anyone played this? what's the verdict - is it as """"good"""" as TWD?
Anyone played this? what's the verdict - is it as """"good"""" as TWD?
Probably their worst entry yet
The answer will always be no.
how so?
Was OK. You get to fucking impale a guy as Batman.
minecraft and got are worse
>nobody even remembers Jurassic Park
avoid at all costs
Will the ever make a new Monkey Island or Sam and Max?
OP here, what's particularly bad about it? I might just watch a playthrough
I do and from what I remember, it ran better than Batman does right now.
After a new Back to the Future, so never.
episode 1 was pretty interesting
i think there was about a 60/40 split of bruce wayne to batman in the story
i don't read the comics or watch the movies but was there ever a storyline where someone alleges that the Wayne family has mafia/criminal ties?
When i heard the batman voice i uninstalled completely.
Waste of bandwith.
its just another Telltale game with meaningless choices and the usual Batman story
It runs like shit and the VAs, except for Catwoman and Falcone, are awful.
Heard it's one of Troy Baker's worst performances, that true?
>Trying to play as a moralfag batman
>Arrest
>Tfw seeing the outline of brutalize
It looks like it's setting up something interesting but there old ass engine just isn't up to snuff anymore and hangs during fights, art style is really ugly and doesn't suit batman and the voice work bar falcone isn't great.
yeah I'm watching someone play it now and it's atrocious VA
His Batman voice sounds exactly like the Arkham Knight, his Bruce voice is generic Troy Baker.
>sounds exactly like the Arkham Knight
The modifier over it sounds more like Batfleck than the Arkham Knight to me.
>nobody remembers BONE
It's ""gameplay"" is quick time events and decisions that don't matter
*story fags will defend this
Alfred sounds like the fucking guildmaster from Fable.
this
why is telltale even around? they ruin everything they touch. dont even get me started on batman. its like the writers who couldnt make it at EA got a job at telltale and they have an open fedora policy for cringe writing
This hands down won "most unnecessary project" when it was announced. Fans were high on Arkham (until Knight sank that ship), literally nobody was clamoring for a janky Telltale movie.
I think the concept had potential to be good to be fair
The concept of a Batman comic narrative in game form would be cool, but Telltale lacks the writing or production quality to pull it off. Everything they put out looks and feels antiquated as shit anymore.
jurassic park was good m8, Game of Thrones is their worst
I thought the ending was cool. I haven't read the comics so I'm not sure if they ever did this story, but I'm intrigued to see where it goes.
>jurassic park was good
>characters were uninteresting
>story was uninteresting
>somehow made dinosaurs like velociraptors feel non-threatening
>spent the entire game hyping up the creepy venomous dinosaurs
>they show up once and never again
It was shit. There's a reason nobody ever mentions it.
Oh. okay
Money
SHIT
RUNS
AT
10 FPS
It was fun.
Story is more about Bruce Wayne and clusterfuck of his life.
Batman moments feels definitely more batman-er than ak. I want to see more detective and planning elements in future.
Definetely want to see Dent transformation.
I can understand hate though. Rockfags expect more power-fantasy bullshit, comicfags already bitching about bad Dent, bad Cobblepot, bad Batman, bad Alfred, bad Gordon and bad Catwoman.
This is basically batman:tas episode.
>everyone that dies after Episode 1 is solely because of dumb science bitch not letting everyone leave when they had the chance
>4 years bitching about shitty graphics
>they add some polygons
>WTF WHY IS MY POTATOS CAN STAND 4K 60FPS IM MASTER RACE SHIT FUCK
even on PC?
I'd be more interested in seeing them create their own IP for a change. Puzzle Agent was criminally underrated for what it was.
Their games always run like shit, especially action scenes.
>they keep clinging to that potato engine they've been using the better part of a decade
it's the GOTY
if GOTY stands for "Game Over? Thank you"
>Troy Baker is batman now
>The 2 main characters are voiced by the 2 Tales of the Borderlands actors
lol fuck off with this lazy shit.
graphics get outdated
story, art and gameplay doesn't (at least not as fast)
optimization and compatibility > motion blur
i swear Troy Baker, Travis Willingham, Laura Baker and Lightning's shitty voice actor voice every single game. it's like they're a gang that comes into studios and forces devs to work with them.
Why the fuck telltale-haters always make dramas?
Devs used they formula for i don't know 5 years or something you should learn what to expect. If you don't like it, skip it, no one give a fuck about VN shit in steam with literally one walkthrough.
But any new telltale game comes out and it's HURRDURR BLACK CHOICES NOT MATTERS for month.
Long Halloween.
Thomas saved Falcone's life and they became buds
Lightnings voice? What have they done other than Liara?
if it's not her then it's someone who sounds just like her.
yesss
how lazy is telltale to find new good voice actors
>Puzzle Agent
I didn't know Telltale made that.
It's like the most phoned in Batman VN you could possibly make.
Runs like ass, story is cliche and overdone as fuck, VAs suck, etc.
You'd be better off just going back and watching one of the good batman movies or maybe one of the tv shows.
People who bought into the lie hold a grudge. They know what to expect, but they still hate it.
>Who shall we get to boice batman?
>The guy who voices the Joker, Robin and many other major characters in previous batman things of course!
>Oh ok. will we save money at least?
>NOPE HE IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE CHOICE OTHER THAN GEORGE CLOONEY
when the fuck will they upgrade their shitty engine?!
never
Catwoman´s voice is shit as well
I thought they did in Michonne.
Why the fuck does this one run like shit
they pandered to sjws and censored Catwoman
Laura Bailey, while overused, tends to give good performances throughout.
Troy is a hollywood reject who phones everything in cause he is too good for this shit
It boggles my mind how a Telltale game could possibly run poorly.
Are you saying they could've gotten Keaton? Or West?
Oh man, imagine a Tell Tale point & click (an actual point and click. with puzzles and items and lollygagging) in the 60's Batman setting, with the original Sam and Max writers. That would be amazing.
I hate this cinematic crap.
it's simple, their devs are all mongs
how so?
>pandered to sjws
>can punch her in the face and electrocute her
Yeah, lot of pandering there.
>and watching one of the good batman movies
So like the one decent one?
Why does Oz sound like a commoner?
It's modern telltale so expect poor storytelling, multiple decisions that really aren't, qtes up the ass and extended sequences of just watching people talk.
The only upside is that Batman kinda sounds like Megatron for some reason.
pg costume and no teasing / fun dialogue
God damn it I wrote like 2 paragraphs about this fucking game.
Ok so lets keep it short, TWD season is the best, memorable as fuck and so far nothing has topped it, so no it's not TWD season 1 good, but I guess it's season 2 good which wasn't really that good.
I liked the game for the first half and then after I soon got bored and wanted it to be over. Not even the final Batman sequence was drwing me in. The reason I will keep playing though was the plot "twist" at the end, which wasn't even that great but it makes me think the plot overall may have potential. Also it seems to be in a strange new and alternate Batman universe, so thats cool and means they might get to play around a bit with things, which they already are, evidenced by who you meet at the park.
Heres my issue with it, a property like Batman done in the telltale style isn't that fun to play because playing Batman is really only fun in games like Arkham Asylum and City. Sure they get to have way more plot and character development, but when it comes to the Bat parts, they were just mediocre. I appreciated the direction took it with you having some more control in how you approach things but overall it's just wasn't that fun.
I also find a lot of the stuff when you are bruce wayne to be pretty boring, the human drama is just not doing it for me and I found it all boring, maybe this is all because its a first episode but it's just was not interesting.
The batmobile was cool though\
Im also super pissed they don't seem to be using any COOL villians, it's the fucking batman universe. Dent is in there and you obviously know he will be twoface and the prospect of that just seems fucking dull. I don't want the Joker, I mean we all do but yeah you gotta do something else and the batman universe has a pretty good pool to choose from
I pirated the game too so i have zero bias, and for the record I enjoy roughly half of the TT games.
What are people doing wrong? It has to be something. Pirated the GoG version and aside from not being able to change the resolution and full screen untl I finally it out by getting the apply menu screen to prompt I was able to get it, from there on out aside from very few hitches here and there it ran pretty fine the whole way through.
It's not a good exucse as to why its not easy to change those settings but man people are just fucking dumb.
Wish they made it a LITTLE MORE FUCKING CLEAR
I was wondering what that weird outline of him on the ground meant, I wanted to throw that fucker out of a building and ended up sparring him, I was pissed.
But Telltale is shit at art and animation.
the "plot twist" and the plot in general is the only reason I will stick around until it either gets better or worse, but overall, as a telltale fan its kind of lackluster and disappointing.
>nobody remembers TWAU
season 2 never ever
I remember it
first three episodes where great
then the story dragged on forever and it became clear that it was just another telltale game where none of the choices mattered
Go to sleep, Jon.
that's my point. they need to focus on upgrading those things and not graphics that don't run on the type of computers that the majority of their playerbase use
YES
This is exactly how it happened for me, and also for the record theres a TT game where the action sequences where awesome, especially when you fight that one bitch with the colored hair I foreget what she turns into something big and Bigsby goes full wolf, that was fucking cool.
Then ep 4 and 5 I just don't know what the fuck happened, and that ending episode with that dude coming in and explaining everything.. It was awful.
I think the problem was people figured out too much in the episode causing rewrites because they changed some drastic things from ep 2 and took out entire sub plots it seems, so who knows how much it affected.
Theres several scenes in the trailers that werent in the game.
FEATURING:
TROY BAKER AS
BATMAN
BRUCE WAYNE
ROBIN
JASON TODD
TWO FACE
THE JOKER
RED HOOD
BRANIAC
NIGHTWING
SINESTRO
HAWKMAN
HARVEY DENT
AND "Additional voices" (as Troy Baker)
THE "ARKHAM KNIGHT"
SUPERMAN
BATZARRO
HUSH
KILLER MOTH
THE TRICKSTER
why would you lie on the internet?
ignore this idiot, it's okay. It's a Bruce Wayne story very little Batman
works on my machine
first time that I heard that
I mostly tired to avoid spoilers and only played the game after all the episodes where released but that sounds awful
I generally agree that the fight were awesome expect the last one for some reason just did´t do it for me. Probably because I thought that there version of Bloody Marry didn´t look very scary or intimidating
...
You mean about the plot changes? Just searching on google confirms it pretty much. People figuered out the killer or the story leaked and they heavily rewrote it, also problems with voice actors were mentioned which has some truth to it because one characters voice from the episode 2 "next time on" is completely different from how he sounds in the actual game(american accent to wacky british or irish).
Also that second protag female cop that was completely fucking removed.
>all these bait replies
I really liked it. Only other TT game I've played was the first Walking Dead, which was ok but this is better. I guess I like it more because there's almost zero walking around bullshit. They give you the story segments constantly and don't even try to pad the game with what they consider to be "gameplay"
