Why is the owl stuck in there? Who forced it in? It looks like it wants out really bad. Is this the most retarded character design of all time?

>Not wanting an owl staff

More importantly where did her breasts go?
And why is her eyes red instead of blue?

>What kind of Belmont you want?
>Ever seen Death Note?
>Say no more.

It's funny because they hired the Death Note artist
and apparently gave no oversight regarding the design.

That's not the SotN Maria, it's the Rondo of Blood one, hence no tits yet.

Takeshi Obata, the guy that drew death note did the freedoms designs for judgement. So we have Misa Renard, Light Belmont. The only good designs in the game were the werewolf guy, Sypha and ninja mummy pirate Grant. Shanoa was ok, but still pales in comparison to her OoE outfit.

Why did I type freedoms? I'm tired.

>just as keikaku my shit up

>Shanoa
>Good
Are you kidding me? Look at this. Look at it. This is Shanoa? This sad ''I really wish I wasn't here right now'' pathetic piece of fucking shit?
Look at her ankles. She'd hurt herself fighting in those, let alone fucking walking and the garter-belt doesn't make any sense and isn't attached to anything. It just goes around her leggings. What's it holding? Her kneecaps from flying off?

I said she was ok, and that her original design was much better. Sure it's dumb, but I like it over the other characters in judgement

Nothing about this is ok.

I like how you can see her underwear.

Ok

>looks like she has thunder tights
>the stocking just a weird bell shape

Is Judgment even worth playing? It's probably the only Castlevania I've never tried.

I think it's less that redesign is good and more it's not quite as awful as the others.

and at least we can laugh at the "I really wish I was anywhere else" face, almost like she's aware of how awful everything is

Man, Light got shredded.

Not really, it takes place in a crack in time where the end of the true arcade mode brings everyone back to their game learning nothing and probably forgetting what had happened, like Golem attaining a sense of self. Basically nothing changes from the start to the end.

Gameplay wise it's mediocre and a wagglefest if you don't have a GameCube controller. Save yourself the money and skip it, you can watch the cutscenes if you care about the story.

I do have to say though, Maria's storyline involves her comparing her breasts to the other characters

Judgement is not really a Castlevania game. It's a gothic Vampire anime game.

It's an okay game if you go with that.

Japanese designers have a real tendency to over design characters. Adding all sorts of silly extra detail. It just makes their clothing completely impractical and draws viewers out of the experience.

There should be a rule. If you can't design that character as a Super NES sprite, you're doing something wrong. That would force the designs to be a bit more simplistic and streamlined. The most popular characters in Street Fighter are, the SFII cast, and they have some of the simplest designs.

>sypha good
>grant good

Grant looks like obata fucked oh! great in the eyesocket during air gear, and some aeon clock-like abortion came out. Sypha ain't a lot better, and cornell is spikey spike mcdeathspike: the manwolf of spikes.

I hate to tell you this, user, but since you're probably going to see it said many more times before the thread hits bottom, I think it's just you have shit taste.

Or just take Alucard.

Aside from the cape, everything he's wearing is what someone of the era might have worn.

Might be fun if you're a Castlevania fanboy and don't get hung up on the character redesigns.
I had fun with it.

...

>That fucking thing is supposed to be a knife-throwing pirate.

I have a much simpler rule:

If at any point you have to ask "How does this guy/gal take a shit?" then it's probably not a good design.

That's fine. Can't please everyone.

>tfw this is the only fighting game I'm actually good at

That's what I love about Kojima's artstyle. They look really busy, but when you look closer, it makes at least somewhat sense.

>Might be fun if you're a Castlevania fanboy and don't get hung up on the character redesigns.

if you're a castlevania fanboy you're far more likely to get hung up on character design

Castlevania has a history of making somewhat realistic simple designs.
