Playing osu with a mouse is like playing IIDX with a keyboard.

A cheap tablet costs the same as a ps2 KOC, they're as accessible as each other.

I had to dig through unranked songs to find a lot of non weeb stuff. Sucks because its a crapshoot and a lot of the non ranked charts are absolute trash. I've found some good stuff though in unranked.

Just because it's simple to play doesn't mean it's casual. It has some of the hardest charts on an official music game release and the timing windows are very strict.
That and you lose a considerable amount of life if you miss notes.

If it takes literally years to master what's already currently available, surely harder maps would have been made by then, right? Besides, 99% of the playerbase won't even make it to that level of play. Let alone catch up with the more and more difficult maps being made.

The series manages to stay alive because it also gets a ton of easy charts along with the retardedly hard ones.

Leggendaria in arcades is only 2 years old now. It existed in some extent for home consoles but limited. There still is no people who can score Mendes Black Another in any reasonable way.

I just like the EBA skin. Pretty nostalgic for me and isn't as tacky as most of the other popular ones. The new vanilla one is a lot better now though, I ended up replacing the EBA hitmarkers with the vanilla ones to clean up the play area a bit.

Once you get really good and hit the final wall, you realize that many of the top players cheat. It's horrible knowing that those who aren't good glorify many of those cheaters when they haven't worked for it. beat hazard didn't seem to adapt enough to my tastes. Sure a metal track will give you more of a seizure than a country one but it never really felt different or coordinated by the music.
