Fate

>be a top tier servant that can go toe to toe with other servants despite Shirou being your mage

>get BTFO by a normal man

>the same man archer made quick work of

So from my understanding the moral of story is that no matter who you are, a woman can never beat a man in a fight, right?

Not really, just saber being a shit as usual.

If you want to shit on a girl don't post a worse one

Kirei is a fucking badass though

Nah, it's that everyone can lose depending on the situation. Nasu loves building characters up as super strong and undefeatable but then throw in rule-breaking characters to take them down a peg. See also Emiya vs Gilgamesh, Tohno vs most major vampires, and in terms of background lore Zelretch vs CMB.

Almost all the most powerful characters in Nasu's works are invariably women, too.
>Arc
>Void Ryougi
>Kanata
and so forth.

Kohaku was best Turkeyhandle, deal with it.

Don't think about it too hard, Nasu doesn't.

I WANT TO STRANGLE SABER

While it still seems a bit silly, it was explained by him being strengthened by caster and Saber being caught by surprise by his unusual fighting style.

I know this is bait but
>Saber was weakened by shit master
>That normal human was a trained assassin
>trained assassin was also buffed by magic

>Zelretch vs CMB
I'd say the vampires won that day more than they would have if he destroyed The magical girl connoisseur.

Take this shit back to Sup Forums.

>be a top tier servant that can go toe to toe with other servants despite Shirou being your mage
This is probably the biggest issue. Seiba's parameters were very degraded to the point she had to rely on Excalispam. Practically every fight she had in the Fifth war put on her on the defensive.

>get BTFO by a normal man
>Normal Man
You fucked up

That's mostly just Seiba being a shit as usual.

>regardless of being held back by a shit master Saber is known as to having the best reaction times and incredible instincts

>gets SUPRISED

Maybe she would stand a chance if Seiba wasn't a shit.

The other thing Nasu likes to do is to make the heroines competent fighters but then contrive reasons for them to job horrifically in almost every fight that matters, so the MC can tag in to get his underdog victory. See:
>Arc
>Ciel
>Saber
>Rin
and probably some others.

Yeah, hence why i said it was a bit silly.

The moral of the story is that Saber needs to go in favor of Rin.

...

>They actually showed Rin's sick fucking martial arts in the Ufotable anime
Well fuck me sideways. I need to actually watch that now.

>So from my understanding the moral of story is that no matter who you are, a woman can never beat a man in a fight, right?

Let me help you.

OHOHOHOHOOH

OLD MEN

Rin truly is best girl

Shirou doesn't deserve her

You haven't seen the ufotable adaptions yet? They did a pretty good job.

I haven't watched anything Fate related since F/Z aired, and I never got around to finishing it. The only thing I ever vaguely felt like maybe watching after that was Prisma Ilya because of the Bazett scenes.
Did they include Rin beating the shit out of Caster in UBW?

Archer is a complete badass and Saber sucks she just has a good sword and water walking

shirou-saber especially is very weak because shirou sucks at magic

Who is this cutie?

Well MAYBE if ya know, if Nasu wasn't a hack and made Saber a male, like most of the Arthur legends are, then she wouldn't Job because she was a women.

FATE
STEAM
PORT
WHEN

Nah, he'd still job. Important or strong characters exist only to job regardless of gender, see every vampire in Tsukihime, Gilgamesh, Kirei, every fucking Lancer etc.

Don't forget Saber's other illustrious BTFOs by the hands of:

Lancer's Gae Bolg
Emiya giving up his command seal for Sensei booty
Caster's dagger
Archer's detached arm (HEAVEN'S FEEL)
Assassin (Tsubame Gaeshi)
Assassin (pic related)
Sakura
Literally Emiya Shirou's penis
Everyone who kicked her ass in Fate/Zero

>type moon has shit inconsistent writing

Who's would have thought

>Lancer's Gae Bolg
>A lance that is said to always pierce to heart
>it missed her heart
So how was she BTFO by it?
>Caster's dagger
Everyone would be BTFO by that
>Assassin (Tsubame Gaeshi)
Higher Ground
>Everyone who kicked her ass in Fate/Zero
She survived, they didn't.

Best girl Illya.

That's the point. She thought her target was just a normal human and she fucked up as a result. Even the best warriors can slip up and make a mistake.

>anime has shit writing because surprise, anime is shit
wow no kidding dude? why is this shit here?

Arc never seemed like she was in legit danger, and that was with most of her power being gone.

Saber is just another example of heroines having Worf-syndrome.
I think Ciel might actually have it worse than Saber. She didn't have as many fights to fuck up and lose as Saber did, but Saber actually won sometimes. I'm pretty sure Ciel only wins anything in a single bad end against Shiki.

She was BTFO by it by being weakened for a week and Lancer walking the fuck away unscathed

What happened to her eye?

Its one of the most visually appealing anime I've seen recently. Its truly gorgeous and definitely worth a watch

That's a pretty big thing in anime in general.

Ok, but it failed to pierce her heart. Which was its big selling point

You do realise instincts work without you knowing right? Like your body just moves on your own? Even if she underestimated him her body should have immediately avoided any danger

>Did they include Rin beating the shit out of Caster in UBW?
They did. And it was great.

I dont know who I like more. Illya or Kuro. They are both perfect.

Nothing.

>weebs
That's not how a fight works you utter trash.

>Arc never seemed like she was in legit danger
She totally was though. Although yes, she did have to be nerfed first.
>Almost got swallowed by Nrvnqsr
>Life plundered by Roa (probably wouldn't nevecessarily have killed her, but she couldn't keep going whilst conscious reglardless)
>Might have actually taken a fatal hit from Shiki in Ciel's True Ending (might have to double-check that)
Arc is probably the hardest one to be worried about though, when she's literally the most powerful lifeform on the planet.

In harem anime and VN adaptations, definitely.
Kind of interesting to see how it's executed Nishio Ishin's work though, since it generally involves everyone jobbing regardless. Or somehow jobbing their way to victory.

Fantastic. Definitely picking it up.

>Arc is probably the hardest one to be worried about though, when she's literally the most powerful lifeform on the planet.

Exactly. I was never worried because in the end, she's actually pretty much outright unkillable.

let me cut to the chase and post this.

Achievement unlocked- Dick Status: Muh.

He uses a 'snake' style assassination technique that can deceive even expert fighters, however veteran fighters can also quickly figure out the trick to the technique after experiencing it once.
Therefore, he could only rely on the element of surprise against expert fighters, because the technique won't work the second time. This is why he said he need to retreat after seeing Saber recover.

Also his limbs was reinforced by Caster, which allow him to move quicker and strike harder (it also allows him to actually harm servants, since they are immune to all non-magical attacks [so even nukes won't harm them]). However without those buffs, he would without a doubt lose against any Servants, which is demonstrated by Archer not even bother dodging his attack when he is no longer buffed.

>Q: If Bazett and Kuzuki got in a hand-to-hand fight against each other, who would win?

>A: If it's the first fight, then Kuzuki will win. If it's the second fight, then Bazett would pretty much completely win. Kuzuki could even drive Saber into a corner as long as his trick was kept hidden, but Bazett is also an expert at hand-to-hand combat thought of and developed by human beings. There's the possibility that she might adapt to Kuzuki's "snake" quicker than the Servants, who are more emphasized by their talent. However, since she might underestimate Kuzuki-sensei as being a normal person, Bazett could be beaten pretty simply.

>Q: Between Kotomine, Bazett, Kuzuki, Melty Blood’s Miyako, and Kishima Kouma, who’d be the top 3 in a purely hand to hand fight with no weapons or magecraft?

>A: I’m excluding Kouma since his existence itself has become a mystery.
>And even if he didn’t have that nature, he’s like an athlete caught by drug testing.
>Out of the four left, the winner in pure strength is Bazett.
>If it’s limited to one match and a surprise attack, then it’s Kuzuki.
>And if it’s the Kotomine from ten years ago, he’s stronger than Bazett overall.

Well yes, but Nrvnqsr could have eaten her. We don't really know what would've happened if he had, it's possible she could have eventually been released when the Chaos inevitably collapsed, but that's hard to tell. At any rate, we know that True Ancestors can be killed for good, since Arc herself wiped all the others out. Archtype:Earth on the other hand...dunno. The Black Barrell could probably do something to her though.
And I'm really not sure what happens to her in Ciel's True Ending. I vaguely remember Shiki killing a portion of Gaia to make her vulnerable and then stabbing her point. Which really should have perma-killed her, eventually. Didn't seem very clear, but maybe that was the point.

It's better with sound r.kyaa.sg/lsbupz.webm

>At any rate, we know that True Ancestors can be killed for good, since Arc herself wiped all the others out.

I was pretty sure her sister is still out there somewhere.

>And if it’s the Kotomine from ten years ago, he’s stronger than Bazett overall.
I wonder if that's due to his martial arts training, magecraft, or Executioner abilities. Presumably all of the above. I wonder where Ciel would rank on that spectrum. We never really see her unarmed combat skills, but I'm pretty sure she partially engages Arc without her Black Keys or other weapons at some point and briefly holds her ground before getting wrecked.

True, but apart from her. They're the only ones left, IIRC. And Altrouge is only half-TA, mind you. I'm still not quite sure how that works, come to think of it. I'm really out of touch with the lore.

That's due to his his skill AND primarily the command spell battery boost.

>Takeuchi: Speaking of strength, who is stronger, Ciel or Kotomine?

>Nasu: Ciel is overwhelmingly strong, due to her circuits, constitution and immortality. The strength of Kotomine at the time of Zero was due to his abnormally large number of Command Spells and his tenacity towards Kiritsugu. It was truly the brightest moment of his life. The Kotomine at that time could even win against Ciel.

>Q: Who'd win if the Servants and the 27 Ancestors fought each other? Also, who'd win in a fight between Bazett, a renowned powerhouse of the Association, and Ciel, top class in even the Association?
>Oh, and regarding Bazett-san and Lady Ciel, Ciel'd still win at the point Bazett was in Hollow. Once Bazett awakens and masters Fragarach, it'll turn into a good match.

Not just that. It's also because he fights as an absolutely hollow man without being weighed down by concerns or thoughts about anything. At that point in time, before Gilgamesh therapy, Kirei was just waiting to die and take his evil with him. Apparently he tried suicide too, but Claudia interfered before she died.

Aaaaand shes 10

Why did she do that? context please.

Ciel far surpasses prime Kotomine in terms of stats, but F/Z Kotomine's majority of power comes from the command spell boost like mentioned.

Also, apparently maxed out Shirou (as a human of course) will always be at a disadvantage against Bazett.

>Dengeki Hime 10/2006 - Fate Dream Battle Round 5 - Bazett vs. Shirou
>Nasu:With this time's battle, since we're working off the assumption that Shirou "has trained/is operating himself to the max", people might think that this might end up being a good fight, but m'lady Bazett's a trained professional specializing in anti-magus battles. Technique, experience, and battle power. Against someone like her whose superior in all those regards, even with a "Broken Phantasm", Shirou's disadvantages are still not going to change. And you see. She's ruthless.

She literally needs to kiss or fuck to live.

Yeah, I know Ciel is pretty high tier ordinarily, but I was more curious about her unarmed combat. But I don't think Nasu really goes into it, which is a shame. It'd be even more nuts if she can boost herself like her Powerd state in Meltan which could hold up against regular Arc, IIRC. Not sure if that was strictly a canon ability or not though.
Tsukihime Ufotable anime fucking when?

how do i get into the fate series?
is it actually good or is it a waifus only series

Generally you get in through the Visual Novel, although the translation is pretty bad (it also created a lot of misconceptions despite the overly-literal translation)

Mana transfer. Kuro is essentially a split part of Illya combined with the archer class card, so she needs mana to be able to fight.

Either read F:SN or watch the anime for SN and Zero

Admittedly, ufotable made their SN adaptation assuming that people had watched their Zero adaptation, so things aren't explained as well as they are in the VN. Originally, the intended order is SN VN then Zero LN

Read the Fate/Stay Night VN, then watch or read Fate/Zero. You can watch ufotable's Unlimited Blade Works and Prisma Illya too, if you want, and the Heaven's Feel movies whenever they come out.
That's pretty much the Fate series, but you also have Tsukihime (ignore the anime, it's shit) and Melty Blood, Kara no Kyoukai (the movies are great) and Mahoutsukai no Yoru (still not translated), set in the same universe. Also Carnival Phantasm, which is a crossover comedy spin-off.

Thanks dudes.

So they are like sisters? But that makes it incest and that is so wrong.

There's also Fate Extra if you have a PSP or Vita, and XSEED is localizing Extrella. Those are better left for once you've read/watched SN and Zero though

Fate series is shit only one worth watching is Fate/Zero

>but you also have Tsukihime (ignore the anime, it's shit)

What anime?

More like selfcest. And that's a good thing.

The main problem with the F/Z adaptation is that it have trouble characterizing some important characters due to their introverted nature.
The LN generally does the bulk of the characterization through its third person narration. This was apparent for Kiritsugu and Kotomine. It was also kind of the case for Tokiomi, since it also go into about why he made the decision for his daughters.

How did you guys make it past two episodes in this series.

Fuck was it ever boring. Characters also over analyze and go into too many monologues.

>I have ADD and can't stay interested in something unless there's constant action

I dunno, I just really love Chuuni shit, and TM is about as textbook as you can get for that.
I love the monologues. I don't care if they're pretentious or not, I like that it's used to flesh out the setting even if it's about the most crude method possible.

Way to get over defensive. I forgot you guys take your waifus seriously.

Honestly, would rather listen to Kenshin's and Elric's self righteous 5 min lecture than this one.

I saw the other Fate anime. The one with Gilgamesh. Felt it was better since they actually moved the plot along.

Recommend me bro.

Saliva is the mana? Can it be anyones saliva or just Illyas? What effect does semen have in her?

Gilgamesh is in both of them.

>recommend me
Fuck off and kys

In the VNs semen provides a servant with mana

You can transfer mana through any bodily fluid, saliva and semen included. Kuro kisses every little girl in the cast, so yes, she can get some mana from anyone. Yes, it is doujin material.

Yeah Saliva and i guess most bodily fluids, so semen should also work. She can get it from anyone but Illya is most effective, followed by Miyu, probably due to them being grails.

The golden one with Alexander

I'm not sure what to tell you, Gilgamesh is in every pretty much every Fate anime, even the joke spin-off ones.

I love Kara no Kyoukai over the others, but that would probably be the worst one to suggest to you because it's 90% people talking about in-universe fantasy babble and pseudo-philosophy and about 10% nice action scenes. And the plot progression seems incoherent because the story is told out of order.

>And the plot progression seems incoherent
*can seem incoherent at first.
The story more or less comes together at the end.

>In the VNs semen provides a servant with mana

Its just any bodily fluid can hold mana, semen is just the densest one.

Using that method is however not very effective and inefficient. It is only used by those inept with magic.
Generally the Master automatically provides mana by their link alone, and if need a lot of it in a short time, they just charge up at certain leyline convergence.

>Using that method is however not very effective and inefficient. It is only used by those inept with magic.

So no sex in that vn because of this?

So is Saber's A-rank instinct is a fucking meme? It's been a long time since I've played the VN but I don't remember a single instance in the VN where her instincts actually did anything.

Presumably, Shirou only won against Saber Alter in a sword fight in Sparks Liner High because of her gimped agility and instinct but I doubt that """"""precognition""""""" would've helped her at all.

The original version have it, but the updated version (based on the PS2 version) doesn't have it (it have the alternate scene), but it have more CG and have voiced lines.

It's the reverse. It's how they shoe-horned sex into the VN in the first place. The MC is a shitty mage who was never taught properly.

It's like Spider-sense. Shit tingles, but if you can't place what the fuck is going on fast enough you're just going to get smacked around.
Fighting Berserker she's able to mostly dodge his attacks even though he's supposed to be the penultimate physical fighter.
When everyone has some kind of ace up their sleeves when it comes to fighting, having good instincts doesn't equate into "teleports behind you".

Oh, and surviving against Fake Assassin's special move too.

Everything about Saber is a meme. The lance with the main fucking ability of "It cannot miss" missed her because she's lucky.

>So is Saber's A-rank instinct is a fucking meme? It's been a long time since I've played the VN but I don't remember a single instance in the VN where her instincts actually did anything.
Surviving Kojiro's Tsubame Gaeshi, at the very least.
And she completely wrecked Archer in their very first encounter. Admittedly that's partially because he was protecting Rin, but he still got his shit pushed in. He also had to resort to threatening to trace Excalibur in UBW because he couldn't feasibly fight her any other way.

Saber Alter also have to remain in relatively the same spot as a guard, and she was also encouraging Shirou and even giving 'advice'. She even let him gather his breathe after each clash.
Shirou only finally scored a direct hit using Archer's technique that systematically cause the opponent to be unable to defend themselves for the final strike.
If Saber was free to move and was merciless against Shirou, Shirou would never have the chance to setup up that killzone, or just performed an evasive maneuver (even with the gimped agility, it is still higher than human potential) backward to be out the range.

Gae Bolg didn't miss, it still pierced the chest. The luck stat just improves your 'saving throw' against being pierced in the heart.
