completely fucking broken because of its improper movement and glitches.
Yeah but the first 2-3 games all used the same engine. DaS3 and BB use the same engine as well.
>>FPS drops to 5
Fucking horse shit. Now I know you're lying.
Why would they change it if no one brings it up? Every game's had it's own share of problems, things that they clearly should have known about looking at them. Framerate is the favourite one people like to talk about. Also I don't think the engines are quite so different. As far as I know DS3 was mainly built off of DS1, with some stuff reused from BB.
One engine for DeS.
Another for DaS
Another for DaS2.
Another for Bloodborne and DaS3.
At least as far as I'm aware.
Because they would intentionally have to add it unless they managed to copy paste the code.
every souls thread ever
>this game is way too hard to be fun its stupid
>lol fucking pussy its not even hard bitch git gud i no damage run'd it in 2 days
>this game isnt as hard asall the memes claimed and had little else to over whats the deal
>lying bitch these games are super hard but honest about it i bet you never evne actually played it, probably used drake sword faggot do a REAL run where you gimp yourself intentionally!
make up your minds souls fags
DeS/DaS didn't use the same engine? Source?
You are not welcome on Sup Forums, DSP.
See
It could be a design choice.
I can prove it because I saved the video, but I don't know how to make webm's. Is there a converter online that works well?
it's not a meme.
Lore aside, it's pretty bad compared to the others.
>g-g-glitches
>i-i-input lag
Being so butt hurt by a game you fabricate excuses to explain away your lack of skill.
Stop panic rolling and get your life together, you shitter. You're not filling anyone.
Like I said, the game was built off of DS1 as far as I know, many of the weapons and animations are taken straight from it. If they were copy pasting the code (which is perfectly fine really as far as the main systems go since for the most part if it ain't broke) then they would have brought the delay and queuing along with it, since they have been in the series since Demon's Souls.
Your Sup Forums reputation has been increased by 3 points!
Best boss lineup, even the worst boss fights still have something interesting in them.
No one that actually plays the games think they're hard. They're just extremely punishing. If you do happen to fuck up then it sends you back, no mulligans.
Oh. Sorry. They might be the same.
It was thought DeS used Sony's PhyreEngine and DaS an in house engine, but a few months a developer came out and said it wasn't using Phyre.
All games using same engine
Not according to From.
Nah you've got it all wrong. 80% of your deaths will be from falling and the other 20% will be from counter damage when you roll incorrectly.
Don't you have any spacial awareness or something?
Only like 5% of my deaths are falls.
lol op sux and thinks it's the game's fault
kek true
The first two were your fault too.
...
I always hated the button input delay. I understand that they're trying to make it so that making mistakes/button mashing should be punished and all, but it also lessens combat effectiveness. Shit changes all the time when you're fighting, and depending on what you and your opponent are doing, you may need to change your mind in a blink of an eye, and you can't fucking do that if you had your previous button 'queue' set up during a long animation.
Then don't queue it?
It gets even worse when you try to use it yourself and it randomly decides not to queue your action, so you sit there doing nothing and get hit.
Souls games aren't really that hard. It's far from an easy series and you are going to die alot but compared to something like Ninja Gaiden Black or DMC 3 on dmd it's fairly soft. Dark Souls is more of a game about patience and knowledge than reflexes and skill.
That said I find the Souls games terribly unfair, and it's at its peak in Dark Souls 3, the whole game is basically full of dirty tricks meant to waste the players time, lot of them relying on surprise or straight out cheating like the prison guardians in "not Latria" dungeon.
How about removing the queue instead?
/3 of your deaths will be because of glitches and input lag
/3 of your deaths will be from phantom damage
Here's your hard-earned (You).
>souls series isn't popular yet, universally
Praised across Sup Forums for being tough and really good
>dark souls gains popularity, Sup Forums says it isn't hard anymore, a lot of people say it's a bad game suddenly
Have you guys ever thought the games are hard but because it isn't your first souls game anymore? It's hard you're just used to it
40% Gravity
40% Strong boss attacks
20% "normal deaths"
PVP? Not even once
Because that is the entire point of the combat? You have commit to every attack. Learning when to commit is learning how to play Souls.
I always seen Souls combat as a very fast paced form of turn based combat because of it.
The bosses are interesting and have nice art design. Other than that it's the worst game of the 5.
Wow it's almost like different people have different opinions or something.
>durr le bait
>faggot doesn't read the thread.
Removing the input queue doesn't remove any of the commitment to attacks. The animations, damage and stamina already encourage that in spades, far more than the queuing system does. The queuing system just removes agency in high pressure situations where you should be allowed to make a decision and be punished or rewarded accordingly. Instead you're generally punished because of actions you considered two seconds ago when you were already punished for those if they were incorrect, or rewarded if they were correct.
I can't help but feel that every OST in DS3 sounds the same, except maybe Soul of Cinder because dude Gwyn lmao
I can hardly tell them apart
heres your reply
But Bloodborne has much better boss line-up. Add to it fresh setting and gameplay. Most of DS3 bosses are basically BB's ideas (multiple phases, chaning music) + gimmicks + old setting that really got boring.
Normie memes.
I played only Demon's Souls, it was hard the first day our because it was something new for me and I haven't grasped all mechanics. Steam rolled all archdemons after I got gut.
>Bloodborne Bosses
>gimmicks
The only gimmick boss in BB is Micolash and his fitness training session.
butthurt soulsfags spotted
I said DS3 made BB bos mechanics and slapped retarded gimmicks and le ebin references on top of it.
>This retard again
There's no reasoning with him, don't bother, fellas.
Gundyr alone is better than half the bosses in Bloodborne.
>Not understanding that this is the way video games are supposed to be
You didn't start playing vidya until 2007 did you?
And Orphan Of Kos together with Gehrman are objectively best Souls bosses so far, so what? And I#m not even sonypony, played DeS and BB only after DS3 (got PS4 on Amazon Prime Deals for cheap instead of being pitiful neverever).
>chaning music
You mean Chanting? Bloodborne's OST having chants isn't unique at all. That has been a thing since Demon's Souls.
>gimmicks
None of the bosses in Bloodborne have Gimmicks, I think you mean Demon's Souls if you try to actually use that argument.
>old setting that really got boring
It's a direct sequel to the first game, why would it not use the same setting? Also how is that something from Bloodborne?
Who are you? Why do you say there's no reasoning with me when I'm talking in a perfectly reasonable manner? Where's the attempted reasoning from you? Have you just given up because you think I'm right but don't want to admit it? I don't mind actually discussing things, don't just stop, come on make your point if you have one.
>get btfo
>"h-heh, you're just fucking stupid man"
Nice Damage Control.
I'd say git gud but I've been killed way too many times through fucking walls because TO THIS DAY FROM CAN'T FIGURE OUT COLLISION WHEN AN ENEMY ATTACK STARTS
>1/3 of your deaths will be because of glitches and input lag
Nope. You're a whiny little bitch who sucks at video games.
>Orphan
Sure
>Gehrman
Gehrman isn't a bad boss, but he really isn't that good either. The only thing that makes his boss fight stand out is the music. Even then, the music on its own isn't even that good. It's only nice when tied along side with the fight. Gehrman as a boss really isn't that good. Extremely slow, easily parried, and can be partially stunlocked until phase 3. All his attacks can be easily dodged just by quick stepping backwards or to the side.
>that one attack where he tries pulling the hunter in
dodge backwards to go through it
>that one jump attack with the scythe
dodge into it at any point
>that one flurry attack where the burial blade is in short sword mode
Dodge backwards or shoot hi at any point to parry him
>that one attack where he jumps into the air and swings the burial blade
wait one second then jump backwards
The entire fight is basically like that. The worst part about the gehrman fight is the player doesn't really need to stay on their toes because unlike other bosses where the boss will change its attack half way through, or continue a combo, based on player input, Gehrman just does all his combo's in one go. He's basically braindead in his reactivity and that just makes the fight even easier. It's not like how Orphan will change or continue combos based on player distance and player input.
Are you going to pretend like phantom damage and input delay doesn't get people killed in these games?
>user in charge of reading comprehension
It's hard to comprehend a sentence so poorly put together, like that one. Maybe fix it up next time and people won't have an issue discerning what the hell you're talking about.
