Really?
Huh, I thought it was only in DaS.

Because most people won't notice.

Because it's creepy.

The resources required to animate realistic mouth movements are better spent elsewhere.

too much work

Because, unless your game features heavy dialogue where you're expected to be zoomed in on their face, syncing mouths to speech or even bothering to have them open is a waste of time, labor, and resources that could be better spent making the game itself better

It's too much for the PS4 to handle graphically..

It's sort of a staple of all Souls games. I used to find it off-putting in Demon's Souls but now it's what I come to expect, and i'm comfortable with it.

Also the developers are probably lazy

>resources that could be better spent making the game itself better
Then explain DS 2 and 3.

Because FromSoft is an ass backwards developer.

Take it from a Fromdrone, they are retarded at everything but the good outweighs the bad.
Their games cut so many corners, it's actually unbelievable.

Even DaS3 is plagued with unfinished textures, broken online and shit like NPC's mouths still not animating 5 games later (counting iterations since DeS).

Can you list off some corner cutting from Bloodborne?

...

>Then explain DS 2

Half of the game was scrapped and Tanimura had to pick up the pieces. Dunno about 3.

Didn't feel like rigging for facial animations or any of that shit.

Basically laziness.

It's not perfect.

It runs like literal garbage and doesn't look that impressive.

More or less the same as any of the other Souls games.
Framerate dips, graphical errors, mouths don't move.

If you payed any attention to the lore, you would understand that people in the Bloodborne universe communicate mentally.

I always figured it was because the other undead were not able to really communicate with each other. It is a mix of psychic communication and emotion. Or maybe the player reading their final thoughts before going hollow.

This is a problem in all of the Souls games.

In parts of Undead Settlements, all you have to do is look around some of the vistas to see those some PS2 quality trees from DaS2 and the ugly, unfinished texturing.

Here's a great floating statue that ruins the shot as soon as you walk into Old Yharnam.

hardware limitations

You mean engine limitations.
They're still using iterations of the same tech that made Demon's Souls.

Why is Andre the only one that can do it?

He had the most work put into his animations.
Andre was originally supposed to have a bunch of story related stuff to do like pushing the statue aside in Firelink to allow entry to the Kiln.

Then they realized it was too much work and said fuck it.

this isn't a bethesda/bioware talking head/dialogue tree chooser simulator here

too video gamey

>retards

that was fixed

There's dense, and then there's you.

they're just lazy, just look at KUON, they been lazy to do facial since PS2 days

I don't think From cared abou that and probably didn't dedicat eany time to it unless there was a close-up in a cutscene of a character's mouth. They'd done that since DeS.

Not that I know of, I was last in Old Yharnam less than a week ago and it was still there

I got one of these too. If you enter Iron keep and look right and upwards on the middle of the bridge, you'll see one of those small levers high up in the sky. It's weird, too, because I don't think there's supposed to be anything in that spot.
