I could never beat that boss when I played the game, but it could have pertained to the fact that I was 6 or 7 rather than mentally retarded, like you
>not just cheesing everything with mushroom items and 99 of every mushroom you can buy+multihit attacks for maximum dammage.
>not grinding for endless beans for infinante stats.
fucking pleb, get off my board.
I was really disappointed that this game didn't have endgame content.
After beating the final boss, you get back to the title screen and you will never walk around the restored castle town again.
But otherwise it was a really fun game, blew my mind a bit too for being a GBA game.
Bowletta was harder.
>couldn't into rpgs very well when I first played it
>ran away from most battles
>had the patience of a special needs teacher when fighting bosses over and over after constantly losing
>that part after the final boss where there's a countdown to escape
>not grinding for endless beans for infinante stats.
How do you do that? Wasn't there a certain type of bean that could run out?
I heard someone wanted unfair ass fucking.
To test you, the player.
It's the same with the puzzles. They start of pretty brain-dead, but by end-game they become real head scratchers, sometimes really tedious.
It's supposed to make the end of the game have more impact too.
Nobody likes an absolute cakewalk of a boss at the end of a rpg.
Well, you could get endless Teehee beans from the minigames, I believe you could make a drink with that that boosts a random stat.
Then near the castle town you could grind some enemies for a certain bean too that can make, I believe, a drink that boosts HP.
I think the ones you have to dig up are limited, at least I don't recall any other way to get more of those.
There were four types of beans, right?
I can't remember it too well any more.
Is this better than Paper Mario?
i don't know
yeah
They're different. I like PM better but I wouldn't say it is better.
no, superstar saga is GOAT
If you mean Paper Mario, then yes. If you mean TTYD, then no, but it's very close
Superstar Saga > Bowser's Inside Story > Paper Jam = Dream Team > Partner's in Time
There is no arguing.
youtube.com
It's a good job this theme was so god, because I spent nearly 3 hours listening to it. I didn't even die. It was just that long and hard of a fight. Turns out there was some gear that Fawful sold that trivialized the fight, but I didn't get it.
I thought Dream Team was much better than Paper Jam. I thought Partner's in Time was also much better than Paper Jam.
I was do disappointed in Paper Jam.
>BIS that high
kek, that game was garbage
>needing to grind in a fucking rpg Mario game
Git gud, all you need is a not shit-tier equipment and bro attacks spam
So we can all agree that Joke's End is the absolute greatest name for an area in videogames, correct?
Say that to my face fucker not online and see what happens
Best boss in the game.
youtube.com
Shame there is no higher quality version of this song.
I don't remember that, and I don't get it.
Surfing mini-game. It gives infinite beans of 3 out of the 4 types. Other minigames give the 4th in infinite numbers. Before that the hidden block beans are the most limited.

Putting aside my grotesque hate for that place, sure.
Use the Great Force you fuck
I love how the final boss theme quality reflects the game's quality
Sticker Star and Paper Jam's being the worst
>Mario RPG
I like it a lot, it fits well too and keeps you excited.
>implying those final boss themes weren't the shit
>implying PJ's final theme isn't better than Adventure's End
Adventure's end is still good though.
Paper Jam's is super generic, and boring in comparison.
Especially considering it's a fucking DOUBLE BOWSER fight.
Also it sounds super similar to another fairly recent song I cannot place, except it's worse.
>Not PiT at the top of them all
Right, no arguing with retards who can't appreciate the best and only true jrpg on the whole M&L series.
I wouldn't call it the best, but you are right. Only retards think PiT is a bad game.
anyone done the thousand year door on an emulator?
>implying
Partners in Time final boss music is probably the best/second best, but the boss itself is the most boring and tedious piece of shit that I've ever played against. It isn't even hard, it's just a damage sponge that takes eons to beat.
Yes. It runs very well but commands are very tedious with the keyboard. You should use a controller if you have it.
Oh shit, I actually forgot about PiT's Final Boss theme
I'd consider that the exception
thx for the feedback&advice, always wanted to replay that gem

>>final boss 2 theme

Your opinion should be discarted
Why these fuckers are so hard to dodge holy shit.
Wario's Castle in Mario Land 2 is the highest difficulty spike of any Mario game. Prove me wrong.
that one sucks compared to 2, sorry you're of wrong opinion
I can't. At least shit like The Perfect Run and Champions Road are optional. Wario's Castle is required to finish the game and is complete horseshit
No thats wrong
I never knew you could break the game so harshly. Game wasn't easy but wasn't too hard for a kid. I do remember being stuck at BeanBean University for a while though.
Frankly I think the new ones are just boring, they don't even go to any cool locations anymore. Bowser's Inside Story had a fucking tooth beach as a notable location. Not to mention the half-2D half-3D stuff was shit, and bowser's gameplay was slow and annoying.
It was a great way to pad out a game that's 2 hours long otherwise, since you lose all of the six gold coins when you game over.
Can't we just get along and agree that all the music is pretty sweet especially compared to later games?

I didn't mind the Dreamy locations in Dream Team.
Paper Jam was boring though. Literal Desert, Snow, Fire, Fields.
I tried the demo for Dream Team and thought the combat sucked, so I didn't bother with it.
Some Sonic games have great soundtrack, and yet, the same are considered bad for some people.
I don't follow your logic.
The whole games piss easy though.
I played it through recently and killed basically every boss in two turns just by slapping the double damage accessory on Mario and spamming Chopper Bros.
2003. You have then less than 20 years, please, return to school and leave Sup Forums to adults.
most people have differing opinions, but i like M&L more than PM.
Was he the coolest guy in the game?
Improved mix
youtube.com
I know right? It's as good as BIS
That does sound quite nice.
Though in my opinion sax doesn't sound rough enough.
But great performance nonetheless.
Wait, WHAT? Fucking wario was in the game?
Originally the Bean Cafe would have different Nintendo characters come in for every drink you made, like Wario and Link.
They were replaced with Gadd in the final game but I think some of the sprites are still available in the data.
Beats me, OP, beats me
With these guys, it always seems like I'm gonna beat them, and then I get done in by one of their fucking Dry Bones minions. It's been 2 days and I still haven't beat these faggots.
that's pretty shit to some other remixes out there.
youtube.com
Oh, what a shame then
Who else loves the brotherhood between the Mario Bros in these games?
Holy shit, I remember this song from some Mario RPG remix album I downloaded from some website dedicated to Mario RPG.
I believe the site is gone now, can't even remember the name, must've been some 10 years ago.
OCremix is alive and well.
I do.
It's funny how with absolutely no dialogue, Alphadream gave them better characterization than most JRPG protagonists
I want to say that they do Bowser better than anyone else
ignore this post, thought you were referring to OCremix
Well yeah, obviously.
He wasn't that difficult. Just get good using Bros attacks. That and grind to level up.
>Final battle against Cackletta's Soul
>post yfw 1HP
Finally an opinion I agree with completely
I really should get around to replaying this game, it's really fucking great.
>this happens multiple times
>the whole fight took me half an hour
>then there was that escape sequence
>after the credits the game restarts and there is no endgame content
>mfw playing through that boss rush sidequest in BiS
shit was balls to the walls, more RPGs should really try that.
>Extended
the texture patch is great buts its not fully finished so there's a clash with hd and sd textures. still worth using tho.
