I remember having a strong internal hatred for Spyro, his look, the setting and just everything surrounding the concept of his game. It was just insultingly stupid looking. None of my friends were talking about it and I tossed the thought of it aside.
Until boredom forced me to try every demo on a PlayStation Underground JamPack cd. I played that demo for like a week solid. The controls, the music, the sounds... christ. So comfy, so engaging. It was definitely up there, if not surpassing gems like Medievil.
