It actually has a lot of story, it just isn't spoonfed to you and you have to actually pay attention.
It has a story, it's just kinda negligible and is hard to distinguish from world-building. Thankfully story isn't the focus of the game, it's the combat and atmosphere.
Good. No story to distract, gives you focus, makes you stronger.
VERY STRONK
POOMP MY MOOSCLES
wtf i hate fromsoft now
What's up with the recent hate toward story-driven games?
And to think that Sup Forums circlejerked Snake Eater at one point.
Okay then. What are the Great Ones trying to do? Why was the Moon Presence maintaining the Hunter's Dream?
The whole thing is just a plague fever dream anyways.
Silky smooth cinematic 24 fps
Because modern stories are jewish propaganda to encourage race mixing and reduce racial unity between whites.
Really though look at EA stories. They're all shit with relationships shoehorned into them and whatever. From games are more like a story you experience rather than have told to you with unnecessary shit.
I wouldn't want all games to be like that but in this current climate it's refreshing
I didn't imply that you get all the answers, all I said was that there is in fact quite a lot of story to delve into.
There are various theories of course, but how can mere mortals even begin to figure out what goes way above our heads.
we need more insight
No hate, it's just nice to have a game once in a while where you don't have to sit through tons of cinematics or dialogue, not saying games with lots of cutscenes/dialogue are neccesarily bad it's just not what I want to play all the time.
to throw hunters at mergo until mergo dies
get the fuck out of here cuck
It has a minimalist story
Gameplay comes first, and can be enjoyed without paying much attention to story at all
There is a vague story and the whole point of it is that you won't understand it. It just adds to the air of mystery and horror the game has.
It's more akin to Metroid or Majora's Mask, than modern AAA titles.
Sonyoggers truly are the easiest to bait
the great ones each has their own objective, the moon prescence wants to kill the other great ones
Bait into what exactly?
Into getting those sweet sweet (You)'s
OP literally did this thread a couple hours ago and got BTFO. The thread turned into Bloodborne fun posting.

nice fanfic
this is nothing official dude. don't be that guy
There hasn't been another game in a long time that I was so invested in the "story." It was minimalist so it was fun to get ideas for what's going on and read other people's theories. Sure a lot of it was absolute drivel that retards ate up because hurr all theories are good theories, but the good shit was fun.
lore > story
story in video games are fucking shit
Nothing will ever be official. Miyazaki has moved on.
How much does this even cost? The one with dlc.
like 30 used, if you don't buy at gaystop. dunno about new. i don't buy new
OP I am hijacking your thread for a short message:
I am the scrub from yesterday. Just wanted to thank Sup Forums for the actually useful advice.
Before today, I struggled with this game for four months, making no progress at all. Ive read and watched some guides, followed your advice and about an hour ago, I just killed the cleric beast got my first fucking trophy and am now level 22. Thanks guys!
>What were the great ones trying to do
They are a species where each member is truly unique, so reproducing is nearly impossible. That was their main goal. Individually, each of them had their own goals as well, he moon presence being the most active one. You can actually see how they reacted to humans differently.
Ebreiatis gave her blood to help, Kos gave them eyes because they asked her to, Mensis tried to be as passive as possible but his mere presence drove everyone mad. Rom shielded humans from the true mare of the world to keep people from going mad - you can see how everyone falls apart when you kill him.
>the moon presence
The moon presence wanted humanity to kill the great ones, presumably to free us from their presence and do as we wish.
Most Great Ones tried to help humanity, but we ended up killing them all anyway. At least they were well intentioned, even if they did hurt more than help.
>I just killed the cleric beast got my first fucking trophy and am now level 22
>killing cleric beast at level 22
scrub jk, glad you're making progress
>ebrietas gave her blood
No.
Also, moon presence pretty much just wanted Oedon dead. You can't say it wanted humanity to be free of the great ones when its first act post Mergo-bortion is to claim another surrogate (providing you kill Gehrman)
Also, 'mensis' is not a great one, that refers to the other scholarly branch of the Healing Church, the School of Mensis.
The brain of mensis, however, is a great one. Living String implies it was trying to help the school out
