What is this

boku no lurk more summerkid

>Darkholme Hospital

Which is the romhack most worth playing?

That's hard to say, because each one is great in their own way. If you want a more vanilla experience, Dependence, Golden Dawn, Legacy, Limit, and Z-Factor are what you're looking for.
If you want big changes, than Darkholme Hospital, Project Base, Hyper Metroid, and Redesign Axeil Edition are good picks.

If you want, you can look all of them up on Metroid Construction to see what you might like.

What's the best SNES emulator to play these ROMhacks on?

Any one you want. Super Metroid hacks don't have the same problem than Super Mario World hacks do.

>shitposting

Does anyone know what the target difficulty of AM2R will be?
I don't know if I can force myself through another Redesign or Z-Factor.

Finally we're getting something for the 30th anniversary and not the federation force bullshit.
I'm gonna cry

That's cool.

I wonder how long he's been at it.

A decade

Roughly like Super.

Eight years, IIRC

Can't wait for a certain little shitposter to desperately damage control and shill Federation Force

I don't know if it's the best overall, but Z-Factor has a mindblowing endgame (Tourian) area. Worth playing for that alone.

Wow. either way that's a pretty long time.

long enough to outlast lamepro

>one guy in his basement with the budget of a bowl of ramen can make a better Metroid than a crack team of 500 Nintendo developers working on a budget of several billion dollars

...

Whoah, I feel like I used to look at this blog when I was a little kid. Crazy that it's finally coming out.

metroid 2 was made almost entirely by two guys to begin with, cause nintendo didn't give two fucks even back then

What are the odds Nintendo doesn't C&D him? What are the odds they actually just buy the code and release it properly?

Both of those seem pretty unlikely imo

>someone recommends Super Metroid redesign to me
>think it's pretty stupid in alot of areas, but concede that it does have some clever moments of game design in it
>mfw getting to the end and suffering through a 25 minute escape sequence without a varia or gravity suit
>half the route involves underwater platforming

If he's not making money from it hell be fine

So is this a romhack as well or another engine like unity or gamemaker?

I'd say it feels like a completely new engine. However, don't quote me on that. It feels similar to Zero Mission.

I'm a calm person but that bullshit was the single most rage inducing "fuck you" to the player I've ever seen in 25+ years of gaming.
I've hated this hack with a passion ever since.

>What are the odds Nintendo doesn't C&D him?
Nintendo doesn't give a shit about Metroid, and the fact that it is not called "Metroid" makes Nintendo care even less. Besides, most of those DMCA/C&D letters coming from "Nintendo" in the last couple years were fakes sent by a some sad pathetic loser that has as much credibility as that guy who's "uncle" works for Nintendo.

>What are the odds they actually just buy the code and release it properly?
They'd still have to rewrite a lot of code and polish up metroid animations, so I doubt they'd ever express any real interest in it.

Agreed. I welcome difficulty, but that was nerve-wracking insanity that made me tear my hair out.

Underwater physics were a mistake.

Game Maker Studio

...

Oh boy. I don't want to be spoiled.I want to clean run through the game. ciao.

I never played the GB game

final map is much larger than that. also you should have already tried one of the demos released ages ago. you've been missing out.

I tried playing it but it was so slow and clunky that I just couldn't enjoy it, like the original Metroid.

I've found this to be a whole lot more enjoyable on the whole.

It was okay. But that's about it.

so C&D when?

When it comes out and takes away attention from Federation Force Nintendo will send in the Yakuza to eliminate all traces of AM2R.

Love and Romance

Game Maker, but he's done a fantastic job recreating the feel of Zero Mission in it.

You should try the Axeil Edition. It improves the game in a ridiculous amount of ways. Level design was massively improved, and Tourian was completely revamped, even.
There's still a long escape sequence, that still goes underwater, but it's a lot more forgiving now because the underwater physics aren't complete shit anymore.

Never, even if they did, he's already said that he would release it later quietly and would claim that he had nothing to do with it. They can't really prove it and most C&D are just scare tactics anyway.

What's the best metroid rom hack currently out?

He can legitimately make this claim, too, since he's got several testers working with him. One of them could conveniently leak the final build. It's as simple as that.

It really depends on the tastes of who you're asking. For me, it's Hyper Metroid. Aside from a shitty story rewrite, the game is amazing.

I remember seeing that fucking ages and ages ago. I thought it either got finished or died.

What a nice looking game. Would be a shame if something happened to it...

I got this

>le C&D maymay

I gave your suit a nice polish.
