IS THAT FUCKING SUNLIGHT WHAT THE FUCK YOU FUCKING IDIOT
i live in a civilized part of the world where my house has solar panels and can run the AC all fucking summer.
>tfw 25 celcius
Stop living with your parents or get a better job.
>stop living with your parents
Enjoy spending all your dosh on all utilities and shit while I just pay rent and get to live like a king with my money.
I closed it after I noticed, of course. But it's still funny. One of the first rays in the room.
About 40-50C
Cold, just like the shitty weather.
All the rubber grommets are melting, but other than that it's great. I'm suffering more than the computer is.
What are you people too poor to keep your temperature the same year round?
Do p95, I dare you.
>Computer on the floor.
Nigger, what the fuck are you doing?
Not that bad surprisingly.
...
I've done it several times, since I needed to stability test. Take the high temps on that image and level them out at around 60C and you've got Prime95. The delta between idle and prime95 is not that high.
Summer? What's that?
Seriously, Vancouver, what the fuck. It's like 20 outside. Get your shit together.
Yes and? Coldest air in the room, doesn't vibrate my desk, no risk of falling.
What exactly is the source of this, some youtube fail video? I need information.
Pretty good. I have a new huge case with one huge case fan in front and 3 other case fans, plus good CPU cooler. Keeps it low temp.
Luckily we have storms in the next few days and it's gonna cool off. It was horrible today in the morning though, 31 degrees.
>putting your tower on the ground with feet, dirt and dust
>being this pleb
inb4 I have fans with filters
noose yourself
Forgot pic.
>Using meme technology instead of buying the energy from another person and saving more
Why would I buy AC just for 1 month of heat? I mean I could, but that would be stupid.
How would elevating the case prevent dirt and dust from getting in?
>took my side panel off for lower temps because there's no cable management in my case and most of the power supply cables block my CPU fan
>have the air conditioner on all the time making my room very dry and cold
>accidentally touched the motherboard because I forgot that the side panel was off
And now my motherboard is in an MSI warehouse while I use my mom's old laptop.
You realize you need the case closed for proper air circulation right
Most games I play heat my room up in a jiffy, so I'm relegated to playing low graphics games if I want to play for an extended period of time.
Luckily, MGSV uses gook space magic so it runs cooler than every game I have installed besides Fistful of Frags.
I'm sure he does, but open case is better for cooling than "proper circulation". The point of proper circulation is less dust and less noise.
I do now, but when my motherboard was frequently reaching 60 degrees Fahrenheit, I thought letting more cool air in would be the best solution.
I actually got a tan yesterday. Didn't know I'm a pale ghost from working 3rd shift for 6 years.
>idling at 32
>hit 70 at some point somehow
fuck summer
Swipe your finger across the top of your wardrobe.
Idles around 30, upper 40's under load.
Pretty good.
My room manages to stay pretty cool somehow, so I don't have that problem.
My problem is dust, how the fuck so I deal with that. And how often should I dust off my PC guts?
I feel you on the dust, ese. Between central air and forced hot air heat, combined with cats, dust builds up here as well. I vacuum twice a week, and keep the cats brushed. I also clean out the inside of the case/fans/heatsinks every other week.
As often as your boyfriend dusts your guts with his semen.
No pets, just a dusty as fuck room. So I should dust it about once or twice a month?
shiiiiiieeet
That's what I'd do. Just a few spritz of canned air to loosen everything, then aim the dust towards the hose of the vacuum. Also, if it's been a while since you last applied thermal paste, take a look at your CPU. A little touch up every year or so can help quite a bit, especially if you want to extend the life of the CPU.
>You will never get user to share this background with you.
I got this PC in February, it's pretty much brand spanking new.
I also haven't stressed it much. Haven't played anything that's graphically demanding really and I haven't played much in general. From what you're saying, changing the paste is a once a year thing especially if you play intensively. So I'm good on that.
This dust thing is really the main problem, looks like I gotta do a full sweep around the entire room and then get some canned air for the PC because I'm scared shitless of messing up some sensitive part.
The point of proper circulation is COOLING. Open case it like a pond, closed case it like a river. If you piss in the pond (heat) it will stay there. If you piss in the river it will wash it away and replace with new fresh water (cold air).
...
No matter how unfinished MGSV was, at least the ending was amazingly optimized. I played it on med-max on my i3 3220 and gtx660 @ 60FPS.
How dod I misspell "is" two times in a row.
>dod
I will just head to sleep.
Are all of your houses fucking hot or something? I live in AZ and I have my thermostat at 74 and it's like 100+ outside.
Turn on your A/C
It's nothing too complicated, and since you've only had it 5 months the dust build up shouldn't be too bad/caked on. Just like any investment, getting into the routine of periodic maintenance is always a good habit.
>It's nothing too complicated
Yea it's not rocket science but I'm still terrified of fucking up even a single transistor.
Huff and puffing that shit down.
You never get hotboxing (lingering heat) with open case, the hot air just fucks off through the open side panel. You only get hotboxing if you have a closed case and your airflow is either not there or it's too weak to deal with your TDP.
My air conditioning has been broken for about 3 weeks. Not coincidentally, the last 3 weeks have been almost record highs down here in Alabama. I literally could not use my computer to play any vidya until 2 days ago. Thankfully, MHGen came out, so I've been occupied.
pretty good, even under load gpu never gets above 70
Show me some proof of that please. Hot air will not just magically fuck off unless you push it. That's why basic room fans work. Even if it's just blowing the same air around the room, you feel colder than without the fan. Because it's blowing your hot air from you. It doesn't fuck off of you, how can it fuck off from a box with one side open? It's impossible to have a cooler open PC vs a closed PC with a basic airflow.
...
Fuck you, user, I was trying to have a feels trip.
Thanks though
You know that hot air is lighter than cold air, right? It's gonna raise up and unless there is something in the way it's not gonna stay around. Just take your side panel off. I don't care how good your air flow is, you'll probably see temperatures drop just a little bit because it's easier for your components to get cold air.
Also, it's not like open case means no airflow. You'll still have CPU and GPU fans directing air at the parts that need it.
>He never bought a $100 window mounted air conditioner
Best computer/quality of life upgrade l ever bought. I've slept like a baby during the summer ever since I bought it.
>Fucked power bill
Objective proof:
youtube.com
You will get lower temps with open case ONLY if your closed airflow is shit. It's physically impossible for passive hot air rising to be more effective than violently ripping that air off the aluminum and replacing it with a cold flow instantly. Again, just take something flat and wave it at yourself, you will feel colder. Hot air around your skin is not rising as fast as you can blow it off even with your little credit card or a phone.
Not really
You still have airflow when your case is open. You don't magically lose your fans. The only difference is that air intake and exhaust volume is massively bigger
Also, just to point out that guy had fucking fans on his side panel. Obviously your cooling performance will suffer when you remove 2 fucking fans from your computer.
You're not supposed to do that. Not having fans on the side panel also doesn't mean your cooking is shit. In fact only cheap trashy cases have side panel fans.
>See all of these GTX 1070s under 40C when idle
What is fuck is wrong with mine?
You don't get nearly as good of an airflow with your case open. Closed case directs air from the intake, runs it through all the parts and blows it out where intended. With an open case nothing directs the air, so a big part of the intake is lost by just blowing out of the side, and not actually going through the parts.
You're welcome to find any other study and post it here. I'm just an armchair expert, if you prove me wrong so be it.
I never said you'll get a good airflow. You don't need airflow unless your case is closed. The CPU and GPU fans will provide the heatsinks with the airflow that they need, and hotbox effect from closed airflow is lessened.
Why do you need a study, just test it. It takes like 5 minutes tops. At worst you'll see no change in temperatures. The only thing that would prevent you from testing is if you had side panel fans.
Like seriously, unless you have 12k RPM delta screamers doing your intake or side panel fans, you're not gonna beat open air intake.
And just for the record, open air case is nasty as fuck because the noise levels are insane.
61 while playing vidya.
38/41 normally
Not too bad atm, loving the case I got: Cooler Master Mastercase 5
>my motherboard is colder than my room
>my CPU and GPU isn't far off either
>GPU - 45 degrees under load
>CPU - 45 degrees under load
Pretty comfy.
27-30C environment temp
Could be your ambient temperature, amount of fans, what CPUcooler you use, whether it's stock OC'ed, what case you use, a lot of fucking things, but
It doesn't even fucking matter, idle temps. are just meant to be used as a pissing contest, as long as your 1070 runs below 80C (which I believe is the temperature the 1070 clocks itself to) during load that's all you need to know.
I have a well regarded case for cooling, functioning fans, and a nice heatsink and I still get idles at 50C.
That's literally a bad thing, you know. Unless you have proper insulation so you don't get condensation. Water droplets will form on your hardware if it's below ambient temperature and it's only a matter of time until something breaks due to fluid damage.
remember to put down some new thermal paste every now and agaihn
The floor is where all the dust is.
temp doesn't matter if you aren't recording it when playing a game.
Surprised this thread isn't deleted yet. Last time I made a thread about keeping your PC cool in the summer, I got banned for 3 days.
what the fuck
>>CPU - 45 degrees under load
May I ask what CPU, what CPU fan and what case do you have?
What kind of load?
Environment temps?
45 under decent load on modern multicore CPU on air is very curious
Pic related my stuff
Its only a degree difference
fucking Florida man
Please tell me this is a joke video
It doesn't matter if it's 1 degree or 10 degrees, it's going to happen either way.
Tell you what actually is happening, though. You're wrong. Your temperatures are not below ambient. The only way to get temperatures below ambient is by using phase-change cooling.
winter where I live :)
I'm excited Sup Forums, I have an old HP from 2012 with a GTX630, today I am very possibly getting a new case, PSU, and a GTX1060. The issue is, though, my motherboard might not like the case :/
>nvidia
lmao
Stay jelly, poorfags.
:'(
>Someone else in SC has a computer
Well damn.
That's because it was December, dumb fuck.
people live in the southern hemisphere too, user
Not him but that's not even that surprising. I have a 4690k, hyper 212 and 3.9ghz and it never goes above 48c.
If anything his GPU temp is more curious.
Am I gonna make it?
>tfw AC
>he doesn't cool his computer with Liquid Helium
I kinda lied. That's in-game. It goes to 55 degrees running IBT. Just a 2500k running stock speeds cause I had stability issues at one point and never bothered fixing them, and a Noctua NH-D14.
>St. Paul, MN
80-90 degrees every day. I'm ready for fall.
It's just a GTX 670 with an arctic accelero xtreme 3.
that's not even hot weather bitch
It's actually raining right now. I should probably also get some new thermal paste.
CPU at a steady 85 celsius
? it's the proper way
>80 degrees weather
You are like baby
watch this
>HEATT
>have a 550 ti
>slowly but surely the min requirements for games aren't even including my card
>have to start running shit on medium/low to even get temps below 80c
>still get frame drops in some games
Evolve turns my room into a sauna
Send help
Nice toaster.
A little bit explanation: he does it correctl;y by using a plastic card to smudge the paste to avoid any air bubbles that form when you use finger or anything else with rough surface.
But he is insanely bad at it.
I have Core i7 3770K and these are my temp in Evolve (CPU load atached).
What is your set up? Case and game/app? Env temp?
Well, 2500k is pretty cool yeah
