This game wasn't bad, but it certainly was dissapointing as fuck, at least with Arkham Origins we never expected much, but this... Many people, including me, thought this game could end up being the best game of last year, but it ended up being mediocre and generic, how could Rocksteady fall so hard, Sup Forums?
And I'm not even going to bring up the DLC scam.
Juan Adams
It's mediocre and generic but not bad?
Mason Wilson
If Origins were not game but big dlc it would be very nice. I've not played Knight? Why is it bad? How about bosses?
Leo Moore
Not as bad as Arkham Origins I guess, but still pretty bad.
David Morris
I stopped playing about an hour in because it was tedious travelling and being a tank. I had no interest in that at all. I live Asylum, but none if the sequels hit the spot.
Jeremiah Gutierrez
They focus too much on the batmobile, and it's not fun at all, most bosses are boring as fuck, with 3 of them you have to fight in the batmobile (with Deathstroke being one of these), final boss is a stealth section, coming to think of it I don't think this game had any memorable boss fights.
Chase Perry
Too much damn batmobile. Not saying including the bat-mobile is a bad thing but they over emphasized it.. Also no bos fights. I mean sure Arkham games had asy bosses in them but they atleast existed past tank battles
Evan Reed
Disappointing how exactly?
I really enjoyed City and Asylum. They weren't anything special, but l liked the fighting, even though it consisted of mashing two buttons.
I never finished Origins because it had a weak story and all the sidequests were kind of same-ish, but it was still pretty decent.
Austin Edwards
No, fuck all of you. This game is amazing. I loved basically everything about it.
Hunter Morales
t. Rocksteady shill
Juan Thomas
I don't understand this meme.
Elijah Ward
I was probably one of the few people who really liked the batmobile segments. Besides the ending, my only complaint was how predicable the identity of the arkham knight was.
Joseph Cox
>batmobile is trapped in the gas and ruined
Oh cool things are looking up
>Batman: I am going to venture into the gas to save the batmobile
why
Zachary Anderson
Well I thought it was good
Joseph Fisher
>my only complaint was how predicable the identity of the arkham knight was
It was quite obvious, when the fucking game was announced most people had already put 2 and 2 together and realized it could only be Jason Todd, what threw off most people was that interview with the WB guy saying that the Arkham Knight was an OC donut steel character, created especially for the game and wasn't an existing character prior to that point, which was kinda stupid since the Arkham Knight was literally just the Red Hood with a different costume.
Nathaniel Campbell
>lamest villain ever >Troy Baker now has voiced every Robin and Two Face and Joker >DLC is horrible and sleazy >Game is like 80+GBs on PS4 >Story ends up being lame and Scarecrow horrible under-utilized >Breaking Bad guy voicing Gordon didn't seem to give a fuck
But everything with Joker and Batman's inner demons was done really well and the beginning and ending was nice.
I like it and I don't, but I think the goods outweigh the bads. I do think however that the Arkham series should be done as it's too played out now. I'm always up for more Kevin Conroy though so...
Michael Walker
>you can't free roam as Catwoman
Literally why? It was my favourite part if City
Leo Martinez
There where two things that where disappointing about Arkham Knight, the Batmobile and the Arkham Knight himself. The former was forced into situations that where just dull while the ladder was just a wasted opportunity that bordered on outright lying to the players. Everything else I would say was pretty great, even the DLC which did feel scammy with the trial missions and costumes, was worth it. In particular the Batgirl stuff, granted that's just me hating Oracle in general.
Parker Barnes
Holy fuck I hated how they handled Scarecrow so fucking much, it was literally the only villain who needed a boss fight, and we didn't get one.
Connor Morris
The DLC itself wasn't bad, what was bad about it was the amount of money they were charing for a pack of missions that would last 10, 15 minutes at best.
Kayden Sanders
Agreed, so now that we have shit on the worst parts of City, what do you think was your favorite part? Mine where the Bank heists and the final mission.
Nolan Ortiz
optimized batman cyber punk game when?
Eli Bailey
When we get a good Superman game.
Benjamin Williams
its ok but doing riddler trophies put me to sleep and i havent touched the game in months
Luis Moore
Holy shit, the way they fucked up Scarecrow still makes me angry.
I have no fucking doubt there was supposed to be another fucking section of the game that got completely cut, because that shit was unreal.
Scarecrow came off as just embarrassingly incompetent and completely buttmad that Batman systematically ruined each of his plans by pretending he wanted Batman to ruin his toxin and shit.
The whole fucking plot was absolutely garbage.
Not to mention the DLC is literally just all the side missions they took from the game.
Connor Wilson
why do all the great looking games end up being mediocre
Carson Davis
Money and time where more spent on making it look good but actual gameplay development was put on the backburner. In this specific case, it was also to show off new NVIDIA hardware and software but we all know how much of a flop that turned out to be.
Jace Mitchell
What we got >A terribly-written story >Godawful Bat Tank gameplay >Underutilized villains
What we wanted >Satisfying conclusions to the story >Driveable Bat MOBILE >Playable Robin/Nightwing/Catwoman in freeroam and missions >Excellent use of the rogue's gallery in the main story and side missions
Kevin Young
I liked it but what the fuck happened to the boss fights. Especially after all the great ones in Origins.
Oh and that ending was very not satisfying.
What's Arkham VR anyway? New game? Port?
Samuel Ramirez
>What's Arkham VR anyway? New game? Port?
How the fuck are we supposed to know?
Christopher Moore
I haven't been keeping up with videajams lately and I wasn't sure how much info has been released about it
William Lopez
I bought it on sale for $40 with the season pass included. The Bat Tank wasn't that bad but there's no way in hell nobody figured out that Arkham Knight was Jason Todd. There was only a token attempt to disguise the voice.
Michael Russell
The bat tank shit is really the thing that blows my mind.
I don't even know how that shit got greenlit. The whole fucking point of the batmobile is the abilty to go fast and rekt shit. They took that completely away.
Hunter Wilson
>Autists acting as if we didn't get a Batmobile that went fast as fuck as well as a Battank
Landon Sanders
You barely got to use it as a fucking car you sperg.
Colton Campbell
>Can literally use it at any point in the city
okay user
Blake Wood
> Arkham Knight >Thought he was going to be some cool and collected anti-Batman >Thought he would be able to easily beat Batman's basic tactics without much effort >Ends up being some whiny little shit through the whole game >His thugs barely have anything above what we faced in previous games >Builds a giant army to wants to kill Batman the entire time, suddenly he drops it at the end of the game for no reason
>"Here's our brand new character The Arkham Knight, he's goi-" "It's Jason Todd" "N-no, he a brand new character! I-it's different!" >"SURPRISE, I BET YOU NEVER GUESSED WHO IT WAS UNTIL NOW!"
Sebastian Collins
I mean during actually missions you tard. Also, it defeats the point when fucking maxed grappel gliding can get you around town faster than your fucking rocket car.
Benjamin Robinson
>Moving the goalposts
Nathan Walker
The Batmobile should be weaved into the main story as a tool for chasing villains, reaching areas quickly, or rushing people back to GCPD. It should be a vehicle and feel like a fast car.
Using it as an omni-directional tank was a massive mistake and just wasted everyone's time. No one with taste like the tank fights, but people did like driving it fast and chasing down vehicles.
Ayden Young
A mediocre and generic game is something like Call of Duty. Made by competent people that just don't give a fuck about making a good game.
Joshua Jackson
I thought the game was pretty cool. Far too much batmobile though. Got.it for about £6 on ps4 so desu it was definitely worth it. Is the dlc that adds killer Croc, Mr freeze and the other 2 any good?
William Wright
There is a serious dearth of hand to hand combat in this game, which was really disappointing.
The militia was never a threat, just targets to shoot at for the most part.
Noah King
You mean Arkham Beyond
Kevin Myers
Basically, we needed more pursuit missions, preferably integrated into the story. The firefly and APC missions weren't bad
William King
I don't know if its genius or fucking retarded that they managed to integrate Batman stealth into the Battank sections
Aaron Wilson
>Is the dlc that adds killer Croc, Mr freeze and the other 2 any good?
It's decent, but not worth the asking price, too short.
Henry Baker
I played this game a month ago and loved it because I went into it expecting shit from all that I heard of it.
I fucking love it
Luke Russell
All the Arkham games are good, including Origins.
Zachary Williams
Origins is the Dark Souls II of the Arkham series, not bad on it's own but comparing to the other games it really is dissapointing.
Wyatt Mitchell
>that scene where you play as the joker and literally murder an entire room full of people
Not as good as City or Asylum but it still had its moments
