So we agree that Xbox has the better left stick placement?
wtf! i hate sony now
I much prefer the PS4 controller and stick layout desu
better console worse controller get a xbox controller adapter
>asymmetry
>ergonomic
Maybe if you have a deformed left hand.
Can I have source on this meme?
I don't get it, why is the Bone controller ergonomic and the PS4 controller not?
With the back triggers, PS4 is actually more ergonomic now
I have never owned a sony console and therefore not used their controllers but that image is beyond stupid.
Here your (you)
Either way is fine. I like both controllers.
if you ever went and played on both you would understand. the xbox controller feels so much more right and comfortable i could game for 5 hours without my thumb hurting. it just feels right with the left stick placement
I owned a PS2 and played on ps3 idiot i know what a centered thumbsticks feel like
I have both for my PC. Both get the job done. However the X1 controller is the better of the two.
Yes we do. We always have. Some have said otherwise, but they are fishermen. The issue with the old Xbox controllers was with the Dpad, which has since stopped being retarded. Xbone has the best controller ever made. Shame the console sucks
So with the xbone controller only one thumb hurts, but with the ps4 both hurt?
..why
But I can play a PS4 game all day without my thumb hurting either, user, what's your left hand's major malfunction?
thanks for admitting the truth. im not saying the ps4 sucks because i only own the one im just saying that the centered thumbsticks is a dumb carry over from their last gen. hopefully the NEO will have ergonomic thumb stick placement.
Curiosity. Plus comes in handy for co-op games.
no im not saying that its just with the ps4 controller it feel like im constantly reaching with my left thumb for a button
So wait, you think that the Xbox One controller is miles better than the painful PS4 controller, yet you don't even have both consoles. What's really happening here is that you're used to one controller and not used to another. Both of them are fine, get over it.
PS stick layout works. It's "fine." Bu it is far from ideal for anything 3D.
I HAD A PS2/ps3 holy shit man are you a dumbass or something? ps4 is just a fat dualshock 3 controller
Except that it's a different shape. Kys yourself ASAP.
I like Sony's the best. Shouldn't the Wii U classic controller be the most ergonomic if you want your analog sticks high up?
You only want the left stick up to be on the same line as the buttons. Right stick is used less frequently.
>Xbox stick layout
Best for 3D
>PS stick layout
Best for 2D
>Wii U stick layout
Best for shooters
This is purely stick layout, other parts of the controller can add or detract (like Wii U's analog triggers.)
The left thumb stick is better on the Xbox controller because it allows your left hand to do the more continuous but less precise action of moving while the right hand is positioned to allow for precise movement and button control. The dual shock makes your left thumb reach to control the stick using more muscles and making it less comfortable.
Sony also has worse games so maybe you associate the bad experience with the controller idk
Right stick use is still very frequent in modern games and sees the same amount of use in some genres like FPS.
What's wrong with the Wii U?
Left stick on bottom is completely doable. You're just tilting it around.
D-Pad on bottom is disgusting deal-breaking garbage. You make more deliberate contact with a D-Pad, so you have no choice but to put it in a very comfortable position. Failure to do so makes your controller not as useful overall. Even little things like menus I use the D-pad for.
DS4 is better if you want to play anything with the d-pad like a 2D platformer.
analog triggers
convex sticks
(not a functional thing but gloss)
it's not much but flaws are flaws.
>You make more deliberate contact with a D-Pad
Only in 2D games dude. In everything else dpad is used for either quick select stuff (where very little precision is needed compared to anything with an analogue stick) or menu browsing (where 99% of the time you're safe from harm and thus have time to make more precise selections, not that you need much since it's still only four directions).
The context you will never get from these threads is that from aside from the obvious Xdrones it's PCucks that only racing games and autocamera third person action games with a controller.
/jp/
PlayStation is the better console but the Xbox controller is better in every way. The elite controller is god tier
Jerking off too much.
>analog triggers
What do you mean?
Wii U Pro Controller has better stick placement than the DS4.
Yes, it always has been, and the reason why is simple.
Basically, with the left analog stick in the upper left, your thumb has maximum room for flexible and fast control — perfect for moving in a game, which the left analog stick does. Meanwhile, the right analog stick is further in, making your thumb stretched out for tighter, but more precise control — perfect for aiming in a game, which the right analog stick does.
Xbox controller has always been and will always be superior for 3D shooters until Sony changes the analog stick placement, which they never will since it's a brand characteristic of the Dualshock.
Right stick is used in literally every 3D game with camera control, which is 99% of all 3D games.
>it's PCucks that only racing games and autocamera third person action games with a controller.
I've never understood why you guys love to embarrass yourselves and act like retards.
They click rather than gradually push down. They're not even triggers, really, in anything but name. They're buttons. The full range of triggers is not always used, but when it is, it's indispensable.
>the right analog stick is further in, making your thumb stretched out
No this is not how any of this works
Oh shit nigger why call it a trigger if its just a button with extra work.
Thanks.
So are face buttons. Face buttons are used more. Therefore, face buttons go in the upper right.
Actually it is.
Never used the Xbone controller,b utnInhate thebDualshock 4. Stupid light bar, I don't like the touchpad at all, and the battery life sucks.
The DS3 was better than this crap.
Oh I didn't realize we were talking about deformed people that have to hold the controller completely fucked up, sorry.
how the hell do you hold it
Are you retarded?
Shit tier d-pad placement tho
But I hate the Dualshock 4*
>The DS3 was better than this crap.
I have not used the DS4 much but I find this hard to believe. The DS3 is the worst official controller I've used since the N64 pad, no way DS4 is worse.
Are you fucking retarded, mate? Do you not see the difference in the amount of space the thumb has to reach over for the right stick compared to the left? Gargantuan niggers with 12" diameter ape claws need not apply.
HAHAHAH fucking rekt Sonyfag
If you were born with asymetrical hands then the 360 pad would be better.
Fortunately I'm a normal functional human with two symmetrical hands, so having to stretch one thumb more than the other does not feel intuitive to me.
Will they ever make a controller where you can switch all four positions around?
>The DS3 was better than this crap.
The DS3 was fucking trash on so many level
Well I'm not a chubby 12 year old girl, maybe those hands would be considered normal if I was.
The only reason his left thumb isn't stretching is because he's holding the left side of the controller an inch higher because of his manlet hands that can barely reach the triggers.
The only thing "Worse" about the DS3 is that it's a little smaller, which means people with bear hands might have trouble adjusting. It can also only be charged via the PS3 while the DS4 can be plugged in anywhere due to using universal USB ports.
Other than that, the DS3 is better or equal to the DS4 in practically every way.
But having symmetrical precision of control over both moving and aiming does?
Oh. It's a "I played only the 360 because I'm a young kid so the best controller is the 360" Thread. Don't mind me. Just having the best analog stick, best dpad, and best buttons ever
So is the Dualshock 4.
If a game requires extensive use of both sticks then the next most important functions are bound to shoulder and triggers. This is assuming the dev team isn't retarded of course.
Too light for its size
The triggers are squishy ass
Convex sticks
>If a game requires extensive use of both sticks
Which is almost always not the case. Most 3D games have a reasonably competent autocamera, and/or don't need to move the camera in battle or action situations. At best you will need to make light, quick camera adjustments on the fly between use of the face buttons. Again, top level sticks = shooters only.
>The DS3 was better than this crap.
Woah there, buddy. Do you have any idea how fast you're shitposting? Yeah the DS4's battery life is terrible and the lightbar makes it even worse for literally no reason, but it's way better than the DS3.
>Too light
What?
>Triggers are squishy ass
As if the DS4 is much better. Also the back triggers are too long, so placing the controller down, or resting it on your lap while still holding the controller, can set it off.
>Convex sticks
I never had an issue with this one, but to each their own.
>Dualshock 4
Worthless speakers, touchpad is a stupid worthless gimmick, and the light bar is ass and can't even be turned off. Even the dimmest setting is too bright. It also has shit battery life and the triggers are too long.
>Wii
Hey it's the last good thing Nintendo ever made
Yeah let me go ahead and use that on all my modern games.
