>Be me, Oldfag (32) > Last game I really "loved" was Starflight for Sega-genesis, never thought I'd find one again, thought I was over vidya games for good >Don't even have a PC, keep a Mac bc I really did not give a shit >Have about ~30 games for xbox one, xbox 360, ps4 for when nephews come over-- things like COD series (were) cool before they became about strong womyenz
I forget how. but I found "Witcher 3" back in March, got it, and have been obsessed with it ever since to where if I'm not working, I'm playing it. The game is like..if Tolkien were in charge of making a video game (although wo sex and God stuff).Actually tell my GF I'm working late, brought the system and a 40 inch TV into my office to play on weekends.
Sadly, have now beat game on hardest level. Have played every inch of the game, both expansions, and now I just feel totally empty. Watcher 3 was PERFECT-- no PC bullshit, fights were OK, good sex scenes (first I'd ever seen in a video game). I know, I'm writing a blog. But my question is: anyone else feel this way about Witch 3, and is any other game comparable? The Polish studio says aren't making another..should I try elder scrolls? Pls, any help appreciated, without this game feel like my life has lost all meaning.
Leo Gomez
it was a great game, but also had it's plethora of bugs, unpolish thing, boring enemies, the plot gets very boring and predictable from the Battle of Kaer Morhen, the main villain has the charisma of a bottle, and many more things, the final boss was a disappointment
I'm Playing through HoS and I have to say the game is a gem, Vlodomir Geralt best Geralt, though the game is not perfect
Dominic Lewis
Please someone give me an idea of a game that's somewhat comparable? IF I need to, even willing to buy a "gaming computer" and use fucking windows, if the game is worth it. What else have I been missing out on? Are there games out there even better than Witchier 3, real historically accurate accurate games that don't have black africans as WW 2 German soldiers? Also, now more and more feel like I need to get an Occ Rift or one of the VR systems, which I had been avoiding for fear of wasting too much time. Now, I fear, Pandora's Box has been opened. For first time in a decade, I haven't been to the gym in over 2 weeks so I could finish witcher 3.
If there are even better games out there, I'm screwed. My one hang up-- grew up playing on console, so have to be able to install a driver for an xbox one/PS 4 controller. That may make some of you laugh, but when you spend your entire youth until age 12 (when you quit games altogether) playing like that, it just becomes ingrained. Right now, on my PS 4, I have assassins creed blag flag, tomb raider, and the unchartered trio. Are any of them worth playing? Thanks for any help...
Camden Cook
You could try Deus Ex, it has good writing with a good protagonist
though as I said, the game is not perfect, and no, the other games you mentioned are trash
Gavin Mitchell
>though the game is not perfect Feel like a complete dick bc I have nothing to compare it to, literally first game have played in 20 years other than shooting rag heads in 2 person COD until my bitch sister made me stop playing it with nephew bc it was a "bad influence" on him. Are there any games you'd say are as Good as witcher 3? Don't want to spoil anything, but Blood and Wine is 100x as good as HoS, it's like they went all out for their final game...not only fun, but also genuinely funny in places. Trust me, beat it as fast as you can to get to Blood and Wine. Can anyone tell me if skyrim, elder scrolls, etc.. are anywhere near in league this game is in? Or did I stumble onto the best game of past 20 years that happened to be the one I actually played? B and W is like being in an actual Southern european town, can't imagine what it would be like in VR, esp w. sex scenes.... REALLY wish CD project Red would just stay with this, fuck the people who didn't buy this game, it's amazing
Alexander Price
>30 is now "oldfag" >likes CoD and shit >plays 3rd game in the series and raves about it like no tomorrow >"no PC bullshit" You make me sick. Play Witcher 1: EE. The sequels were casual trash.
Landon Taylor
You should try Bloodborne.
Jaxon Edwards
The expansions are easily my favorite portions of the game.
I loved it as-well. It could do with some changes, but otherwise it handled itself pretty well. It felt epic in a good way, while still feeling personal and intricate in at least most of the side-content. Of which I mean some of it (the side-content) was very barebones, but I heard alot was cut from the game to make the deadline.
It's bretty gud, but if they had just let the devs do their fuckn job instead of rush everything for the sake of shekels it would have been a considerably more awe-inspiring game. But they never could let artisans hone their craft and perfect their work.
I was disappointed at a few parts, but not disappointed enough to hinder my thirst.
I absolutely feel the same as you after beating it and only wish it was an actual entire world instead of regions you could explore. Maybe one day..
Anyway. I read about a guy who felt the same as you, for whom the feeling persisted about a week or so and I honestly also felt empty a few days after but just give it time and let something else fill the void, another game, movies, anything to get your mind off it.
It's funny because I kinda compare it to breaking up with someone. You have to realize it was awesome while it lasted and that all good things come to an end and just move on. What you do, is your choice though.
All WE can do is pray something as good if not even better than this shows up.
It's an above-average arpg which hit in all the right places and I will sorely miss my time with it, might even pick it up again later today and start a new ng+.
There are probably some others that are as good if not better, I just don't know if they feel as well put together as this was. RDR is probably a good contender though it's a wild west setting.
Gavin Foster
Skyrim and Elder scrolls in general are pretty bad in terms of writing and characterization, the only thing they are at is world building, their games are made with the though that people are going to put mods on it to repair it
There are probably a few games that are as good as witcher
you could try the Dark souls/demon souls/Bloodborne, try the Deus Ex, try Gothic 1 and 2, the Final Fantasy series is also very good except for XIII,
there aren't that many games with quality writing im afraid
Blake Brown
Oh, have seen compared to "blood red redemption," but that's on 360 if I recall correctly and I played it 2 or 3 times and didn't like the feel of it so gave up. Why do I have so many game sI never play? let nephew use xbox and ps-4 account to buy games, sister was getting divorced and had cancer, was just trying to keep him happy (which ended up costing me about 800 fucking dollars in game he never played). But fucking Witcher 3...if America had same demographics as 30 years ago and this game came out, it would have been by far best selling game of all time. IT combines European myth, Germanic fairy tales, an element of Sci-fi.. compared to other shit out there, it's just fucking perfect.
Parker Martinez
>Play Witcher 1: EE. The sequels were casual trash. There he is.
Chase Howard
Felt the same way after B&W. You need a new game to occupy your mind otherwise you'll never get over it, literally anything will work.
Leo Thomas
watching the cutscenes for Witcher 1 and 2 is more fun that having to play through that fucking slog gameplay
Jaxon Gutierrez
HAHA NO. Nowhere fuckn near.
And don't get hung up on the controller thing.
My dad, though old, plays with one on pc too and it's easier if you're used to consoles like he was. Don't worry about it and dont take shit for it. People that berate you for using a fuckn controller for pc are pitiful to begin with.
Blake Gonzalez
you made this exact thread last week you polish shill faggot
Lincoln Perez
I didn't really notice any distracting bugs other than the fact that certain props (Geralts medallion for example) kept popping in in cutscenes. Don't know if they fixed it though, this was in the launch summer
Joshua Torres
OP, play Divinity: Original Sin. It's a much different kind of RPG and has waaaaaay lower production value but it's still tons of fun and has amazing combat
Gavin Russell
>genuinely enjoys a game >YOU SHILL FAGGOT I know shills are a thing and a shill posting on Sup Forums can happen but jesus sometimes you guys are pathetic.
Brayden Cooper
How about the first two witcher games...
Austin Walker
the exact thread was posted multiple times, it's obviously a shill thread
Jordan Martin
I agree, we need more of those Numale's Sky threads :)
Henry Morales
This seems like a decent contender as-well.
I've mostly been hearing good things about it though it's not an arpg. More turnbased strategy I hear.
But I've been wanting to look into it. Dunno if this is what op's looking for though.
Hunter Hughes
>>likes CoD and shit I take it reading comp isn't your strong point? When you are entertaining a 9 year old and have no real interest in learning the game the than point and shoot at the terrorist, then yes, COD served that purpose.
I got the second installment of witcher, only available for xbox (not going to buy the "gaming PC" yet, until and unless more games like this come out. Example- the xbox one game about Rome, where you could call in artillery strikes with your voice...that could have been amazing if not rushed and just turned into a mashup of shit.
And you an argue whatever you want, but none of the other games in the witcher series compare to 3 in terms of...anything. I know, that doesn't make me a "purist" as it does you.
Beng a "video game purist" and 50 cents will get you a cup of coffee, not much else. Witcher 3 is as good as it is because the sensors overload is almost akin to an LSD trip.
Looking at the new game the polish studio (Cr Project Red) is working on, and it looks...meh....sure it will be good quality and all, but the subject matter of witcher 3 was what made it stand out.
Last sat, I completed about 4 missions in a total blackout, so maybe go back to those sober and try to enjoy.
Christ even if they added a new extension every few months and charged $400 for it, I'd be in. For the first time in years, this game took me out of my depression. Now I'm miserable again.
Hudson Peterson
>Mediocre combat/steering/movement/everything > AI bigger joke then TES:OB >Nephew laughed watching me play "Oh man that looks horrible" >He's 7 > That's a real fucking achievement there m8. This kid is the easiest impressable faggot ever. >Story that makes me want to take a grinder to my teeth > Ending gave me cancer. >Witchfags still posts on vidya every day trying to find validation for their shit game >It's fucking 2016 m8
Alexander Flores
This.
You'd almost certainly like the second. The first might take a bit to get into, but stick with it and it's good too.
As someone else mentioned, you might also like the Dark Souls games.
Oliver Bell
>you made this exact thread last week you polish shill faggot Are you off your schizo meds? First time I've posted here in over 2 years, and that was me posting for my nephew who couldn't figure out some shitty situation in the last decent COD. When you think everyone is the same and following you around, might be time to see a doctor. Ever consider that just a lot of people are finishing the game now and all are feeling the same crash, after months and months of having this game to get them through the day?
Noah Long
Aww dude relax.
And don't you badmouth cyberpunk 2077. I got hyped for it after seeing what they did with w3. I agree the subject matter in w3 is what made it stand out, but then again it's based on the setting in the books. If you enjoy reading you could try reading some of them.
But you'll just have to sit and wait for another developer to rise from the ashes and make decent content, just like the rest of us.
Gabriel Morgan
>my opinion and my 7yo nephews are the only valid opinions >subjects aren't subjective to the observer >people can't possibly have different tastes
Name an rpg faggot and I'll just call it shit, then you'll know what I mean.
Joseph Edwards
>(not going to buy the "gaming PC" yet, until and unless more games like this come out. There are plenty of games "like that." Your obsession with such a decent game is kinda cute actually. The problem is your probably at a delusional state that any other game won't compare no matter what. Good luck with that, dude.
Jason Hill
Cyberpunk 2077 stands out more than the Witcher does. Because Cyberpunk games are not as popular as you think. Fantasy games? Please.
Daniel Thomas
I have second for xbox, going to try tonight when I get home. Thing is, after how amazing 3 was, 2 just seems...like a let down (granted, only played it for 20 mins or so). Anyway, thanks to everyone for their help. Clearly, I must be a "shill" as you all can tell, because I like a game for first time since Starlight for Sega. Am going to try 2, but just don't see how anything can compare to this one...maybe I'll play it over with a totally different build and try to get more into the spells. Crhsit, can yo imagine the number of man hours that went into this game, how every..I'm still amazed how when I get a new weapon and then there's a dialogue scene, there is the weapon. Don't know how they did it, but Gods I hope they make another one. All the crap I've payed $60=$70 for (for games I didn't even play!), it just shows how, when people really want to, they can make amazing stuff. Need more vdiya games made in Europe (like this) and more Tv shows (like Rome). thanks for advice mates, going to go...try to concentrate and figure out what I do when I get home tonight.
Gavin Bell
>Witcher 3 is as good as it is because the sensors overload is almost akin to an LSD trip.
Levi Jones
He's a faggot, that's for sure.
Caleb James
>Gods You gotta be trollin
Brandon Anderson
Wow, that face is so original. Your thoughts are so brilliant. Believe or not, some of us actually decided to spend 20 years away from games as we did UG and then law school, so we didn't end up as a NEET. I know, it' s a hard concept for you, but try friend. Now hurry before your hot pocket gets cold.
Asher Ramirez
>Looking at the new game the polish studio (Cr Project Red) is working on, and it looks...meh....sure it will be good quality and all, but the subject matter of witcher 3 was what made it stand out.
>implying generic medieval fantasy is more interesting than Cyberpunk, which only has a handful of good games to begin with.
Levi Jones
We wait for Gwent to come out. When it gets good support after release with more cards or better gamerules I can see myself play it often after hard work with a beer and enjoy destroying Nilfgaard decks.
Dominic Wood
>He's a faggot, Wow, you are so very creative. Now go home and get your shine box. It's 9 am EST, markets are opening soon, time for actual work. I know, you, as a NEET, are far superior to everyone. Your intricate knowledge of gaming must look amazing on your CV, as you sit here, trying to make yourself feel better as your look back on the car wreck you've made of your life. congrats, fatso. thanks to the normal people here, will try some of your suggestions. later.
Jace Garcia
>>Be me, Oldfag (32)
Wow. I've never cancer so concentrated in my life before. Sup Forums really is Sup Forums now.
I didn't bother reading the rest.
Carter Mitchell
I noticed a ton, I have the game updated to the last version, anyway
>torches, mages spells and shit in your hand stays with the effect and sounds in the cutscenes >sometimes the monster AI stops work and I had a time where a fucking Wraith just was escaping from me and I couldn't kill it because he was running too fast4me, I couldn't abandon combat
>not a bug, but a retarded decision, you can't fucking jump in combat for some reason >sometimes your npc companions stays back without following you >Roach is a fucking retard horse, will stop sometimes while running, if you braze a tree it will stop like it has crashed its fucking head in, sometimes it spawns in some weird places, I've seen it spawn inside a house >Scaling make some bosses have absolutely one-shot damage while having a ton of fucking health, making it completely impossible
>had to load the game a couple of times, because NPC's in quest stopped moving or doing shit
it's really no big deal, I tolerated because the game is fucking big, open world and it's a masterpiece
Sebastian Collins
But I'm an engineering student, who gets little to no time to play games as well? My point still stands. I know, it's a hard concept for you, but try friend. You are so obsessed with an above average game to the point where the other games similar to it will seem worse. Not to mention that many of them are PC exclusives. Sorry you can't face the fact you're delusional over this game buddy.
Brandon Perry
Though I'm fearful if CP2077 will have the same amount of detail and love put into it as with Witcher 3. CDPR has like fucking 500 employees now, it could end up feeling like a bunch of soulless suits made the game, like GTA V did.
I wish they didn't waste manpower and resources on Gwent and fully worked on Cyberpunk instead.
Sebastian Roberts
>This guy insulted me on the video game board! >I'll just call him a neet, heh, that'll properly look like he didn't hurt my precious feelings!
Nathan Bell
>Nephew laughed watching me play "Oh man that looks horrible" you sure he didn't catch you fapping? I know its hard to recall when you sit 16h/d in front of your screen.
Kayden Morris
>like Rome
>tfw just watched both seasons recently for the first time >best TV ive ever seen, having not watched anything for years >incredible sets and costumes, excellent writing, even in the rushed second season >try to recapture it by watching GoT, Vikings, etc >literally nothing can compare ... turned Vikings off in the first 10 minutes when the woman fights off two men who could have raped her
Fuck, Rome was good. Such a nice change of pace to see a historical show that takes its liberties, but doesn't sacrifice the tone.
Justin Reed
You always seem to enjoy insulting anyone who dislikes games you liked. You act quite immature for someone who states they are an "oldfag xD" let alone in their 30's Act your age and fucking ignore them, you fucking idiot. Opinions are opinions and everyone has a different one. That includes your precious game too.
Brody Rodriguez
I got delusional like that with Republic Commando. But you're right. Mediocre or not, when a game hits like that for you, you won't find anything comparable in feels.
And almost certainly not in a place you'd expect to find it (same genre, setting etc).
Liam Martin
The thing is, it's a good bad thing. It means a game was great, just too great to enjoy other games similar. Which I tried to tell OP, but he decided to insult me and call me a neet instead. He'll understand once he tries another game. Especially Skyrim.
Jacob Butler
Why do people think being an oldfag only means to be "old"?
Also these "old" people on Sup Forums are generally retarded, as seen in the OP.
Gabriel Kelly
Try Dark Souls, The Elder Scrolls, Bloodborne, KOTOR, and the previous Witcher games. There are all excellent series/games with that RPG feel. Some have more specific focuses than others, with Dark Souls and Bloodborne more on combat and gameplay, TES on exploration and adventure, KOTOR on story and dialogue, and the previous Witcher games for a mix of all of them.
Joseph Cook
>read all the books back when i was a teenager >tfw when they make witcher game, its okay >tfw whent they make another one, its fucking amazing >tfw they finally release the last game, all those fucking moments - drinking with witcher bros, the reunion with Ciri, all those fucking feels >finish it >get depressed cuz its over, no desire to do anything for 3 days
Connor Edwards
How does one even reply to retarded garbage like this? After > things like COD series (were) cool before they became about strong womyenz
I just couldnt read any more because of the pure cringe
you sound like a mememaster who has been on Sup Forums for two weeks and played the newest /rpcmasterrace/ "essential" moviegame and is now fawning over it because youre simply an actual retard
