Chess is actually less balanced than a lot of vidya, since one side always has to move first. One person always has the advantage in a match.

First to win an even number of matches while changing alternating who goes first is the only way it's truly balanced, and even then it could potentially go on forever given each person who goes fjrst always wins. Chess is fundamentally unbalanced for this reason.
