It's more complicated than that. MMOs usually have player cooperation and rarer so competition. Pokemon idea is too different from that. In order to cooperate there should be tasks where 1 person cannot achieve the result. But in Pokemon games every player is self-effecient. And on the contrary the only deep player interaction is through combat. So true Pokemon MMO just won't work as well since it doesn't really have to be MMO at all.
Why? That means they have guaranteed exclusive games for their consoles meaning they're automatically worthwhile.

Nier was constantly flopping back and forth, once when someone said they were 'looking into more platforms', another saying full exclusive, Sony's own list classifying it as a timed exclusive, and then back to full exclusive again. My bet is that Nier will inevitably see a PC version, if only because Square has been porting everything they've published. Dragon Quest Heroes was ported to PC two months after the western PS4 release, literally without a trace besides a Steam advertisement.

I mean it's fine to port them over since PC is not a direct competitor platform to these consoles. Steam is there to digitally and cheaply port your games some time after the original release in order to squeeze out more money. Also without wasting resources in advertising. Nothing wrong with that.

Can't say much more about Nier 2, but there have been a few 'recent' Jap ports (Neptunia VII, DQH, and EDF 4.1) that appeared to have done well enough, and Square just might. This gen saw a lot of Jap ports to PC, and an increasing number of them are leaning closer to 'recent' rather than 'console leftovers'. PS4 can keep Nier 2 for all I'm concerned, I'm just saddened that Yakuza will never show up.

DQ heros came to PC because it bombed so hard on PS4, it was planned to be a full exclusive. Sony has nothing to do with Niers exclusivity, however, Platinum themselves have confirmed it as a full PS4 exclusive but ultimately it's publisher decision, they can go back on their stance on its excusivity overnight as we saw with DQ Heros. Sony might purchase full exclusivity for Nier though, that's also a possibility.

DQH sold 700K copies on PS4, 490K on PS3 in Japan only. The Steam release sold less than 30K, which is disappointing, but I'm positive it at least made their money back. It sold the most in Japan, chances of it coming to the west are slim at best, to say nothing of a PC version.
Yakuza is one of those games that just barely leaves Japan in the first place, and sells reasonably poorly to boot. I can't vouch anything about how much a Steam port will help, but it would definitely offset the localization costs faster. Sega doesn't care about PC, though, it's just a place where they dump old ass games that no one asked for.
