Metal gear is my favourite game series of all time but i haven't completed mgs 4 yet because it's so fucking terrible

I only completed it last year while my girlfriend watched and helped me find secrets and collectibles. It's a good movie littered with tiny moments of gameplay. The end area was a complete surprise though, which elevated it to one of my favorite games. If you don't like the gameplay, it's worth watching some of the action heavy cutscenes on Youtube.

Octopus faked his death as Anderson so Snake would not try to extract him as a hostage, meaning Snake could focus on "deactivating" REX. Decoy/Jeager provided Snake with vital intel to continue deeper into the base unimpeded, because Liquid wanted it to look like they were actively trying to stop him so their ruse wouldn't be figured out by Snake, but also prevent Snake from dying because otherwise they'd never get REX online.
