Haven & Hearth

For those of you who don't know, Haven & Hearth is a survival MMORPG set in a fictional world loosely inspired by Slavic and Germanic myth and legend during the late iron age. It is special because it takes place in one gigantic consistent map running on one single server that houses all the players.

I thought I would post a shill thread since I am a member of a large PvP faction that has been playing the game for years and am sad to see that it's mostly been dead lately with around 400 active players (95 online as I post this) and Russians outnumbering Americans.

If anons are not aware of some changes that have been made to the game since the last time it was posted here:
>Game is completely remade is 3D with loads of new content
>Stats are capped
>P2P removed
>Purchasable hats
>Custom art on in game items
>Patches every week

Please join up and bounce the numbers back up, buy some shit from the store, create a faction or join one, just looking to get some life back into this game.

I remember playing this game like a year ago, I made a sizeable house and stopped playing because I felt there was a void of content
Has anything new been added?

If it doesn't even match the quality of Old School Runescape, it's not even worth looking at.

>MMO
Do I have to interact with other people to succeed in the game?

>>Game is completely remade is 3D with loads of new content

Woah WHAT?

Post cords, I want to play this again with a group.

Stop the shilling. Fuck off.

The threads around the re-release of this were depressing. I don't think I've ever seen hype for a game die THAT fast. Everybody went from excited to pissed off in under a minute.

That being said, fuck the 3d, it looks like complete trash. At least the mediocre sprite work had some charm to it.
>P2P removed
Well, at least they saw how pants-on-head retarded that move was.

>buy some shit from the store
Fuck off.

I've enjoyed their changes since going to haven2.0 but this current world is WAY too fucking small and now it's rather old and busted.

If they did a reset I'd hop back in, I still have a few game tokens unused.

The old game never felt like that to me, I think you just stopped too early or didn't know how to progress. To answer the question yes, there is more content, but I don't know if you'll find the early game that much different.

Pic is an in-game screenshot, judge for urself. To me it is no better or worse than the old game, which had a charm to it. It does conflict a bit with AMD video cards so watch out.

It is not my place to let people in but check the forums, there are loads of people willing to take you

You can now pay for both a meagre raise to the stat cap , character development rate and crafting/building speed and hats. It may seem like pay to win but the fact that the stats are capped makes it redundant since it will only help you until your stats can't be raised anymore.

Didn't they give a huge middle finger to their players by throwing in pay-to-play at the last second?

>osrs
>not rs2

Posting a low population mmo thread on Sup Forums and you already got a group? come on.

Hi Rainrain

HOLY SHIT I PLAYED IT FEW YEARS AGO AND NOW IT LOOKS SO GOOD DOWNLOADING IT RIGHT NOW LOVE YOU

If you're down to post steam I would be A-ok to start a new group with you guys, help you out and start again on the side. I'm always down to help fellow English speaking players, since barely any play anymore.

Yes, but the game is still good enough that I played through it.

They had to make the world small because the fact they removed fast travel in such a hard way. Current travel mechanics are very iffy and in constant flux.

Yes, the nature of the game makes it even more crucial than usual.

Weird to see how many players lurk here. You're wrong, though.

Sure kid

Just wondering, is acquiring a mine/metal still THE goal to have? Or did they add even more endgame shit. It's been a while but I still remember our whole village working towards that goal forever.

Most of the items and the core mechanics are all still the same. I don't know why you see metal as the big end-game thing to get, but it is still just as hard to find and extract and still fills the same role it did.

They have, however, added certain "localised resources" that spawn in a set location once every ~3 days. Most people camp these and sometimes fights can break out over the spawn nodes. These are very valuable to most players. I guess that would fill the gap you were asking about?

rip this thread

They made the new early game too easy and those icicles and shit ruined the balance.

Haven't played in awhile but I recognize that waterfall.

H&H gets so boring after 2 months. Its literally a grind and people are too afraid to cause conflict because they could lose their characters. And they removed the infinite stats which kinda ruined the whole goal of being the best. Nowadays you can get max stats in 1 week with icicles and high q food / tables.

Infinite stats were dumb because it was legit impossible to catch up to someone with 3k agility, con, str, ua and mc. Although the game was alive to end game fighters, it made this end game content pretty much behind the gate of already being in a faction that is capable of maintaining characters with a bazillion stats. Only a small number were actually able to partake in real, end game PvP while the rest were left out completely.

one more time
Looks like there are about 15 more players on right now compared to when I made this thread, son't know if that's you guys or not but it's good to see.

I still have a character on Salem but I doubt anybody on Sup Forums plays it anymore or wants to get together. Wonder if my homestead is still even there, haven't played since January.

>playing the new one when there's a legacy version

Steam Group where

How do you play legacy?

It's like 15$ I think just to buy off the store, it's bullshit don't get me wrong and should be free I just hate the new version.

>playing legacy anything, ever

Bye, no one will miss you.

Honestly it's more of I don't think the graphics are as cozy feeling and I don't like change

They are taking it in the right direction but not quickly enough. Overall the game needs to be more trade focused and friendly, get rid of the mindless violence and allow people to talk and work together instead of living in constant fear.

The map needs to be larger, biomes each need to be larger (they are kinda doing this), and each biome needs more unique objects to it. The main issue still remains that once you setup your fort the game ends, they need more long term content.

It's people who play the game not as intended that really dislike it. Legacy will never be the full game again because no one plays it.

The entire thing that makes the game different is the human aspect, not the glorified farmville mechanics.

Well it might help if you introduced more needs for people other than food and learning points that forces them to cooperate on regular basis. Like you could make societal status and religion more integral things that give bonuses but also have maintenance. Make the old barbarism vs civilisation slider a core mechanic.

Nah senpai, I quit when they changed the xp system to that fucking strange curiosity shit.

Adding 3d kinda ruins the charm for me. Sorry.

Curiosities helped save the world from the endless tree onslaught. It also allowed for more specialization in a tribe. For example I was a cook in a small town, would also basically do any of the side jobs the town needed like farming etc to get the food

in return, explorers would leave me like 1 out of their bazillion curios they found hunting etc so I am sitting in town starving for them until I got good enough to go get them on my own.

Is the UI still a godawful mess? Do I still need to install a UI mod to make the game playable?

It made xp ridiculously hard to farm, now you just sit around for a few hours and hope the xp is good. I'd rather just stick to wurm.

So should I even try the new one?

Just get wurm unlimited, much more comfy and enjoyable experience
