Why does everyone remember that shit so fondly? I was 13 years old when MW2 came out, I put at least 14 days of playtime into it and had a ~3.0 K/d, but near the end of its lifespan I realized it was a pretty shitty game with a tiny skill ceiling. I ended up moving on to better games and really saw how shit Call of Duty was.

I never said CoD did modern plot before. I said that the plot of 4 was unoriginal at the time because yet again it involved burgers vs russia. It would've been a better game if they made an original setting instead of using again russians that want to attack the US for no real reason other than "it's cool, right?".

I was 15 when MW1 came, and I much more rather play Crysis 1 mp (with vehicles and real maps) than reskinned CoD 2 with same type of shitty game engine / limitations / small maps... it's like whole new breed of kids found online shooters with CoD MW1 and didn't ever get "bored" of CoD 1-2 engine/map limitations (not to mention the player weapon model takes almost half of the screen)

I've played recently servers are still going and there's still plenty of people playing. Unfortunately, they aren't maintained anymore so there's cheaters. Still plenty of good servers though and you can just leave any games with cheaters.
