Paper Mario Thread:

So, I have never played the Paper Mario games so I decided to emulate the original. Holy fuck, this is probably the most fun I've had with a mario game. I will probably buy TTYD after I complete this one since I've heard it's even better.

>Indoctrinate yourself to the eternal torment that is being a Paper Mario fan

Why would you do that?

You're in for a treat. Just don't get too excited after TTYD

One of us. One of us. One of us.

I played the wii version of paper mario fun as fuck

But the problem i have with these games and zelda as much as i like them i can never finish them without a guide and always ended up booty blasted that i had to use one and get frustrated and never end up finishing them

Remember to give Super Paper Mario a try eventually. The gameplay is totally different from the first two, but it still has a lot of the Paper Mario spirit to it. Sucks that there's no partners, though.

TTYD is tedious as all fuck.

TTYD is good, but I didn't like it as much as the original. That's a matter of taste though. Some people will also tell you Super Paper Mario is terrible, but it's still a quality paper mario game, it's just flawed.

>tfw want to play pm,ttyd, and spm but cant bring myself to ever finish them

What about Sticker Star?

TTYD has a really significant problem you have to know of.

TTYD improves on 64 in a shit ton of ways, more combat variety, arguably more interesting characters, new world that fleshed Paper Mario out as a distinct setting/series, larger world, more content...but you know when you boot up a game you want to play but then you remember "THAT PART" that makes you want to stop playing? Imagine if "THAT PART" happened like every 30 minutes. Because that's TTYD. Literally every chapter has some form of backtracking or padding that totally kills the pacing.

4/10 bait

chapters 6 and 7 were probably the weakest, and maybe chapter 1 a tiny bit, just because its a pain in the ass to grind para troopas, but thats just my preference

>grind para troopas
What are you doing grinding?

Same. In retrospect I think one of the things that impressed me with PM was I went in expecting it to be SMRPG short, and it kept on rolling. It was a beautiful piƱata that took me all through February vacation that year.

Bow is best PM64 partner, Bobbery is best TTYD partner

actually thats what kills it for me, atmosphere is really good, nice OST and probably the slickest art for the wii, but the gameplay feels kinda dull, maybe because I was expecting another RPG instead of a platform hybrid

Hooktail castle is full of those fuckers and its really annoying to evade their dive bomb, also I have a personal rule that when a battle starts either I kill or I die, never run (except with tubba bubla, but thats a special fight)

I hate that Japan and Spain got the better TTYD chapter names, just look at those

>The Bell of the Spooky Abbey

I'm there

Most of these are really bland

Its a mario game, honestly thats as slick as they can be
