Why is this allowed?
They didn't put any effort into disguising the edge of the skybox. Pathetic.
Why is this allowed?
What do you want us to say, user?
I love chocolate milk
>not knowing the lore behind the edge of the skybox
read those item descriptions dumbass
you don't have to say anything, he's trying to convince you the game is bad. basically it's anti-dark souls propaganda. pointless post.
Did you put some type of orange filter on the game?
I use f.lux to make my screen easier on the eyes at night so it tints it orange.
>somebody shows a valid point about the game
>HURR DURR IT DOESN'T MATTER IT IS POINTLESS
ladies and getlemen, here you can see the master logic of a soulfag
For comparison's sake, here's the same scene from the cathedral of the deep, as opposed to farron keep in the first one. Over here, they properly applied a blur effect where the skybox ends, but they were too fucking lazy to do the same everywhere.
Miyazaki is a fucking hack.
Mountains out of molehills
>Valid point about the game
Hardly. Who the fuck even cares about this? It doesn't impact the game at all, and certainly isn't gonna change my opinion about it. All games have areas or places which haven't been fleshed out graphically.
>I've never seen a horizon
go outside
it's the horizon you dumb fuck
It is valid. You can't say it isn't valid, just because you personally don't care about it.
Fact is, someone went out of their way to create that scene, and either overlooked that detail, or shirked it.
It's just one of the many signs that this game is an unfinished piece of crap that was rushed out to please the shareholders of bandai namco.
Here's another one. Missing textures, in wolnir's room, in the final fucking release of the game. What the fuck?
I hope you realize that horizons are just straight lines. Because of the distance+the curvature of the earth, you are unable to distinguish elevation at that point. So it appear flat.
The problem with the horizon in the OP, is that it's actually very slightly angled. subtly breaking the illusion of a true horizon.
The first picture is more realistic. I have never fucking seen a horizon in my life that blurs at the edge.
>valid point about the game
>random skybox shit instead of pointing out how there is still no poise
wow god is fucking lazy didn't even put any effort into disguising the edge of the skybox
If you're going out of your way to complain about small details, then isn't that a mark in the game's favor that nitpicks are what come to the table when the time comes to criticize?
I could point out that this souls game had a lot of odd balance decisions regarding weapons and magic and that created a "best" way to play, or how some areas the enemies were so closely grouped that it felt like the worst parts of ds2. Or maybe the level design and the game generally feeling the most linear out of the three dark souls games.
But this user brings the symbol to the table? That's as valid a complaint as saying the game doesn't look quite as good on consoles - you're right but it means so very little comparatively.
Are you sure that's not unique to your system?
And? I doubt anyone was looking over their anyways. The rest of the game certainly makes up for a small flaw like this, I will say though, previous installments definitely did better with this. Hell even DS2 looks better
It's consistent on everybody's, just like the random purple tint on one of the pillars in that same room.
nope everyone has those missing textures
It happens on the PS4 port. I think there's also some rocks in Archdragon Peak that aren't textured either (though it's less noticeable there because all the rocks are white anyways).
Have you tried your hand at any art? I have. I'm an artist, and I can tell you that when you're attempting to create an image, you look out for details like that. Because the devil is in the details. What may appear inconsequential to you, as a game player, is a valid issue as the artist whose job it is to create the best imagery within my power.
Someone conceptualized the scene, drafted it, modeled and rendered it. It was all meticulously placed. What you see is no happenstance. And it was all done to try and create the best visual experience they could.
No, but I see your point ( what with being a writer and having hiccups in the text or dialogue shit me off) and given the souls games focus on visual design for atmosphere, I can get what you mean about noticing something that would be otherwise glossed over by others.
Fair point user.
I consider writing an art.
OP's image looks bad because the specular shader is terrible, the water texture tiles way too much, and the fog is poorly rendered. It's shit and there's no excuse for it. This is coming from a fan of DS3 and Souls in general.
>Hell even DS2 looks better
Don't meme user. DaS2 was 10 times worse in this regard.
DS2 was literally a PS2 game in every regard. And not the good kind
How you want your pine forest senpai?
its dark souls user. unmodded morrowind looks better.
PS2-era games generally looked better than that screenshot because the artists had to do everything by hand. That screenshot is the result of the devs just using the terrain generation tools they had to crank something out with a minimal amount of effort, whereas if it was a PS2 game it would probably have been a flat, hand-painted background or something because that would have been the only feasible option. Things like that still don't usually look great under scrutiny, but they usually don't look distractingly awful either.
