>Remember that Metroid Prime Blastball demo came out a couple of days ago. >Decide to get it. >Plays exactly like Metroid Prime, maybe even a bit faster. >Got used to the controls and realise it is a very fun game.
Honestly, if the campaign is good, then it will be a very solid game, deserving of being a spin-off Metroid game. I would put it on the same level as Prime Hunters at this point, but if the single player is long and varied, then it would be a better game even if I enjoyed aiming with the stylus.
But really, why do people bitch about Hunters' controls, but anyways, so far I enjoy the controls and such of Federation Force/Blast Ball.
Lincoln Martinez
So, huh, no one else is playing it?
Josiah Lewis
Played a few games, it's alright. Full game might be fun.
Eli Smith
Do you know why the servers are down?
Christopher Jones
Also I like that when you lock on enemies, you actually need to aim to hit them. It's not like in the Prime Trilogy, where your shots are way more precise.
It makes you feel like you're not as capable as Samus, which is great.
Zachary Mitchell
Then why even have a lock-on?
Lincoln Powell
It does lock on and you don't need to aim if the enemy is standing still. But if it is running, then you lock on but you need to aim a little bit further away so you can hit him.
Also, you can headshot them this way and that will make them die faster.
Levi Wood
Is this one of those bullshit limited try demoes? Might give it a download and see if it it isn't one of those.
>tfw demos are limited now
Carter Miller
Just checked it out and it surprisingly isn't a limited try demo.
Brayden Nelson
It plays like an ok bargain bin game. I wouldn't spend full price for it, maybe 15-20$. Sort of like Codename STEAM. It's not total shit, but it's not worth a full game.
It's technically free access to the Blast Ball segment of the game, isn't it?
Luke Bell
>It plays like an ok bargain bin game. It plays like Metroid Prime, I don't know why you guys keep saying that when it's the same feel and control scheme. Sometimes, I'm worried that you people have the same memetic responses created over months and months of the same threads, especially when someone posts a different view of the same thing.
Aiden Martinez
No idea why you're asking me.
Nathan Smith
Pretty sure I had dual analog or pointer controls for Prime, fuck Hunters.
Nathaniel Foster
Totally right, I forgot control scheme is literally the only thing that matters in a game and nothing else. Totally true, sweetie.
Nolan Bell
I dislike the Blast Ball stuff since it feels like you're never moving the stupid ball despite being the only one shooting it and there's that full-team eject skill which is utter nonsense. However, the training was okay and while I'll probably wait for a price drop it might end up okay. I'm still not happy about some things though, Hunters controls scheme would be better since actually moving around without lock on feels extremely wonky and while the gyroscope aiming is always good it still feels less accurate than stylus aiming was in Hunters.
Ryan Ramirez
I love my 3DS but this game looks like shit to me. Sorry senpai, I will not be buying this game when it come out.
Asher Howard
From what I understand, the game is pretty long. Twenty Two missions, although I'm unsure if there's any real reason to replay them.
They really need to make a direct about the game, because I feel like there's still a whole lot we don't know about it.
Eli Rivera
>although I'm unsure if there's any real reason to replay them. There's permanent unlockable power ups that seem to be hidden throughout the stages that essentially work like perks from CoD, but only one person in the stage can grab them. Not sure if they're randomized or not either. Plus since there's skin unlocks they'll probably have an achievement system or something.
Caleb Phillips
Oh, so likely much more replay value than your standard shooter then.
Honestly, the whole concept of the multiplayer sounds fantastic. Having these different weapons and healing each other seems like a fresh take on the genre. There's no fucking auto heal, that alone makes it much better than most modern shooters.
Adrian James
So is this image a corrupted Samus?
William Roberts
>It plays like Metroid Prime So in other words, it's slow, boring, the combat is dull, and the platforming is crap like every other Prime game?
Michael Thomas
in case no one knows, if you play the practice mode over and over, you unlock the training mission for campaign
Cooper Walker
I'll try it out tomorrow. I wasn't a big fan of Hunters, though.
Owen King
Well yeah.
Gabriel Robinson
>looks well try the demo then.
Wyatt Cook
>defending shit gameplay
Eli Anderson
It's not shit, it's just a different approach. It was a necessity in the first two Metroid prime games because the games lacked dual analogues and a free aim mode. But now? It would make the game way too easy.
Chase Torres
Regular 3ds users lack the dual stick aiming system as well so now you have gameplay that makes the game significantly harder for those users for no reason just to try and promote n3ds sales. It's disgusting and you're disgusting for supporting this design choice
Dominic Mitchell
I don't have a new 3DS, but what the normal 3DS have is gyro controls which are functional.
I don't know why you're so sensitive about a game that plays alright.
Joshua Cook
When has Metroid Prime gameplay not been shit? The only thing good about the Prime games were the lore, exploration, boss fights, and music.
Isaiah Martin
In the Trilogy. It felt so good to aim.
Jayden Walker
...
Luke Turner
Hehe.
Jeremiah Collins
Still didn't fix the unfun combat.
Carson Cooper
What part of the combat wasn't fun? Having to dodge around like a madman with dashes and avoid shots while dealing with 3+ enemies at a time that were all attacking you on top of managing the best weapon for the situation? You could argue that the bosses got tedious due to how they worked and I'd agree, but when actually fighting stuff it was pretty fun. Until you enter a room and you get shield Pirates like in 3 or Chozo Guardian Ghosts in 1.
Noah Turner
Enemies just weren't fun the fight. Comparing Prime with Halo, fighting the Covenant is fun as hell because of their movements, tactics, and strategies. Plus they were just fun to shoot. With Space Pirates I just shot them until they died.
