Depends on what you want. I suicide run for weapons all the time and you can get a good chunk without beating Ludwig.

Beating the DLC though? That's a bit tougher. Unless you're particularly skilled the first part of the DLC all the way and including Ludwig is a big difficulty check designed to keep you out.

I wouldn't have trouble with the base game at sl30, but the dlc is another story. I don't think this will help me out against orphan. I mean I could run through the first few areas to get the boomhammer, but Ludwig would eventually wreck my shit even at lvl 60 on an arcane build.

Fair enough, you could always ask for people to help you though. I have a lvl 43 twink with chalice gems, I know many other people do and they won't take stat reductions at that level.

lvl 4 run
lvl 90 BLT build
A lvl 250+ "all rounder" that was meant for helping with co-op (before the stat reduction update)
And like a lvl 80 shitty build that was my first playthrough

I always meant to do pure ARC or STR, but never did and then DS3 came out.

Pure ARC is pretty fun. Best thing is you don't need to invest hardly anything for weapons since a fire/bolt saw spear works wonders or if you like the Saif, just two points in skill with everything else going into health and arcane.

You could just go cliff side and use a long range weapon.

You only need gems for PvP.

Decent fire gems aren't too bad to get. Bolt seems to be the one that is a bit more elusive for me. I've been following this and its done pretty good for me.

Worked for me. I used Ludwig's but I imagine Beastcutter would do the job too. You need downward hits really. And a lot of health because they will nick you occasionally.

Honestly Bloodborne should've just been an Action Adventure game with heavy customization.

The combat is good enough as it is, I love the design, presentation, lore and all that about Bloodborne, but the RPG elements feel so hamfisted.

They took the right step in trying to make every weapon and outfit viable and unique. But they still have that stupid fucking blood rock enhancement system.

Because human bosses have to be larger than the player for all their actions to be clear and for them to have a proper presence. This is the case for all the hunter bosses, and all the knight bosses in other games.
You can actually summon Gascoigne to fight Cleric Beast and he's about 8 feet tall.

It is exceedingly difficult, but I managed to do it with a level 4 character. Most of the bosses took me hours to get down perfectly.

What sucks is that you don't even really get anything you can twink with. But I still had fun doing it.

I started a new file, rushed to get the eye or whatever for the dlc, was like SL 20 and died to him about 30 times
now im thinking about actually leveling

Well do it, if you like the game the DLC areas are the best part. Not to mention there's newer weapons to play around with.
