Most splatfests sucked, the last one was the best by a wide margin, though I only played half of them as I hated how they locked ranked battles out.

For a total of 5 minutes before I was reminded why I dropped the game in the first place.

It's a typical Nintendo "Mariokart" situation where you simply can't get ahead on skill alone. They won't allow it. No communication between allies beyond meaningless spammy shoutouts in a small 4v4 team based objective game is garbage. Proper preset voice commands would have been okay. What we got was trash that doesn't even let you really say anything other than "come here"

I just bought a Wii U and wanted splatoon but now i dont know anymore. Are they not going to cycle through the old splatfests? i feel like i legitimately missed out. I feel like Nintendo neutered the game by ending splatfests.

I tend to use the "Booyah!" command as a ping, playing it 2-3 times in rapid succession if I really want someone's attention. Just to use it as a "hey there's an enemy over here someone do something about him" or a "hey I just killed 3/4 of the enemy team stop standing around in the middle of the map where it's already our color and fucking push"

Obviously it doesn't always work but it works more often than I would have initially thought.

I was on team callie and I could tell it was pretty hopeless. I had like 30 losses and 3 wins by the time I called it quits.

I'm a pretty good player and I was playing my ass off. you're just gonna have to take my word on it. i'll be in first place by a very wide margin, I'll average 10+ kills 3ish deaths even in the games when we're getting stomped. I'll also be be in first in ground painted. I tried to carry but apparently all the retards voted for team callie as i've never experienced such an unending train of idiots for teammates during normal play. it was fucking painful.

i'm surprised it was even that close.

After the first few they weren't that fun. It was just the one day of the month where you feel obligated to do your best in the game's casual mode. The best part about them was not playing with the Japs and the dialog for the announcement.

you missed one component, but everything else is there and the game is still fun. i'd still recommend it.
