Any KoF that doesn't have 3D Models (hopes up for 14 though)
Any game made by Arcsys that is not Isuka.

>Melty Blood

Looked it up. Generic anime aesthetic. No thanks

alpha 2

Skullgirls
Rivals of Aether

Rivals has delay based netcode. Heavens no.

garou*

*these are pretty much dead though

Ding dong never die

>generic anime aesthetic
If that's you're issue, 2D fighters aren't your game.

Brawlhalla

>SSBM
>Good
>Fighting Game
get a LOADE of this clown, haha

Theres always smash

SF2 is a good start, after that you can go to SF3 or searching for more fighting games

Don't let that stop you. (Being honest, I think Melty's 'anime factor' is pretty benign compared to a lot of other anime fighters like Blazblue or Arcana Heart)

It's a solid fast paced game with a large roster that has even more variety thanks to the moons system.

These are the only 2d fighters worth playing in history

>SFV
>SFxT
>mortal "combat" XL
>KI
lol

Melty blood, it's the best 2d fighting game and really the only fighting game worth playing.

the fuck? third strike and the darkstalkers series look amazing, they're the peak of 2D fighters and animation in video games

nothing generically anime about them

kof 98

Rage of the Dragons is cool

>guilty gear X
>guilty gear xrd sign
Hold the fucking phone, if you are going to list Xrd, make it Revelator, since Sign really doesn't anything over it unless you REALLY REALLY hate one othe new characters for whatever reason, and X is absolutely nothing to talk about when XX is a thing, without even mentioning AC+R

also
>SFxT
>MK
lol

Revelator, sf5, kof 14 are pretty good entries since fighting games lately are adding newbie friendly stuff like auto combos or well detailed tutorials.

get taste plebs

Martial Masters

Le fullscreen man

Who's up for some 3rd Strike on Fightcade?(i'm rusty as fuck though)

Everyone except jewpuncher has a couple near full screen moves.

pls, enlighten me as to what makes KI so much worse than any other mainstream FG out there

despite its flaws, it has great netcode and a diverse roster. plus the soundtrack is GOAT

>robot fighting games

If we're gonna go that route, you can't just leave this out.

youtube.com/watch?v=9GMwF8aMMUE

SFV, KI, and MKX are fine games if you just want a random game to get into.
They all have decent communities and good netcode.

The only issues is SFV's netcode and be weird at times, and MKX will be useless in helping you get good at other games because it's so fucking weird, unless you are going to get into Injustass 2 boogaloo when ever that comes out.

SFxT
Look, if you can find it for like 5 bucks, it might be worth it to fuck around with for a few hours.
Just to see the weirdness of 2D Tekken characters.

This.

Every time I see these off the mill generic animu fighters it makes me mad.

The 3rd Strike chars for example all have personality and unique traits, also they're real fighters and not some random animu boyz trying to look cool with bullshit fighting stances.

I have a weird question: Can you guys remember the names of any random fighting games you'd find randomly at a local arcade when you were a kid?
I remember finding some 2D fighters that had very unfamiliar characters.

X-Men Vs. Street Fighter

If you want something you can play right fucking now, online, KOF98.
go get bopped by argentine players (brazilians aren't that good on fightcade on average, neither are americans, probably because there are more random noobs playing from those countries)

KOF98 is like the second most active game on fightcade.
and the most active game is KOF2002 (and that game is jank as fuck -- people also seem to be more hesitant to actually challenge people in that room)

man, original GGX is actually jank as fuck
it's massively better than GG on PS1, but there's a lot of no-name fighters that manage that

>tfw no one fucking plays oratan
love that game so fucking much though
grys-vok for life

jej

name 1 (one) 2d fighter with a better soundtrack than Third Strike

It's a lot more fun than it looks, I used to feel the same way.

Second Impact.

>name 1 (one) 2d fighter with a better soundtrack than Third Strike

2nd Impact

youtube.com/watch?v=Q9Wl_3JHwxY

shit

Killer instinct

>fightcade

I never heard of it before, thanks! I gotta try it out with the Street Fighter III's

>grys-vok

You're a man of good taste. But Raiden is my bro.

its old but marvel 3 is good. no other fighter comes close. might give you a seizure though be careful

Darkstalkers 2
youtube.com/watch?v=b-FMkdpccpE

Oh yeah if you want multiple older fighting games with fantastic netcode. There really is no other option than fightcade.

Garou > 3S

>tfw Garou's lobby is always dead when I show up
Why

EXVS > VO

Why the hell is it so hard to find a download of NG and 2I?

Least he ain't Wald

Windjammers. Not a fighting game, but it's on Fightcade. Play it

I respectfully disagree. Unless we're talking about Force, that game can go fuck itself. EXVS definitely did the 2v2 thing better.

guilty gear

WHEELIE SHOOT

I like the arranged ost of the Dreamcast Version the best. Pity that the Arcade Version is so much inferior in the audio department.

youtube.com/watch?v=17-rtRdr7yk

Underrated as fuck game. Surprisingly elegant for how simple it is.

VO only has OT and the PS2 AGES version of Cyber Troopers as good games.

I enjoyed some of the OE remixes.

Let's talk about underrated fighting games.

Watching competitive Cyberbots makes my dick hard

All 3 Darkstalkers games have some great tracks, but I think 2 is my favorite.
youtube.com/watch?v=-yYHrjAmMd4

Power Instinct?
Gowcaizer?
Waku Waku 7?

I think they played Cyberbots at Try Tower's Super Tower Opera event a few years back. They play some pretty offbeat fighters in that, stuff like Jackie Chan's Fists of Fire and Chatan Yarakuu Shanku – The Karate Tournament. One year they even played the Street Fighter movie game.

>cyberbots

That game's cool as fuck, find me some competitive footage of that.

I agree 100%, that much I'll give you.

>mfw my local mall arcade has SC3AE, Hyper SF2 and GGXXAC

Jackie Chan's Fist of Fire is way better then it has any right to be. If only there was a non-shit way of playing it online

What's wrong with Force?

This I demand Blodia

Also, Capcom vs Arcsys All Stars when

That's pretty cool, the arcade version of Hyper SF2 is a pretty rare sight.

Breaker's Revenge is fucking fun

There was actually plans for a Sammy vs Capcom game, but they fell through.

Could ASW use Hard Corps: Uprising characters? That'd be awesome as hell.

I have no idea what the fuck is that

youtube.com/watch?v=ycA0CPrwcTQ

youtube.com/watch?v=RCpIZ7h7V14

fightcade doesn't has it?

It's Japanese too. And I've seen another mall arcade have MvC2 and SC2 arcade as well. But I think the rarest arcade fighter I've found is actually Fate/Unlimited Code. I had to double take when I saw it.

I love going to different arcades in my island, always fun seeing old as hell machines that are very likely the same ones from other places.

Melty blood has as good animation as either of those games.

>I have no idea what the fuck is that
Just a small, recurring event that a particular Japanese arcade has put on for the past few years. They hold tournaments for all sorts f old games that you usually wouldn't expect to see tournaments for these days, if ever. Some staples include Outfoxies, Mario Bros., and SF2 Rainbow Edition.

Fighters History Dynamite Karnovs Revenge has my favourite FG character of all time

youtube.com/watch?v=iJNNJqHk0j0
More shit. Has Blodia in the first match
Yo, link me the outfoxies tournament.

Is there such a thing as a casual fighting game? Like a Street Fighter-lite?

Rising Thunder was your best bet imo.

Mortal Kombat :^)

Gem fighter maybe?

Me too. I like Akuma's and the brazil stage.

>no idea what that is
>look it up
>"Holy shit, this looks pretty good."
>cancelled

Second Impact lifebars were so good looking. Holy shit.

Clash of Ninja? I'd kill for a reboot. I would make my own if I could.

It got canned for a LoL fighter.

>LoL fighter
You what

Darkstalkers

Don't worry
It will come back as aLeague of Legends fighting game

Wasn't Clash of Ninja 3D though? I've never cared for 3D fightan.

I'd much rather we get another Ninja Storm in the style of the PS2 games.

Symphogear
;_;

Thanks user, watching this stuff right now. Forgot how much I loved that announcer voice.

>PHASE ONE
>PROCEED

Riot acquired the studio, so thats the current speculation.
The game had mechanics somewhat similar to League of Legends(one button abilities with cooldown)

>name 1 (one) 2d fighter with a better soundtrack than Third Strike
easy. Skullgirls
