>8gb RAM
>soundcard
>liquid cooling
>wifi card
>cd tray

Justify any of these.

Idk im new with this pc stuff. What can i add or delete?

p.s. a sidenote, why are you buying a micro ATX motherboard?

The best advice I can give you is to actually do some research on what you're buying first (research is not posting threads on Sup Forums)

k

8gb RAM is quickly becoming the standard m8, 4 just isn't enough anymore. You're right about just about everything else though.

If you really think you want a wi-fi card, sure, go with it. But drop everything else and put it into getting a better graphics card,

No

He was implying 8gb is too low

Actually I was going to be advocating for more RAM, not less.

>cd tray
How else does he install his os?

A bootable USB?

>2016
>still using air to cool your cpu

fucking poorfags

Ah, my mistake

>8gb ram
At least bump that up to 16 gb
>mini atx motherboard on a mid tower case
what are you doing nigger
>GTX970 when pascal is out
You are one dumb fuck, at least get a 1060
>500w bronze psu
NEVER cheap out on a god damned PSU. Get something like 750 or at least 650 with a gold certification
>Needing a optical drive. 2016
Nigga, just stop
>Going for a Corsair h60 when it has the same performance as the EVO 212 air cooler
You will save yourself $40 if you get yourself an EVO 212.
>Sound card, EVER
Take that shit off your parts list.

There are multiple motherboard sizes, I'd go for a full one. As far as case the cooler Master haf 912 is good for newbies. Ram is fine , graphics is fine. Don't get a sound or wifi card to start. Newegg has some good tutorials for beginners. Good luck!

My friend has liquid cooling and it literally only gives him 2 degrees lower than mine. I dont want to waste around 100 to 200 pounds on that little of a difference when I can spend it on better purchases.

>buying LGA 1151 to put a 3.xghz cpu
>buying a 970

You fucked up.

>16gb of ram

>optical drive
I'd say get it. cheap as fuck and you never know when you might need it. also its vastly easier to install your initial drivers.

everything else i'd agree with

Did this stop being a joke? has it been that long since i built my computer?

>installing outdated drivers
Why?

err. the 16gb. apparently that isnt a joke anymore? I realize its cheap but you post 16gb and people used to laugh you out

MOBO drivers. Last time i built a machine it wouldnt recognize LAN until i ran that driver.

I imagine i could find the lan driver online but i'd rather just do the disk. Not transfer between machines

It's not a joke anymore, it moved onto 32 gb now.

Since a lot of games you need more than 6gb to play now.

And you dont have a phone with internet and a usb port to download it?
Better buy a shit phone with wifi instead.

Spend the extra money and get one of the 10XX cards.

Yea my shit will do all of that i'd just rather do the drivers that come with it. Most of them have really shitty english and are shoddy so i'd worry about matching versions online. I wouldnt buy more than one though, i use one with a for a few machines. It's come in handy.

Your motherboard has an ethernet port. Unless for some reason you're a savage who doesn't have a wired internet connection, get rid of the wifi card.

Sound card is literally useless, trash that shit.

Liquid cooling is overkill, get a nice air cooler for cheaper.

Since you've now saved some money by getting rid of the extra shit you don't need, spend your savings on either a newer model video card or a SSD. Installing your OS on a SSD makes booting incredibly fast.

>telling him to shill out to Nvidia
No, get an AMD.

CPU: amazon.com/Intel-Boxed-I5-6600K-Processor-BX80662I56600K/dp/B012M8M7TY

i5 6600k -237

CPU Cooler: amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-T2-Heatpipes/dp/B00K7809O2?ie=UTF8&tag=pcpapi-20

Cooler master basic: 16 bucks

Motherboard: newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130892

MSI Z170-A PRO LGA 1151 : 115 bucks

Ram: newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231964&cm_re=16_gb_ram-_-20-231-964-_-Product

16 gb ddr4- 62 bucks

GPU: Gtx 1070- I'd wait until they drop below 400, their real price. It should happen sooner or later. Your budget overall is too high to settle for the other tier. I'd recommend a 490 if amd actually put it out since it would fit the budget nicely and not be overpriced.

Case: amazon.com/Corsair-Carbide-100R-Tower-Case/dp/B00RORBQNW

Basic corsair case 50 bucks

PSU: newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438026

Evga 650 watts and fully modular- 80 bucks

HDD: Just get a regular HD at 1 terabyte for 50 bucks

gonna second this

Then you just download them and put them on a usb beforehand.

>I'm too inept and incompetent to make my own liquid cooling set up

It really only shines when over clocking anyways.

Does anyone have recommendations for pc cup holders?

>Is it worth getting this pc?
Yea sure, why not.
>What games could it run?
I'd say almost all of them.

>bootable USB

not always

I've had the horrible experience of needing to spend $50 on a cd-drive at best buy just to install drivers. If your new mobo doesn't have out of the box USB support, which is a mixed bag, you're totally FUCKED without a cd-drive.

took the shit back the next day, but it can happen.

I've been AMD/AMD for 11+ years, but AMD is just fucked right now. I just bought a 980ti for $360 cash off craigslist. Ebay also has amazing deals on 980ti's.

I've become an intel/nvidia shill

again, USB does not always work on a fresh motherboard. I have an ASUS board and needed to install drivers before USB was detected.

what is 10$ for a cd-drive

OVER THE BUDGETTTTTTT

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>usb drivers
Grampa, win 98 is no more.
You can also use a wifi dongle, and have the drivers in another usb.
Allways be prepared.

Ditch the cooler, get a hyper 212 evo
More ram
Fuck the 970, get the evga 1060 sc or that new amd card
probably don't need the optical drive, definitely don't need the sound card
if you're using this for gaming you don't want to be using wifi anyway, stick with a wired connection.
add another fan or two and you're gold.

Yea mean I totally got a optical drive to push the button on the tray to make it go in and out when i'm bored

totes worth the 10 dollars

They're the best. Have been forever.

>sound card
Who the hell buys sound cards?

>corshill ghetto loop
>corshill fans
>corshill case
>sound card any year after 2008.
>optical drive
>not having at least gigabit ethernet
>inb4 muh wires
>what is powerline ethernet

Thoughts on 144hz monitors? Worth it?

I can't, all of that shit is an unnecessary waste of money

Yes
