Is this worth playing if I loved the original?
Is this worth playing if I loved the original?
is that the game where you must plan a route for scout to reach the end zone in one turn on every map
Just skip to 3.
2 introduces some new things and tries to balance it more so you can't break it as easily as the original with Scouts, but not all of the idea are implemented as well. Story is also high school anime bullshit.
3 actually has pretty polished gameplay and improves on the stuff 2 introduced. Story is less bad but still kind of shitty.
I would just skip to 3. VC2 isn't a bad game, but VC3 is better in every possible way. It's arguably the best game in the series.
These guys are right.
VC2 has some good ideas, but the grinding ruins it completely. Shove your credits up your ass, I felt absolutely zero guilt about using the PSP's equivalent of Cheat Engine plugin to adjust their numbers.
If you loved the original then stop there and forget the series exists.
Although, admittedly, all the cameos from VC2 in the third game are nice, especially when you meet the main antagonists.
bump
God no. Skip it, OP.
>but the grinding ruins it
Really? I thought it was the cringe-worthy shounen high school characters.
No, I had little problem with them, apart from the AHA-AHAHA-HAHA.
Some of them, like the kid who wanted to fuck his NBR older sister, I even found endearing.
The grinding was the real bad thing about it, not the setting or the story.
OP here. Just going to delete 2 and play the 3rd If the 3rd one sucks I guess I'll just replay 1 again.
>Troy Baker
>Ali Hillis
>Liam O'Brien
These villain VA's though.
I had fun with VC2. As a game itself its pretty good, but if you were to rank it as a series, its the weakest of the three games.
>do every character's unique mission
>grind a bunch
>get to the last month
>drop it
I just couldn't deal with it anymore. Between the shounen bullshit and generally bad writing, it was too much.
I think I broke when the girl who was colorblind magically regained her sight through the power of hope and friendship.
>that last part
What a shitshow.
not really. you should play 3 and if you want to get more, you can give 2 a shoot.
she was cooler blind beacuse of trama or some shit but got her cooler sight back when power of friendship kicked in.
I thought she regained it by the power of her friend shooting himself.
I hope you enjoy it. I'm not a fan of the small, fragmented battlefields in VC3, but outside of that I think it largely manages to surpass VC1.
is VC3 fully translated to english? Only saw it half translated
Anyone who says VCII is a bad game has never actually sat down to play it. They only listen to the other haters who also never played it but shit all over it just because it has a school setting.
It's a great game with decent story. Play it.
So is the only way to play this through custom firmare on psp?
Oh god, what is with the change in direction?
Gotta milk that sweet otaku cash, man.
muh dyuck
Is this worth playing if I don't have a PS3 to play the first?
Everything is translated aside from some supplementary content.
>everybody saying the game is shit
>is this worth playing
Cmon, my man. Also, first one is out for PC now too.
No, VC2 shits all over everything that made the first game good, both in story and gameplay.
>No, I had little problem with them, apart from the AHA-AHAHA-HAHA.
I haven't played the game since the year it came out and it's still burnt into my mind.
And it's AHA-AHAHAHA.
I don't use my ps4 much but can you play Vita exclusives such as listed game on just the ps4 alone? I loved VC and wanted to play the second but never had a vita.
i meant psp. Im tripping balls. But yeah TOLD do I need a psp?
I miss when Troy Baker used to voice weeb stuff. Man forgot his anime roots and goes only for the big American games now.
Just be prepared to see some godawful accuracy for the first few missions until you level up your classes.
Plus the PS4 remaster of it came out a couple of months ago
But hey, when your troops get accurate, they get ACCURATE.
>final potential Margit blowing a radiator away from another edge of the map
Don't even get me started on Serge, the guy's a laser pointer.
Meh, I like my 1 CP tank w/ infinite ammo better.
Oh, and accidentally blowing Valkyria Baldren EX from behind with a tank was one of the most enjoyable experiences I had.
Its good gameplay wise. It tried to balance the game. Scouts arent op anymore. New class specializations are good. Fencer is fun to play. Its good game for psp.
The downside are small maps thanks to the psp. You have to grind with rng loot. And the story is full of anime thropes.
Its solid game limited by the console it was released. Give it a try. Its just a shame it wasnt made for ps3
Story of VC1 wasn't anything amazing too so I don't get from where all this hate is coming from.
I liked how now if you want full rankings, you are forced to use APC to fast transport all useful units.
Persona 3 and 4 happened.
Is the translation for 3 100% yet?
I really enjoyed Valkyria Chronicles II mainly because I made Avan a fencer elite. Shit was so broken. My Avan had double movement. Big ass shield to block any incoming attacks from the front. And would 1 hit kill almost everything. And if they won't die in one hit, I'll give a order so he can go again. Only a few of the endgame bosses can withstand more than 1 hit.
In vc2 you have to use all units not only scouts.
And story in vc1is just good, nothing special. Fot me it felt too episodic. But i still love the series. I hope for some kind remaster of vc2&3
