Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma

Be honest, what were you actually expecting?

I dont know what I was expecting, but I was pleased with the game. Idk why people expected lots of stuff about this or that side character.

To be honest I was not expecting a grand finale since for most the game nobody really knew what was going on, also we knew going into ZTD that the VLR future was probably going to be prevented, so I don't get why people are asking "Where's Kyle?", he's gone.

I think a lot of people were actually pissed off that Kyle was only mentioned once in passing when VLR gave the impression that he was going to be an important character.

>so I don't get why people are asking "Where's Kyle?", he's gone
VLR specifically said that Sigma "would not leave Kyle behind". Yet, he basically did.

I just finished it earlier today, since FUCKING AMAZON didn't ship it to me until last week even though I preordered it a year ago.

My main issues:

-No end game at all? The previous two games had "final boss" puzzle rooms, ZTD just has eight hours of cutscenes at the end.
-No Kyle, no ???, no Clover; honestly, we didn't get anything that VLR promised.
-Delta is the worst-written character of all time, and the "I HAD to do all this stupid shit because it already happened and otherwise I'd never be born" twist should have been left behind in 999.
-At the same time, everyone shits on Delta for doing what he did but Akane and Sigma pulled the same goddamn shit in 999/VLR, they don't have the right to take the moral high road.
-C Team's English voice acting is so shit tier I had to switch to Japanese every time they were on.

>no Clover
that's probably a plus desu

But yeah, pretty much everything else you said was spot-on. At least we got some solid memes out of C-Team

Fuck im stuck
I got as much done as i can but now I can't figure out what to do next.
I'm after the force quit boxes appear in the flowchart. I still have empty answers in the chart at who killed mira, who to shoot in the 3 way standoff, the force quit boxes, and door of truth
What do?

>Who killed Mira
Be honest

Wait shit i missed the dont shoot on incinerator
This games flowchart is confusing

>who killed mira
It was you, wasn't it?!

You better tell the truth. I... don't like liars.

Answers and promises fulfilled. Instead, I got the middle finger up my ass in every timeline.

You're not even making fucking sense!

...

Is ZTD a BDSM-Torture game with a lot of femdom?

If yes, these are my fetishes.

...

He's bug-eyed as shit when he says that.

Nope
Not at all. But id like that a Hell of a lot more.

...

kyle was gab. why are people still asking where was kyle because that's literally the only choice that makes sense? once you wrap your mind around it, kyle being gab ties everything together nicely for a near perfect end to the trilogy.

...

>Still nothing pops up
Am I supposed to fucking know what the boxes answers are? I don't know what to fucking do now

Yes you are. Can you get any of them? You literally need to attack that timeline last before you can go down it.

...

>no clover femdom porn

To be continued in ZE4

I'm sure the world will keep spinning.

I am confused. Attack? If you mean fail it three times so it cancels it then yeah, but I'm either retarded or something because I have no idea what to put in as passwords. I should just google some shit.

ZE4 when?

>elite super secret government agency with espers got caught immediately when trying to go against FTS
>edgy drunk and giant retard blow up their HQ off screen
That's the biggest part that pisses me off, FTS was supposed to be some ultimate threat, and ended up being basically dead despite apparently being huge in the future.

>I am confused. Attack?
I'll be literal.

The timeline with the boxes is the last timeline you go down. You can't go down it until everything else is complete since that's where you learn the passwords from. Have you completed ever other timeline? If you haven't then don't bother with the boxes until much later.

When anti-matter reactors become a thing.

...

...

>Google some
>Realize I still havent got two executions
>Mfw

I hadn't played the other games, so I had no expectations and had no idea what the game was.

I was very impressed and enjoyed it immensely.

Feels like there were a lot more puzzles in the previous games.
Am I wrong, or?

Also, what happened to the easy/hardmode and gold files from VLR?

It just felt like a very short visual novel.

I was gonna say, you probably missed executing the other teams

Great now enjoy trying to enjoy the previous games when you already understand most of the plot

The fun begins user! Who gets it first?

You shouldn't have done that honestly. The other games are better, and you have now ruined the twists for them both

why is june such a cutie

Now play the first two games and realize why a lot of people get a mild bad taste in their mouth from ZTD.

I'm probably not going to play them as they're mobile shitters. I don't think you can have a meaningful story conveyed through a mobile gaming platform.

However, I've already forgotten a lot of the plot of ZTD so I think I could enjoy them very well unless I got stuck on VLR's puzzles.

You are wrong. Virtues Last Reward is fucking incredible. It is in the same graphical style as ZTD.

999 is the best one, you should've just went in release order.

Because she is.

Why the fuck would a mobile platform change anything when the format of the game is exactly the same?

Nothing is stopping you from playing 999 on a pc.

>I don't think you can have a meaningful story conveyed through a mobile gaming platform
That's a pretty stupid opinion. VLR's story easily outpaces ZTD.

>I don't think you can have a meaningful story conveyed through a mobile gaming platform
Is this a misguided attempt at elitism, or are you actually this stupid?

>I'm probably not going to play them as they're mobile shitters
999 and VLR are way better than ZTD. To dismiss both of them just because you choose to only play PC games is pretty lame.

I can't get engrossed in games with N64 graphics anymore unless its via gameplay. There's no excuse for the shit Nintendo pulls with their systems nowadays.

>Delta accompanies Q-team in a wheelchair the entire time
>they never mention him
>they never include him in anything
>they never grow suspicious
>they never question why a sinister looking old man is a mysterious fourth member of an established 3-man team competing against other 3-man teams
Did I misunderstand something, or was it this silly?

Dude. What the fuck are you talking about?

Maybe you should watch some videos of VLR, and you'll see it is basically exactly the same as ZTD

You are playing a glorified visual novel, dumbass.
Having anything beyond basic 2d sprites is a luxury.

The vita version of VLR looks better than most high-budget visual novels for PC.

Releasing this game to western PCshitters was a mistake.

play the game again. there's shadows bro! and when they say old man... they're talking to delta! not gab!

>this is the kind of person who enjoyed ZTD
People defending this shit makes more sense now.

It's not really surprising though.

Seeing "NEW WAIFU!!! Zero Time Dilemma - Episode 2" and "NOTICE ME SENPAI!!! XD Zero Time Dilemma Lets Play Episode 16" garbage from huge youtubers pop up felt very depressing.

A game can only have a decent community if it doesn't sell.

fresh relevant memes

Kyle is literally the one forcing multiple branching paths, the alien hand syndrome isn't a parasite or Delta using mindhaccs but Kyle expanding their options.

No it wasn't. There wouldnt BE a ZTD if not for western shitters. This series sold poorly in Japan, and was only rectified by success in other parts of the world

Hey has anybody seen Kyle since our last field trip?

Well of course. Youtubers are going to milk whatever game for what it's worth and label stuff with cliche titles. Then move onto the next thing to suck dry.

We desperately need a porn parody game.

> Ohohohoho! I am Queen Zero and you have been chosen to play the Punishment Game.

>A game can only have a decent community if it doesn't sell.
People were a mistake.

>There wouldnt BE a ZTD if not for western shitters
Of course not, but it comes at a price.
Pandering to the west is like selling your soul to the devil.

>porn parody
Nah. The memes are good enough.

Life is simply unfair.

It was stupid. People will claim otherwise because "It had foreshadowing! Therefore it's a good twist!" When it doesn't make any sense and is a twist for the sake of a twist. At least in VLR the twist made sense because we play from Sigma's perspective and discover it alongside him. Delta was just a bit offscreen and never mentioned because reasons.

I was expecting it to be a wild ride featuring returning characters I love. The ride was there. The characters on the other hand...

Also, fuck the ayy lmao fax machine, Uchi what the hell?

>VLR Akane
death was unavoidable. In order for our plan to succeed, we had to kill people over and over in different timelines.

>ZTD
BUT KILLING IS WRONG! ERASING OUR OTHER SELVES FROM OTHER TIMELINES IS WRONG!

Before the twist, I typed in Delta during the Q-team shootout part, and I just heard some latin mumbling from off-screen.

At the time, I got that he somehow shot Zero, but the twist was so nonsensical that I couldn't even spoil myself this way.

The VLR foreshadowing with Sigma being seen as a filthy old pervert was pretty great.

Also did they change how it worked or was I always mistaken, I thought they dowloaded the info gained from possible timelines instead of this shifting business. I thought the bad end timelines were always fucked so their previous selves could succeed instead of their bad ends swapping places.

I couldn't stand Akane in ZTD. In VLR, the "true" Akane you finally meet after seeing what was essentially an act in 999, is calm and calculated. She has complete control of her emotions and can put them aside to get the job done, which necessary in both games.

In ZTD we get a different character entirely. I could go into detail but everyone here who's played the game should know what I mean already.

But Sigma not being able to tell he was old in all that time was not only impossible but retarded. The good thing is that ZTD confirms he's always retarded.

im really glad they werent in 3
those 2 are fucking terrible

Was there less banter during the puzzles in this game, or is it just me?

Her personality seems to flip flop in each game.

That's true, but I could forgive that much easier than le ebin hidden wheelchair man.

Nah. There was less banter in general.

I felt that way too. Played VLR right before and remember there being a decent chunk of dialogue every time a significant part of the puzzle was finished. I recall skipping through a lot of it since it was my second playthrough. In ZTD it felt like the puzzles were interrupted more briefly.

They probably felt like they had to turn her moralfagging up to 11 in order to balance out the edge from Coldsteel the Junpeihog.

The latter was how it worked for Akane in 999. Former was how they made it in VLR. It was just acceptable to more people than unlike ZTD because it was rather limited there I guess.

In 999 we never really see the "real" Akane though, besides her as a kid which isn't really a good representation of how she would be as an adult since we see very little of her anyway.
In VLR we finally are shown who the real Akane is, as the one we see in 999 is mostly just her playing her part to guide Junpei along the right path. She was likely playing a character during the nonary game.

Feels bad.
Felt like the puzzles were just tacked on.

Mid-puzzle banter is the most comfy thing about these games.

I found some ''serious'' moments in ZTD completely hilarious, literally segment where Delta speaks he would crack me up at least once. Sigma being a terminator basically brushing off having both arms blown off and losing his eye was funny af.

Delta is such a genuinely hilarious character that it makes me wonder whether Uchi fucked up or is an absolute genius.

fixed

Brb about to SHIFT to a reality where ZTD actually tied up the loose ends like VLR said it would

Shift all you want. That timeline doesn't exist user.

Should I get into this series? I liked Ever17.

999 emulates well. It's worth a playthrough.

I own a 3DS so I have all my bases covered. I'm just wary because series like this have an easy way of going to shit.

Im back. Wow I can't believe that ending. Clover really made the right choice.

>Who will you save?

In that case, consider just playing 999.

A'ight, thanks. I'll close the thread now with my amazing spoiler dodging techniques.

He could've just said someone SHIFTed back in time and made it then but no, fucking aliens.

We got SHAFTed.

Different Akanes though.

You too? Wow, I can't believe in that timeline, Phi was more relevant even if she was still a bootstrap paradox. Not only was she the solution but she was also the source of the problems.
