The old west is kind of a limited setting I feel. Anything they do seems like it would just be a retread of Redemption. I mean there's plenty of room for more old west games but people already don't seem to like every new GTA game taking place in modern times and I think that's what would start happening with them making more Red Dead games.

A direct sequel would defeat the purpose and lets face it, nobody remembers the first game. Unless the game takes place on a different part of the US or world or play as the law bringing cop, it's not happening. It takes place at the point where the country was starting to modernize, seeing the changing world through John's eyes only works once.
