> Want to reform germanic faith > Can't, because moral authority is all times low > It's so low because my "brothers in faith" keep declaring wars and invasions they can't hope to win > Decide to take it into my own hands, declare an invasion of Frisia to grab Zeeland > Get fifteen thousand men from various sources > And that's just my own men, I'm not counting my allies from Russia and England. > It's time for war! > Okay, I'm getting BTFO, but my allies will surely help m- > All of my allies, who should be joining my war, are casually chilling in their own lands > They seemingly forgot how to use boats
Why does AI hate the player so much?

when will they have a crusader kings game with proper battle complexity? I want crusader kings with the battle complexity of their WW2 series.
Angel Rodriguez
yeah the """battles""" in this game are horrendous >have 1000 spearmen defending on a a hill >2000 cavalry attack and completely defeat me with barely any losses why even pretend its not about big numbers beat small numbers
Joshua Reyes
Aren't spearmen light infantry? Is there anything worse and more useless than light infantry in this game?
Jonathan Harris
New expack looks good By the way, never had op problem, ck2 is one of the few games where your allies aren't retarded

David Williams

>Humiliate. The prisoner is degraded in some fashion; such as being tarred and feathered, or forced to do a “walk of shame”. This also causes them to lose prestige and be generally looked down on. >Torture. The prisoner is caused a certain amount of pain; such as being whipped, or stretched on the rack. May cause them to become Stressed or even Depressed, and can cause you to lose the Kind trait. >Mutilate. Only available to rulers with certain traits, such as Cruel or Impaler, this causes the permanent loss of a body part. May lead to you becoming Cruel if you are not already, and can cause them to gain Stressed or even Lunatic. >Bad poetry. Rulers with the Poet trait may deploy their very worst poems against a prisoner. While a comparatively mild punishment, it nonetheless has a slight chance to drive them mad. >Consume. Rulers who are either Possessed or Lunatic and also have the Cannibal modifier may simply eat their prisoners. If you haven’t disabled fantasy content, this may lead to you “gaining the power” of your victim.

Evan Sullivan
You've been playing too much Total War my friend.
Tyler Carter
depends, the dutch culture buildings and special units enhance light infantry to the point they can actually stand up to heavy cavalry charges
Jacob Stewart
>try to play this game >feel stupid
I want to learn, I really do, but its hard to learn when so much shit is going on that I don't even know how each action i make is affecting everything else. Am i expected to pause after each day and look at every other country to see what they are doing?
Wyatt Williams
watch a youtube video then play either ireland or iberia
Jose Brown
>invading the Karlingblob with only 15k men
that's your own fault buddy, reformed germanic faith is an ahistorical situation which is always significantly more difficult than historical ones
that said how did you only managed to get 15k men for the invasion? prepared invasion gave me, playing as a custom kingdom of gotland, mann and the shetland islands (one of the smallest possible custom kingdoms in the game), more than 30k men which was indeed sufficient to wage a war for the kingdom of germany
Mason Kelly
notice: playing as either should not be attempted in any start earlier than 1066 playing ireland during the viking era just gets you raped

>allying anyone on the British Isles in any Paradox game ever It's almost like they're deliberately programmed not to help you at all.
Gabriel Parker
just break it down it's really simple. Click the shield of your starting county and click the de jure button. Then plot and scheme to get the territories needed to make the duchy/kingdom/empire.
gavelkind is pretty easy to handle if you just give some land out to each of your kids just try and keep one good duchy for your heir.
James Sanders
dunno, during my current HOI4 game the British are my greatest ally (playing as Belgium) actually land troops through the ports I desperately held early game, royal navy protecting my shores to the point I never had to build even a single ship etc.
france on the other hand even when having the luxury of belgium building and protecting their own version of the maginot line still manages to let the friggin' italians break through in the south
