so?

Because it's one of the most reliable pieces of equipment.
That's like choosing between BMW M5 E60 and E39. You'd choose E39 because of reliability despite it being less powerful.

They don't use this fucking gun for decades?

Everyone still uses AK-47's. Even US soldiers.

you probably didnt know, but even regular russian army still uses 47. With all that corruption and laziness they just cant upgrade armory.

Kill yourself.

they use modern ak variants you fag

They don't use 47 since 50's.

Very mature.
I didn't say they are standard issue for US soldiers.

Exactly MODERN VARIANTS not fucking 47 you retard.

Don't use "modern" and "Russia" together as if it makes some sort of point.

Russia is a super power but holy shit are they 30-40 years behind the curve.

>Russia is a super power

Not impossible, many ex-soviet and soviet satellite countries still use and produce ak-47.

Itt. People think the Ak-47 is equal to the Ak-74M.

They're obviously not, Russia doesn't use the 74M, they use the original 47.

Go to psychiatrist.

If it's because people mention it it's probably just because it's a common term to describe even the modern variants. If it's in the description then yeah, that's wrong.

I think Stalker has both, and the 47 uses 7.62x54 (I think it's x54, might be something else) while the modern variants use whatever ammo they use now.

Russia uses mainly the AK-74m (with variants of that too) with some use of the AN-94. Special forces use a variety it seems including the AS-VAL.

Either strong bait or equally strong real world autism. I love it.

AN-94 isn't in enough numbers for the regular army, it's special forces too. Same with a million and one other guns which are technically in use but none exist really.

They've basically just got the 74M and 103 AKs in actual service.

Russia hasn't used the 47 since it was phased out by the AKM in the 50s though, it's a stupid misconception largely contributed to by bad Hollywood films and call of doodies.

The AK-47 looks better than the the AK-74 and AN-94. Simple as that really.

The original 74 looks like the 47 retard. Same as the 74 looks like the AKM. The 74M is the plastic one.

You are objectively incorrect.

>game takes place after 2077
>no one uses a Pancor Jackhammer

Russia has overhauled their military hardware quite a bit. They wouldn't be taunting NATO otherwise.

Granted, it's all overdesigned contractor crap just like the US's weapon systems, but still.

It's cheap, light and functional. What the fuck is your point?

That's because every soldier IS a Pancor Jackhammer

One of the most reliable and cheap to produce guns ever, why not?

>looks like the 47 retard

What guns do russians use this days?

VSS, Bizon, 74M and variants and what else?
I guess i must go to /k/.

Everyone knows the 47 is still in use in Russia and will be for a long time.

>tfw most vidya only ever have AK guns, never other glorious Russian weapons like Abakan, Groza, Vintorez

>game calls the weapon AK-47 when it's obviously an AKM

Groza and Vintorez are popular.
AN-94 not so much but is still there.

>game has both the 47 and 74
>they share ammo

Because russians don't fucking use AK-47 since the 50's?

Post games that triggers /k/

What of it ?It's one of the most if not THE most reliable pieces of military equipment available to modern-day soldiers.

How does it look different?

Pieces of shit maybe.

>game has an "AK74"
>it's a fucking krink

>Hating on the /K/rinkov

Get a load of this faggot.

They're still not a super power, but they are a legitimate world power, because they're producing their own technology, they command global influence, they possess the ability to dictate the course of global politics and they can only be held in check by a fucking military alliance made of 28 different countries., plus their army is among the five most powerful ones in the world.Just keep in mind that they've achieved all of this in less than 26 years of time.

>but holy shit are they 30-40 years behind the curve

Is that why you're forced to use their space program and engines to send your astronauts into space?

>Game uses AKM
>Calls it AK-47

the 47 was retired an replaced by the akm in the 50s

they use ak-74, akm, 104, what ever variants there is out there

>reliable
youtube.com/watch?v=DX73uXs3xGU

>game set in the cold war has an AK47
>it actually has a milled reciever, down angled stock and holes in the gas ports

>game has a Chinese Type 56 AK47
>it actually has a hooded front sight post

With all due respect, but these rifles have made it possible for illiterate, Middle eastern sheep fuckers to humiliate your army whenever they've got the chance to do so.

they have shit ton of nukes

>Game takes place 500 years in the future
>Humans still use modern rifle rounds

>plastic mag
>front sight
>receiver
>angle of stock

The 74 is closer to the akm, not the 47.

This THRAK sound it makes while shooting is oddly satisfying.

Pretty much every game ever since the akm is the most produced weapon in history but people confuse it for being the 47.

there is like 1000x more AKM's made and out there than there ever was AK-47

just couple of good guns, doing good things

ak autist here

AK74 difference between AKM
>magazine has a less of a curve
>big ass AK74 style muzzle brake
>90 degree gas block

Those are basically the biggest differences. The AKM also has 'plastic' magazines that are referred to bakelite but they're technically AG-4 a phenolic resin but everyone still calls it bakelite so I don't really give a shit when people call an AKM an AK47.

I actually have 30 bakelite magazines

Guys, help! My AK's mag is crooked to one side, is it borked?

103 is about to be phased out by either the ak12 or that aek successor. Both passed initial testing and we're recommended as replacements.

a us soldier won't pick up an ak because
a- it sounds like enemy gunfire which could lead to friendly fire incidents
b- we us 5.56x45 for the m4/m16 and no armorer is going to ever have some 7.62x39 laying around

the only time a us soldier is going to pick up an ak is for a nice war trophy

So Sup Forums, why don't you own an ak?

>5000 coalition troop deaths vs 25,000 iraqi insurgent deaths
feeling pretty humiliated there

The 103 and 74m.
Ak12 soon.

that looks more like a cement than a mud

And spiked ammo is introduced into the enemy's supplies which could end up very deadly if you picked up a random weapon without using your own ammo supply. Plus you can never trust the enemy to have kept the gun in working condition

Not even humans work in mud.

Because I'm a europoor and they've been banned.

It's better this way. With no guns there has never been a mass shooting in Paris, or again in PAris, or in Germany...

>game is set in modern times
>russians use ak-12 instead of ak-47

What rounds do your m14 marksmen shoot?

and still USA is still not using reliable guns

Dude they're fucking Russian. They wait in like for hours to get a loaf of bread and you think they can afford new guns?

I will soon.
Especially if Shillary is elected, I'll buy one asap

is the reason for that to get better grip with left hand? looks comfy

What country? You can actually own semi auto ak rifles in places like Germany.

pic is some /k/ user's and he lives in Germany

>bread
That's only for upper class scum from my experience. Half a cubic meter of air is enough for me.

>Uses a low quality Romanian knock off composed of sub-par materials instead of the original Russian version.

Nah, the AR-15 pattern rifle is actually more reliable swimming through filth than the AK despite popular misconception.
youtube.com/watch?v=YAneTFiz5WU

>ak-12
this shit looks like it came from Aliens movie

The perfect republican robot

I speak of your entire endeavor in the Middle East, not just the Iraqi incident.

You've got great technology, but your human resources are utter garbage, that's what you get for being notorious half-breeds and the descendants of the dregs of Europe's early modern society.

Britain

closest thing you can own is this

sorry famalam

youtube.com/watch?v=hJlJNngvkAI

Their entire force could be outfitted with surplus Mosin Nagants and it wouldn't have made a difference. The AK pattern rifle is a piece of shit either way. It's just a very available piece of shit.

the fit is tight, in ak it is not, I'd still say dust is much worse to AR than to AK

I'm not american but I assure you whatever country you're from is irrelevant.

You think a tighter Russian AK would make things better in that goop? It'd probably run even worse

>implying they don't have the tsar bomba

Answer me why PMCs bought them on the Iraqi black market to replace their shitty m4s?

That's a common myth too.
You'll need to clean either when it comes to dust, but they can usually take a lot before they'll start to jam.

fucking dutchko always confusing my boner

What are you even talking about?
Hillary is adamant about an assault weapon ban and will obviously get supreme court justices that agree with her. Fucking 4/8 justices already think the 2nd amendment doesn't guarantee a citizen's right to a personal firearm, which is shameful how it even came to that number.

That's because there's a drum mag and a grenade launcher on it.

I appreciate the fact that you're avoiding to continue this topic in a regular manner so you're forced to grasp at straws and "what if's".Off--topic here, I've also loved how you've presented your unconditional retreat from Afghanistan as merely "pulling out after a successful peace mission".

At least you're intelligent enough to understand the importance of perception, I guess it's easier to come to terms with pulling back from a successful peace mission than being forced in a corner and come to terms with reality.

Because they're PMC's and don't have as easy an access to armorers, parts, and ammunition as the US military would if they ran NATO weapons. Thus it's easier and cheaper to get in country auto guns, parts, and ammo that are AK pattern, than to import NATO auto guns and ammo.

7.62x51, not 39 you fuckhead

Yes I do, because I know for a fact that the Russian version was made of high-quality material.

And that somehow influences the quality of my arguments?

>guerilla warfare is easy to fight against!
Said no military ever.
Guerilla warfare is 90% defensive and is a huge pain in the ass to fight against, especially when they're essentially using civvies as meat shields.

The topic was AK pattern weapons. Military performance and results is the avoidance topic. I don't really care if you think the US won or lost in the middle east, the AK is a shit weapon

>Yes I do, because I know for a fact that the Russian version was made of high-quality material.
how does the quality of material influence weapon reliability, other than allow it to run longer and wear less?
In this one instance, if two weapons were made of similar materials, one of extremely high quality in steel, the other lower grade, it would still perform the same.

We're not talking of the average "West Virginia coon hunters", we're talking of seasoned veterans and members of respectable companies.
