Dinosaur Games

>it's the year of our lord two thousand and sixteen
>there aren't any good, recent dinosaur games
What the fuck happened, why don't people like dinosaurs anymore?

Most people would rather shoot humans with guns.

Monster Hunter if you count that

Why not shoot dinos with guns?
Or eat humans who have guns?

Because God is dead, and we killed him.

With a meteor.

Like the one that killed the dinosaurs.

I don't understand how in the hell we haven't gotten an Operation Genesis 2, or even a spiritual successor. It's such a good fucking idea even without the Jurassic Park logo stamped on it.

>no JPOG 2
Please stop, this hurts me
At least JPOG has a fairly active modding community to this day

Well. What's your dinosaur game idea?

Also, in recent years we've made more headway in space exploration and police states than paleontology so those are going to sell better than this.

The fourth Jurassic Park movie recently became one of the top grossing films of all time. Of course it was shit and completely forgotten within months, but you'd think that would spur a little bit of corporate interest.

Dinosaur simulator
Play as a dinosaur, try to survive
Preferably multiplayer, could be single player if the AI is good
Can play as herbivore or carnivore with a bunch of different species choices

I don't fucking understand it.

Jurassic World was such a huge hit, over 1 billion box office.

We could've had a supremely updated JPOG, with hybrid dinosaurs, aquatic and airborne reptiles, and more advanced AI/park structures

Instead we got that shitty phone game and Lego Jurassic World. Just fuck, man

All you've done is made me want Spore made by a publisher that's actually good.

Thanks, asshole

You'd think so yet here we are.

That's what we all want, user
I just wanted Spore
;_;

>Primal Carnage Extinction
>The Isle
>Ark?

Ark doesn't let you play as dinosaurs, though. The Isle's still early development honestly, and needs hella optimization before it goes anywhere.

There needs to be an updated version of the Big Al game.

The Isle is ok so far, development seems pretty consistently good, gameplay is tense at times but I really want to play an herbivore and a lot of herb gameplay is just so fucking BORING
>tfw that game is gone forever and no one will ever play it again
BBC doesn't have it anymore, I think

Last dino game whose premise was interesting for me was Stomping Land, which ended up as just another early access cash snatch and run title. It could've been a multiplayer spear chucking westerners monster hunter. What a shame.

The Isle took Stomping Land's really good dino models and made it into an actual game that isn't abandonware

Oh? I should look this up then.

the isle is a dino game where you play as dinos, dunno much else i'm just aware it exists. you spawn as a random herbi/carnivore and go off, rest is a mystery. look it up

game went to shit when they added progression.

Dinosaur games are basically dead. Everybody is only interested in fps shit, or mobas.

Ark: Survival Evolved. Best one atm. Has Workshop support and one of the many mods lets you place as Dinos ect. Besides that they will be releasing a official game mode that lets you play as Dinos, form packs ect

>Wanting fanfiction lizard shit

WHERE ARE MY REALISTIC FEATHERED DINO GAMES?

More games need marine reptiles.

I don't care if it was for "accuracy".

Far Cry Primal should have had dinosaurs. Even if it was just a little bonus area or something.

What about Orion?

aw man i remember this whole show
i had the full vhs collection with the behind the scenes footage
fucking lost it like years ago. can't find it anywhere

any one know where i can download nanosaur?
main site doesn't work

Saurian looks p. good
