What is wrong with these people? I'm not jealous ok maybe a fucking little bit cunt but I'm genuinely curious as to why people think this is productive use of their money.
There are countless examples of this. Vaatividya is one of them. He uploads 2 lore videos a month and makes $6000 from it.
Why is this acceptable? Am I just fucking desitute? Because even if I was rich I wouldnt even consider supporting some of these people.
Did you know that people often give gifts to other people that they like?
Justin Price
people see something they like, want to see more of, and speak with their wallets. i don't see that as an unproductive use of one's money.
and no, i dont give to anyone myself
John Jenkins
There's a limit though surely? I'm failing to understand how someone can see someone earning $20'000 a month and think 'He could use my support'
Christian Taylor
easy allies is more than one person, i'm pretty sure
Isaiah Reyes
They could do a better job with 50'000$
Connor Wright
Because they have a dedicated fanbase who are more than happy to contribute.
William Baker
>thank you for making things that i like I don't do it, but it seems pretty obvious to me.
Hudson Bailey
>10 guys
Owen Price
>I'm failing to understand how someone can see someone earning $20'000 a month and think 'He could use my support' You don't understand basic human psychology. People don't want to back the losing horse. They want to back the winning horse.
There's no point giving any money to Fred who's making $10 per month. YOUR amount won't make a difference, it won't make them "win", and nobody else is donating, so they must not be worth donating too, or it's too soon to tell.
On the other hand, the guys making 20k+ per month are obviously winning. They have lots of support, so that's good, the masses are attractive. Also importantly, they're actually noteworthy because they're making money, which makes them stand out from the bland hordes of people making $6 per year.
Basic shit.
Nathan Kelly
I'm usually a Nazi when it comes to crowdfunding/patreon but I support these guys (just not financially).
A lot of their shit is trash. Like anything that stupid talentless faggot Huber makes. But other stuff like their retrospectives and even their reviews are surprisingly good shit. Their podcast isn't worth listening to and is overrun with shitty recurring segments and patreon fan service.
Overall, not bad. They make some good stuff with their money but not enough to make me a supporter of them as a whole. You just have to sift through that shit to find good stuff.
Daniel Perez
I like easy allies a lot.
Thomas Harris
Granted I could have done more research on the group as a whole. It was the initial amount that struck me. Individuals still make considerable amounts for questionable things though.
Dominic Diaz
Huber said story is more imporant than gameplay. He's a faggot.
Justin Lewis
He talks like he had a fucking stroke. I think he sucked a dick too hard and it brained him
Lucas Turner
Best: Kyle
Worst: Ian
Overrated: Huber
Underrated: Brad
Mason Rogers
These guys makes a lot of content, and have really very little behind a pay wall. I think only the podcast 2 days earlier and Cup of jones that you can access for as much as a buck a month. I backed them before, and want to do it again, but the paypal account I used was dry, so I'm gonna ask a friend to lend me his because I'm too old fashioned to have plastic, and can't bother to have it one for myself.
Don't say this. Even if you corrected yourself, just leave this out. The only people who complain about this sorta shit are people who are jealous. Always.
If you care that much about what other people are doing with their money, you are retarded.
Jace Collins
>what the fuck is paying for TV?!?!?!?!?!??!?! People tend to pay money for things they want. They know that paying this guy ensures that he continues to make these videos and can spend more time making them. They also want to show their appreciation for what he is making.
Holy fuck you're such a god damned violent pedophile jesus fucking christ.
Dominic Butler
I don't care user I just wanted to debate, the correction was more of a joke in itself. I understand.
Carter Martinez
>look them up on youtube >fucking 60k subscribers which is a laughable amount >unedited shitty 2hr long footages of them discussing pokemon or whatever >views range from about 10-15k to 20-30k >none even break 100k Can someone explain this to me? They obviously have next to no fanbase and their audience is really fucking small. Where the fuck did they find all these people that want to donate to them then?
Easton Jackson
Did Jones play Pokemon ends in chapter 9? I haven't seen it yet, but if that's the case, I wanna get comfy before watching it.
Gabriel Thompson
I'd like answers for this too. It seems quite strange that their vids only get a couple of thousand views and yet their patreon has absolutely exploded.
Are they doing stuff outside youtube?
Daniel Long
Is really 60k that little? I mean, there's people with over 500k that make really shitty video, granted, but I don't think it's a bad number per se. They had a big following from the days of Gametrailers, and they may not be that big, but they're dedicated.
I dunno, I like the guys, I follow them, and enjoy their stuff.
Except for that Hinck faggot, they never get into a soapboxy mode to preach unrelated shit. Which to me is a plus, it's just guys that like vidya talking about vidya.
Bentley Bennett
They're all ex Gametrailers employees who already had an obsessive and dedicated fanbase.
