Smart post bankruptcy business ventures and the slow but sure overtaking done by genuine classic Sega fans within the company is my best guess.
If they play it smart, they might restore some of their past glory and become contenders again. If not, well, they still have Football Manager, Total War and Warhammer to fall back on, not to mention Atlus.
miku
they established themselves as a video game company when they had the balls to take on nintendo in their prime
Sonic and Miku
did they fug?
they allowed this type of serious autistic fans
Alien Isolation, thats pretty much it. Oh and their version of Robocop vs Terminator was superior.
Nothing
>PSO2 still MIA with no news, JP version is fucking boring as hell anyway
Nah, she fugged Luigi tho
This pretty much and buying atlus
Sega Saturn has good games.
Still no Virtua Fighter 6.

What went right is when they had a lot of IP's to work with... 20 years ago. RIP Shining Force.
I can't stop thinking that inside that suit there probably is a man, and he's sweating, his feet hurt, his pay is low and he's not smiling at all.
They're still making shining games though.
I'm talking about the one under Camelot. The newer ones don't even resemble the early ones at all, and I refuse to associate the two together.
SF games were just a casual ripoff of Fire Emblem, anyways...

Only better, anyway let's be honest, probably you never heard about Fire Emblem until the GBA games
stop, i can only get so erect
Alien: Isolation
Total Warhammer
Dawn of War 3
Shenmue 3 (that is, allowing Yu Suzuki to open a kickstarter)
Sonic Generations
Sonic Mania
Sonic All-Stars racing
The Sonic Boom cartoon
Sega Genesis Classics ecosystem
Yakuza English releases
They've had a lot of cock ups in between, the biggest of which being Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, but they at least seem to be somewhat on the mend, especially in the PC gaming scene. They should really look into licensing out some more of their classic IP to smaller studios. I would love to see a Metroidvania-style Altered Beast game.
>I would love to see a Metroidvania-style Altered Beast game.
That would be neat, but I kind of see it more as a Platinum made God Hand clone/successor.
They did do a DMC-style action game on the PS2 but unfortunately it kind of sucked.
In a Metroidvania style game they could have areas that are inaccessible until you can use a certain beast form. Maybe there are passively active beast powers that you'd have access to in human form like being able to use wings or being able to do the forward werewolf rush move, and then you have a beast gague that you can fill up to transform into beast mode temporarily. This would give the player reason to use both the human and beast forms, without making the human form feel useless.
I sure hope this is supposed to be like that Sonic Adventure 2 Greatest Hits Revisited bandcamp...

Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap?
>but unfortunately it kind of sucked.
Lets not beat around the bush, it was fucking shovelware outsourced to some unnamed developer, presumably to keep the rights to the name.
And though I get what you are saying in defense of your fine Metroidvania idea, God Hand is not the same as DMC, and I'd just love to see more games in the vein of the former.
I am really glad that Sonic Mania is a thing, but at the same time I kind of hope that Sega eventually does another decent 3D Sonic in the vein of Generations.
Did you not watch the rest of the show? They made a teaser trailer for the new one.
God Hand level of combat and combat customization (in terms of fucking around with your moveset) in a new Altered Beast game (with you still powering up and becoming a beast of course) sounds like a strong idea.
I didn't see the full presentation, only the Sonic Mania footage.
So I just watched it. It's Sonic Generations 2. Nice.
It was said this was something new & not a sequel so we're not 100% if it's Generations 2 exactly.

PSO2 is bretty good. Never coming to the west but I bet it makes them a good amount of cash off of people buying anime titty costumes.
Nowadays it's also making people mad with star gems, as apparently premium subs and costumes weren't enough.
