I'd throw Little Inferno in the mix. Got recommended it by a friend and I have never been so bored in my life.

I have never been able to play any Tactics Ogre game for more than an hour before falling asleep. The pace is just so slow.

I love the TO games but the vanilla Ogre Battle games get extremely boring

Send the same exact squads out over and over, except use Clerics if the enemy has undead

I tried to think of the most boring game possible that I actually forced myself to play at one point and this was what most came to mind.

Everything about it is bland. Which makes it all the more funny that people at the time were saying games like Quest makeup for a lack of other RPG's on the system.

Not the entire game, but Xenoblade Chronicles has a lot of its quests being boring and tedious. Most of it requires fetch quests and simply knowing and going to places to the next person you're supposed to talk at the right time. The worse has to be Alcamoth where everyone spread throughout the city and there's very little landmarks you can fast travel to. Although it had its rare fun gems like when you had to rescue that Nopon merchant from the lizard people or when you went to investigate the ruins in the jungle.

Ni No Kuni

While its a visual novel and not really high on the gameplay scale, Steins;Gate was a really fun ride and a nice take on the Time Travel genre, focusing more on the science behind it and the repercussions involved.
