EA is making another Dungeon Keeper. This is the advanced marketing squad. Screencap this. They will announce it within a year.
Oh, Clearly.
>capturing heroes and torturing them until they turn to your side
Absolute best. This game probably contributed to my corruption fetish.
>Bullfrog
F
So, If someone made a new game would you want more of this? if so explain.
I always like turning them into ghosts myself and skeletons actually.
Game of my childhood, loved putting knights in jail and slapping the everliving shit out of them.
It's not the samme, but War for the Overworld scratches the DK itch.
>Capturing Lord of the land on first map with a prision and torture chamber.
>Convert him
>Use the send creature box on every map. to have an op creature from the start.
Fun times.
I felt that it suffered the same as DK2 did. Being kinda slow.
Ofc I havent tried it in a long time so I dont know how its now.
I hope y'all niggas play using KeeperFX and not the shitty DOSBox version.
There are a few maps where you don't get that, btw.
Send creature.
Ye I know. But most maps had 1.
Best Dungeon Keeper. Best gameplay mechanics, best atmosphere, good dark humor. The sequel is not a bad game by any means, but definitely inferior to the original.
What do people think of dungeon keeper 2? It felt nothing like DK1.
What exactly does it add? I only have the gog version.
I'm one of those fags who preferred Dungeon Keeper 2 over dungeon keeper 1, maybe it's cuz I played 2 before 1, but regardless the games incredibly fun and enjoyable
I just wish EA didn't fuck it all up for everyone like usual
HORNY
I prefer the sequel. Losing the babby dragons was bad, but the new monsters, particularly goblins, made up for that. And it absolutely continued the feel and tone of the game while adding more features.
My Pet Dungeon best mode of all modes.
One of the best games ever for me, way ahead of its time.
The darkness, the atmosphere, the music and sounds, the ability to control your monsters in first person. Tiny little details.
I wish they made another one like the first DK, DK 2 lost something on the way for me.
And that intro, oh my god, absolutely fantastic.
Lost what?
I don't get people who hate on Dungeon Keeper 2. For me it was a straight upgrade. I love both, but 2 is the one that stands the test of time in my opinion.
I'd say it was mostly the darkly-gloomy feel. DK2 was a bit too colorful and cartoonish for my taste. Also, didn't like the mana mechanics and the amulet (artifact? don't remember) thingy with the Reaper.
Not that guy, but here's what I dislike about Dungeon Keeper 2:
>only humanoid creatures, gone are all the cool monsters from the first game
>dizzy effect your creatures get whenever you drop them
>terrible creature management bar. who fights who? where? because of that you can't heal your minions from that bar but actually have to aim with your mouse on the screen at a particular creature in all that clusterfuck of a fight. don't fix what's not broken
>your mana is now dependent on how much money you have for some reason
>dumb lowbrow humor
Not sure what you are talking about with an amulet, I don't remember anything like that.
Both were pretty Pratchett-tier cartoonish and had very dark sound effects and ambience, DK1 just had a more washed out brown palette.
The casino shit was pretty silly in DK2 I'll admit, I just never built any to avoid it.
>only humanoid creatures, gone are all the cool monsters from the first game
Not even vaguely true, it's just dragonlings spiders and beetles that were removed, but we got Salamanders who were pretty chill. Most importantly we got goblins, who were amazing.
I mean the thing in the campaign where you couldn't just create the Reaper in the temple, but had to use a one time (if i recall correctly) special item that summoned him.
>your mana is now dependent on how much money you have for some reason
That is DK1 not DK2.
Yeah sorry, meant the other way around.
Oh right. Yeah, that was shitty, I loved creating a tiny personal dungeon for Horny so he wouldn't rekt everyone else in DK1.
DK2 had lots of new features, just simple shit like imps leveling from doing imp things not the training room made a huge difference.
I had huge dungons will massive treasure rooms, later figure that building small rooms was better.
Wish someone would recreate a typical dungeon in a similar fashion to this video so we could still experience that bullfrog feeling but with no fear of it being taken down because it is just an hommage.
youtube.com
but DK1 holds a special place in my heart but has no possibility of a future that wouldn't be an abomination before god
Awesome video, will have to save that as reference now.
Big question, if someone did make a recreation what would you want in it?
Thats a bit similar to fable music wise and style would you want something like that? given that i'm working on something similar to DK.
>What exactly does it add? I only have the gog version.
- high resolution and widescreen support
- support for 12 languages
- support for multiple campaigns (Ancient Keeper, Burdened Imps' Level Pack etc.)
- contains a rewritten game engine with improved AI and bug fixes
- TCP/IP multiplayer support
probably start with some views of a natural cave and the sounds of mining then a few of a treasury room with just a glimpse of a imp(those miner dudes) slipping out into a hallway then traveling through the hallway seeing a few of the types of rooms ending in a meeting with some of the monsters.
or just the enviroments we don't have to make a trailer out of it
Oh, You just want a trailer video.
I was talking more of a game.
sounds nice and just look up some videos of MediEvil games the atmosphere and music are great
I unironically started liking this song when I pretended that the lyrics were describing EA rather than Dungeon Keeper.
EA did kill bullfrog, according to an old article they took all the money from the studio and pretty much killed it as they couldn't pay their people.
That's why DK3 never came out.
>HAND OF EVIL STRIKES AGAIN
Yeah, it's pretty evident.
Even if they were, no one is gonna buy it after the travesty that was DK3
This right here is my shit
Bump
