What are you expecting from it? Future GOAT, simply comfy fun, or a wave of disappointement?

comfy fun, which is everything i want out of it and what ive been expecting since that really shitty game awards which had nms and cranky kong as the only hype stuff
I'm expecting Sup Forums to be butthurt no matter what happens.
In fact I think I 'm going to filter it now. Thanks for reminding me op
>comfy fun
this
gonna be a game I will pick up and play for years to come
Not going to be GOAT.
It'll be comfy fun until you start seeing repeating patterns in the procedural generation.
Then it'll be just like every other sandbox once you've done everything. The question is how long is it going to take to get to that point.
Based on how samey every video/screenshot looks, I'm going to say not long; certainly not $60 worth.
I expect comfy. The big feature is different places so I don't expect alot of deep immersive content that supports wanting to do everything but I do expect it to deliver on what it says it will.
I think there will be people posting small, cute animals for awhile.
Comfy fun for about 3 hours then it'll get boring
Yeah, I expect threads to pop up about the weird thing speople find and shipfus threads
looks dumb. And hordes of facebook retard posting "lmao dog face so le comfy" with nothing to talk about.
>Based on how samey every video/screenshot looks
A 15$ indie early acess-tier title disguised as a 60$ game.
screencapped, this'll be hilarious in a few months
Seems like a good game for relaxing. Just sit on the couch and fly around, check out a planet or two. It's not something I'm really interested in, but it'll definitely find a good player base.
The first real exploration game we've gotten in years
The aesthetic is boring and uninspired. Looks like someone took a 3rd grader's doodles and adapted them into 3D.
I´m buying it just to explore. Pretty sure i can spend a few hours flying in and out of the planets to just see it in motion.
...
I'd be interested in it for $10 as an interactive screensaver.
40h of comfy exploration/resource procurement on colored planets with earth grass.
I have fairly low expectations, although I'm curious. I enjoyed Joe Danger but it was a cheap arcade experience, you could give this game the team size and budget of an Assassin's Creed or GTA and it would still be way shallower than you'd need for a game of this scope- it's why people don't attempt it. I'd like to see how well they do, but it's never going to be anywhere near the expectations of the majority.
Spore2.
Dumbed down minecraft with a slightly more mature theme.
half assed combat, puddle deep infinitely wide content and depth and meme names for planets and animals. You'll get bored after 5~ hours since there will be quite to see and mess with. Worth MAYBE 10$ if you're generous. I'll be waiting patiently for a $5~ sale.
Has the potential to be comfy as well but i still wouldn't pay more than 10$ for it.
Much like Skyrim is said to be a mile wide and an inch deep, after a month people will be saying NMS is a galaxy wide and an angstrom deep.
That's what I expect anyway. 'Hope I'm wrong.
Sup Forums is going to shit itself in anger once it comes out and is actually a really good game
I hope you are able to free look(ala Arma) in the interior view.
That is impossible outside of space combat being good. What it is setting out to do cannot be fun for very long. You'll see most people with 10-15 hours playtime and then they'll shelve it because theres nothing much to the game and all the time they spent was low quality entertainment while slowly realizing you won't really find anything special.
Sad news for you, its going to be good because it has absolutely no competition in exploration.
You're not the target audience. But its going to be hilarious when you jump into NMS threads in a few weeks shouting
>OMG SO SHIT COMBAT BAD
And get BTFO by people pointing out the same thing im pointing out now. Its an exploration game, there is no thing even close to it and its exploration is great because they didnt hold everyones hand and reveal everything about the game.
shit I want to see:
>funky space anomalies (black holes, pulsars etc.)
>walk on a tiny moon of a giant planet and see said planet in the "sky"
>look across the horizon and see planetary rings rising and fly through said rings
>explore deep dark alien oceans
>fly into a gas giant and see whats at the core (a giant diamond?!)
>ancient alien civilization ruins
>I want to stand a planet surface and watch it's sun go supernova
>planets crashing into other planets
>blue, purple, green sunsets.
>I want to fly next to a comet
>big ass giant star sooo large it would take me hours to fly around it
>etc... etc... etc.....
Simply Comfy Game desu.
Normies are hyping it up WAAAAAAAY to much almost all of them will end up disappointed because you can't do everything they assume you can.
But personally, I'll probably still enjoy it because it seems like a game that will appeal to my inherent video game wanderlust.
It's jarring the way that head does not fit that model at all.
>there is no story
Where's the story in those screen shots? They look the same as the others
I still can't believe a 15 man team can do something even remotely acceptable on this scale.
>it has absolutely no competition in exploration
That you know of.
>that smiley face
DOES THIS MEAN WE CAN TAME ANIMALS?!
Please, do point out some video games where I can explore planets seamlessly getting into and out of my ship where every possible thing is not already listed on a wiki
Noctis V
never
ever
>doesnt exist
Well done. You proved my point.
Why do they showcase red so much?
Red sky, red grass, red leaves, red oceans.
An exploration game that is, at the least pretty.
Like subnautica there isn't really going to be much to do and once you see everything (or at least everything you need too) you will get bored and come back when it updates or whatever.
Coming from someone that spent hundreds of hours in Kerbal when it only had the Mun (and a hundred or so even before that) I think I will enjoy the mindless exploration and fucking around aspect enough to justify the purchase.
I just hope that the game doesn't die because they are being sued by literal jews over the most jewish shit
>I just hope that the game doesn't die because they are being sued by literal jews over the most jewish shit
Nah apparently the issue worked itself out, turns out they never used the superformula
Cultists are weird man. Why can't they detect sarcasm or emotion like other people?
>tumblr shitposter cant do sarcasm
Well its your own fault you failed at school kid
It's just your imagination
They dont know how eye cancer a red sky is seriously imagine if our sky was red that would really freaky.
>They dont know how eye cancer a blue sky is seriously imagine if our sky was blue that would really freaky.
He did sarcasm perfectly, something you would have picked up on if you actually knew or cared about this genre beyond NMS.
>pretending to be someone else
Not who your replying to but you suck at both humor and sarcasm kid, try again.
...
No blue skies are great they have a calming effect on our psyche actually.
>He did sarcasm perfectly, something you would have picked up on if you actually knew or cared about this genre beyond NMS.
Please do list some good exploration games coming out soon
...
>the point
>your head
>No red skies are great they have a calming effect on our psyche actually.
See that animal? you can feed it!
idk man, red is dominant in like 40-50% of the announcement trailer
Red makes humans hostile.
Where are you getting these caps from?
>Blue makes humans hostile.
I don't know about that, here's a collage of most planets shown.
Maybe it's just ebcause red grass/planet is instantly associated with aliens worlds.
>being this stupid
I dont think you understand what you or he is saying
If our sky was naturally red we wouldn't have the connotations associated with blue, we would have them with red. The point is a red sky would not be 'freaky' if it had always been red.
that was a fake story to generate news buzz
>red Sup Forums boards
>porn everywhere
>people happy
>blue Sup Forums boards
>shitposting everywhere
>people angry
Red is the better color.
You're really thick, you know that?
>They dont know how eye cancer a red sky is seriously imagine if our sky was red that would really freaky.
>imagine if our sky was not the normal color, that would be freaky!
No shit. If it was always red though it would not be freaky at all.
Learn reading comprehension, the fact you couldnt figure this out shows you have an IQ below 60.
japanese demo system
Japaneses event from yersteday posted on twitter
Shut up retard, our blood is red and it still freaks us out the color red to our brains just makes us on edge retard.
could be a good game if it wasn't so heavily shilled and sold for $60
>walk on a tiny moon of a giant planet and see said planet in the "sky"
>blue, purple, green sunsets.
good taste lad
>Shut up retard, our blood is blue and it still freaks us out the color blueto our brains just makes us on edge retard.
I love the aesthetic. I hope it's good and comfy and provides enough to not get boring very fast. I'm not waiting for the messiah but just a good game
Starbound is pretty much a 2D NMS and equally as shit.
You are very smart and good at sports. You have many friends and people like you.
Read what I posted again, and realize you're a moron.
Fuck off retard.
Reminder
>all planets only have one climate/biome each
>planets are miles away (note some trailers show short travel to moons, not planets which are much further away)
>can rename any creature/planet, but doing so is completely redudant given the fact there's no reason to stay on a planet and chances of another player seeing said planet is almost 0
>the online "multiplayer" is extremely misleading - players cannot bump into each other in the world; rather, actions they do (like renaming things) will take effect in an asynchronous manner
>the "quests" shown off were literally to gather matetials or defend/attack a faction
>NPCs have no AI whatsoever, only a select few scripted events to trigger the above
>less than 10 actual climates seem to exist in the game, with recolours being their compromise for looking like more
>due to the insanely high number of apparent planets in this game, statistically the chances of you seeing many unique ones is miniscule - rather, you're more likely to see a planet with tall mountains in red, then one with slightly shorter mountains in blue, then in green with a lake. The more permutations in a procedural structure, the less different they are to one-another
>"combat" appears to only be basic gunplay (one of the easiest things to implement to make what would otherwise just be a simulator into a game, since implementing guns just requires basic raycasting)
>optional weapon upgrades that are """crafted""" by dumping random collectibles on it
>trees, creatures, and NPCs shown off so far already have duplicates in promotional material, which is quite an antithesis to all the "there's so many permutations!" point they hammer-in
Next time before you post moron learn English.
Why dont you fuck off if you cant handle logic. You claimed it would be freaky if the sky was red. It wouldn't be, because if it had always been red then we would have been freaked out by any other color.
I really do love that the idiotic frog has become the trademark of all idiots on Sup Forums. Makes identifying trolls so much easier.
Next time when you shitpost dont use an image that is like a giant neon sign saying "IM A MORON"
Shipfu material
>game out in 2 weeks
>havnt had any new gameplay in a year
We had new gameplay yesterday you idiot
your shipfu is a giant pink dildo
...
Would look natural if we had a naturally red sky. Thank you for finally admitting you're a moron.
The sony youtube page has uploaded 4 videos in the past couple weeks.
>is so stupid/uneducated/illiterate still cant get the point through his skull
Is where you want to be, they enjoy the company of idiots like yourself.
I feel like I've already seen everything just from the screenshots. Planets and monsters are literally just pallet swaps.
A pink sky would be ok but a red sky is still eye cancer.
So what is there to do in this game other than fly around and name things?
>still doesnt get it
You are literally too stupid to educate.
they literally arent though
Please tell me that that guy can retract his snail head into his body to end up looking like a giant, walking, uncut dick.
>people have no imagination
The ones that need imagination are the creators, not the players. Players are literally paying people to imagine cools stuff for them to play.
No, you moron, it wouldn't be if it was natural.
Holy shit you may be the most idiotic person to ever visit Sup Forums.
:)
>games are only fun if we are dragged through them by the developer
>colors have an innate emotional impact based on DNA and nothing else
You are a complete and absolute idiot
>Planets and monsters are literally just pallet swaps
Not only is that wrong, but they haven't shown everything. They've only been showing the types of planets and aliens you're likely to see at the start of the game. They're saving the rest so as not to spoil it.
Oh I get it user but I dont care since Im human my color standards matter since Im buying this game.
NA UH IT DONT EXIST AND ALL STUFF THEY HAVE BEEN REVEALING NOW TOO IS NOT REAL ITS ALL FAKE SPORE 2.0 LOL THIS IS TOR FAILURE
There, thread done.
