Thats if we get it. Can't buy it, since Jewtendo region locks their system.

>the original Monster Hunter doesn't have personality, unlike this cartoony game that reminds me of my japanese animes which makes it objetively good
Fuck you
Region locking hasn't been a problem on 3DS for a long while now thanks to homebrew.
>turn based
Alright user, then tell me. What "personality" is there in the main series games? There is pretty much nothing to them except for grinding huge monsters until you beat them for that sense of accomplishment and getting better gear. There is nothing else to the games. No adventure. No story or characters.
>getting wind waker advendturey vibes
>japanese animes
I think OP just has a preference m8; he likes a light hearted adventure more than a "Go here and hunt this monster" experience.
>turn based
And here I was thinking it was just going to be faster and more actiony monster hunter game. Damn, it's a shame
Yup, nailed it. I'm not really good at expressing myself as you can tell.
holy shit this trailer confirms you can tame and/or ride Nerscylla and Gypceros?
>That Felyne looks like shit
>Gets it's own amiibo
Fuck me sideways user
Monster Hunter is bland, grindey and poorly made.
I love all the mainline Monster Hunter games but this game looks incredible. It could conceivably be the Pokemon killer for me - so much effort has been put into designing these monsters and modeling their behavior into the games, that they feel like they have a real sense of identity, as opposed to Pokemon. This spinoff is perfect for the series, I wish Pokemon had done something in a similar manner, just in the opposite direction.
Yeah, it sure sucks for a video game to be only based on his gameplay, right?
I mean, the duck were they thinking?
>rock paper scissors battle system
So not only did they decide to go with a turn based system in a fucking monster hunter game, but they chose the worst kind. One of the main reasons why I didn't like fate/extra.
Fuck, I was really excited for this game too.
I mean, why is it bad for a game to have nice gameplay among other things? Can't a game excel at more than one thing?
monster hunter's always had a lighthearted feel to it though
>not either having imported a nip 3DS around 2012 or having modded a 3DS to get around it since 2014
C'mon son
Not light enough for OP though; I'm guessing it's mostly the aesthetic they're going with now and the fact that it seems more like an adventure with a clear beginning and end rather than a series of arenas/boss rush rooms.
>this game is looking like it's going to try to have a personality
Monster Hunter does have a personality, it's just that it's not as completely obvious and shoved in your face with the power of fifty supernovas like in this game.
I care about the adventure, not so much the lightheartedness.
You mean it's barely there and irrelevant.
MH4U quest gal that wanted to fuck monsters?
I'm interested in this game purely for the shota kid, he's 10/10 cute as fuck. Even makes the girl look bad just how adorable he is.
This desu
>Alright user, then tell me. What "personality" is there in the main series games?
user, have you played MH? This series oozes with personality. For a game whose premise is borderline grotesque (you're killing monsters, and harvesting their innards for better armor and weapons to kill bigger monsters), this game barely ever takes itself seriously.
For starters, when you're out on a hunt, guess who are your companions, not hunting dogs, bipedal hunting cats. All who purr, squabble about, and run around in panic when things get heavy.
When last has a player died in this game? Never, cause you don't. When you run out of health, you get dragged off by a couple cats in a cart only to get thrown out by home base and charged a fee for their service.
What about the gathering materials? You're in a ridiculous suit of armor with a Anime tier blade on your back, yet you're fishing. And whipping out your net to catch butterflies. That's Monster Hunter for you.
And when you're recovering health, you don't just drink and move on. You gotta flex and let the world and monster who's chasing after you know that you're feeling GRRREAT. And when you're eating a steak, no matter what the situation is, you're still down that bad boy in a split second only to rub that belly in satisfaction. Heck, just cooking steaks is a spectacle, complete with a jingle. The moment you cook that steak just right (according to MonHun standards), the world gives you their blessing with a "SO TASTY!" line from the sky.
When you're taking on monsters, just as dangerous and suspenseful the hunts can be, the game still doesn't let up on the charm. Via flash bomb or knocking on the monster's head senseless, you can make them see stars. With tranquilizers or a sleep weapon or just beating them near death, you can put them to sleep and let them breath out bubbles.
It appears you're mistaken on what personality is. Personality comes from execution; it's not what they do, it's how they do it.
This is the reason I'm NOT interested in the game. It appeals to all the wrong kind of people.
It's Yokai Watch but with Monster Hunter monsters, just a shitty cash-in combining a style and franchise that are proven to work.
Different people, not the wrong kinds. And it doesnt look anything like YW. The main games arent going away, this is just a harmless side story to give people something different in the same universe. No need to get triggered and flex your sperg skills over it.
Yeah, you're right. I was being ignorant there, probably because I didn't remember much of MH after being dissatisfied with the series for the 3rd time in a row a long time ago. I guess that was a poor choice of words. Appreciate the well thought out reply, user. Thanks.
Ohh shiiit my boy claknaktor being teased
