Do games even let you do LAN nowadays?

Anyway I guess depending on how many people you get you could get a good game of Siege going. Or Halo, though I'm assuming you aren't a console gamer

One time me and all my buddies met up at a pals house and set up our computers in his basement, for some odd reason his basement was the perfect place for a lan party. Outlets everywhere, tables lining the walls.

Anyways, one night we're all chilling in the basement doing our thing, When one of my pal brings down a 2 liter of mountain dew, and begins to pour a cup for himself, another friend follows suite.

After awhile I get into a discussion with one of them over a board game and throw the top of a ripped up monopoly board at them, in a panic the one I threw it at jolted and smacked the moutain dew filled cup.

It spilled everywhere and completley drenched one of my friends PC's.

It didn't break though.

Some games still do

What is siege?
I got two disc of halo 3 I had for the last one but no many people played. Last one felt like it was lacking something

Dat liquid cooling
What games did you have?

Rainbow Six Seige, famalam. I figured it would be good if you had like 12 people or some shit. Otherwise I guess old counterstrike. Or I guess if you only had like 6 people or something you could all group up on the same team for something

Other than that it would be pretty easy to pirate the GoG version of unreal tournament 2k4 and have some arena battles.

Showcase your wall hacks, it's what the cool kids are doing.

Modern warfare 1 is fucking sweet on LAN, the cracked version is easy to set up.

>tfw Backlot map with 20+ players

Terraria is tons of fun with friends, even more so with PVP turned on.

Broodwar and SWAT 4 are classic choices.

Starcraft - it's great if everyone knows a little about what they are doing but not really - make sure to ply free for all then backstab certain people

Nothing wrong with having some non-lan games, especially in this day and age. Hook up your consoles if you got them and remember to keep a scented candle burning in the bathroom at all times.

Oh man. Local modern warfare was so fun. There's just something hilarious about other people seeing you have a predator missile, hear them all shout at the same time, and watch them run like cockroaches to cover

Sweet thanks guys. I got all the UT games to play. I haven't thought about siege. But ill get MW1 for sure

I will try these. Didn't even think of terraria and I've never seen swat 4 before
My NEET friends don't like rts :/

Nox and the Tribes games are a lot of fun so long as you have enough people.

Starcraft was always pretty popular at the LAN parties I went to. Unfortunately, everyone always seemed to love Big Game Hunters and other maps that give you a ton of resources, which I hated.

*Ian a party
FTFY
Ask him what games he likes to play.

UT99 (mods matrix moves and bullet time)

and Q3 with a bunch of custom 1v1 maps

funny stuff.

Some people posted a picture of their Path of Exile lan-party recently on reddit. So i guess we found out what happened to the guy taped to the ceiling

Used to be staff on a fairly large (60+ people) monthly LAN party from years back. God bless, user.

Depending on how many people coming to your party, a blast is playing bagmatches. Play whatever shooter everyone has/you have pirated for everyone and pair everyone up into teams of 2. One person mans the keyboard and/or mouse with a paper bag (Or whatever) on his head to obscure his vision, the other person is his eyes and is his eyes. We used to do tournaments of it, but you can do whatever. Just 2 vs 2 fuck around, small tournament, shits and giggles. It's pretty fun. Pro tip: ignoring the mouse entirely and just playing with keyboard makes it easier. You can tell everyone that or not as you wish.

Another good tip is to have some ready-to-pirate games on hand and shared. Back in the day it was a little easier since everyone would own the big MP games (Half-Life, Battlefield 1942, Quake of any and all flavors, UT, etc) but shit's a bit more spread now. Also depends on how many people are coming. If it's just a few friends that all have the same games it's no big deal. If it's more, it's handy having some oldish and easily pirateable game at hand and do a "Power hour" where you throw up a server for whatever it is and try to rope everyone into it. Also a good excuse to play some good shit that doesn't have online players, like Red Faction 1 MP.

Anyway, wish you the best user. LANs are a hell of a lot of fun.

>Nox

I'm this fat fuck down here and I can confirm that Nox is absolutely rocking multiplayer. You might be turned off because it's an action RPG, but the multiplayer has deathmatch and CTF modes and plays more like a top-down action game. It's an absolute blast since the different classes can do some silly shit. I know it's on Origin, if there's an easy cracked version floating around that'd be cool.

GAMES TO GET

SWAT 4
UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2k4
SVEN COOP

why does this nigga on the left have a boner

He fucking loves video games

Just looked up nox. Looks really good. YouTube comments say its on lan and I found a link to some forums with download links for everything

A fun game we play when we meet up is stronghold crusader.
It is fun for 1-2 games and if you get it on the internet you can just pass it around on a usb stick.

>boner

I can't tell if I'm being rused or not, but there's no boner. He's got a dick but that's to be expected.

The only lan parties I had was with diablo 2, unreal tournament, and star craft. I was bed ridden for like half a year, so friends would come over with their laptops to play video games with me.

While not really a lan party. We use to rent the whole local internet cafe to play counter strike, DoD, and TFC as well.

Those were good times. These guys no longer play video games. They'd rather play the stock market, while I'm a poor fag who can participate.

>PoE LAN Party
>PATH OF FUCKING EXILE
>THE GAME THAT DOES NOT HAVE LAN
>LAN Party

I've never been to a LAN party. All my friends just want to drink and smoke for fun. None of them play video games. Shit sucks.

>Long on to the same game
>In the same room
>Make a private game
How much different is this from a normal LAN party experience besides using a server instead of a LAN?

about a year ago a friend made a lan party at his house we were playing ragnarok online on a private server dont remember the name of it.

getting in endless tower and killing the mvps and having fun until we got fucked by the Bio Labs, time ran out and we got kicked of the dungeon

after that we played some starcraft brood war games.

i never won any starcraft match

I've given up on LAN parties, because most of my friends don't have PCs capable of handling anything recent, nor do they give a shit about PC games to begin with.

What I do do sometimes is haul my PC to my friend's apartment, hook it up to his massive TV, and play single-screen games with people. If you have enough controllers for it, 8 player Gang Beasts is a fucking riot. Jackbox games (Drawful, Quiplash) are also a safe bet for easy fun.

A LAN doesn't rely on the potentially fragile connection to an external server. Ping tends to be better, which doesn't matter much for a game like PoE, but matters a shit ton for twitch shooters like Quake 3.

so not much different then

COD still does it

are you a girl?
