Why did nintendo include these buttons if absolutely no game uses them?

Monster Hunter uses them.

for what

MM uses them.

They look uncomfortable to reach for.

MH and MM 3ds used them. I don't know of any others though, maybe xenoblade but I don't recall for sure.

Emulators

people were asking for this, next step is making the nipple bigger

how does it feel having stubby fat fingers

how does it feel to own a device for children?

how does it feel to post on a forum for children?

Not him, but I think they do the same as the normal shoulder buttons

Well, it's not a forum, dipshit.

Hunter arts 2 & 3 in MHG

Because this retarded device exists.

I use them in MHG for looking left and right since the nipple thing is horrible.

> Nintendo are so shit at making a non-gimmicky console they have to release a massive lump of plastic with a joystick on it just to make games playable.

They could easily fit another 4 shoulder buttons on there. And a touchpad. And another screen.

i usually just use them to page forward and back on the home menu.
sometimes use them for monhun

It's funny because I was like "I don't need it" and bought MH3U. After 2 hours I was like "what the fuck am I DOING" and bought it just for the extra buttons. The second joystick is useless.

interesting but how will i know if they're charged if i remove them from the touch screen in favor of the buttons

>all these faggots saying Monster Hunter any literally thats it
>playing Monster Hunter on a fucking handheld
I have a 3DS XL and love Monster Hunter but I'm not that fucking stupid. I'll stay to the superior PS3 version.

I never bought the cpp so when I played 3u I had to use the touchscreen dpad for the camera. Shit was horrible and I'm glad I could just play it on wiiu.

Oh snap, nintendrones on suicide watch

k

I disagree, MH works fine on anything. Even the mobile port of MHFU is strictly better than most iOS games.

In fact, my most hated controller scheme was on the PS2. Fucking joysticks for attacking, what were they thinking

I still can't believe that actually happened

I'm more surprised someone modded one for the 2DS

>at nintendo meeting
"Alright faggots, we gotta come up with some new shit to sell to neckbeards and little kids, whatcha got bill?"
"Eh, we take a 3DS and but more buttons on the back?"
"You mean more buttons that easily break like those goddamn L and R buttons always do?"
"eh, yes sir..."
"Fucking genius bill, give the Japs the go ahead to start making these pieces of shit"

...

The new 3ds is barely an upgrade or improvement over the original 3ds. Nintendo should focus fully on consoles because they over shadowed the wii u with the 3ds. I got bored of the 3ds and some how out grow that handheld as well.

>All those sonygger claw mods
Kek

Binding of Isaac uses it too

MM uses them?? They just mirror the use of the last and r buttons for me

because it's a console with great games but absolutely shit tier design

I hope their next handheld is more ergonomic

L and R fucking phones

Monster Hunter(s)
Resident Evil Revelations
MGS3D
Metroid Federation Force
Browsing the Home Menu
That shit was also in the original CPP design, so ditching it would kill the native support

You really don't know what the fuck are you talking about, eh?

I honestly forgot they were even there.

Xenoblade uses them to open map & open menus.

I know it's retarded but I prefered using the CPP just for the comfortable grip compared to trying to hold a square.

I mapped right and left on the D-pad on them

best way to control the camera

I thought Xenoblade used them, haven't played it since release though

>this thing has saved my 3ds from shattering into pieces a dozen times
>rubber from the circle pad falls off at the same moment something splashes on it
>circle pad fucked, but can probably be fixed or replaced with the CCP's circle pad
>to access the 3ds circle pad you have to fucking disassemble the thing completely which includes removing circuit bords
I've been waiting for a n3ds xl to come on sale or for another n3ds regular size bundle to come out. I was hoping for the Monster Hunter Generations n3dsxl, but apparently that DOSENT come with the game in the US.

How long they take to charge, and the loud SCHING that comes from being fully charged.

For me, I've mapped Absolute evasion, an extra small art to ZR. It ALWAYS charges first.

I do however keep the one-slot art panel in so I can check on Hunter Art 1. It can be scrolled through to check on the other two.

Alternatively, if you prefer Type 1 bow controls (or just don't like using the c-nub or touchscreen), you can bind ZL/ZR to turn the camera left and right. I did that with the CPP and Wii U in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

MH3G was perfectly playable without it thanks to the customizable touch screen and Target Cam. It just provided an option for those who wanted something more, or else, plus it was also a convenient item that improved the 3DS' form factor.

You can use them in Monster Hunter Generations

Monster Hunter, Hyrule Warriors, Binding of Isaac, Xenoblade 3D, Majora's Mask

I wish I knew a way to remove the rubber from my N3DS's circle pad on purpose. I'm tired of the oil from my thumb building up and making it a pain to control because it has NO FUCKING TEXTURE.

WHAT IS IT WITH NINTENDO AND NOT PUTTING ON TEXTURES?

>nipple thing is horrible
It works perfectly fine for me. Hell, I'd argue it's even more comfortable than a proper right stick, because it's so small and so close to the face buttons that the travel time between them is nil, letting me do actions and control the camera better than I ever have before.

Just remember to press down and ease onto the edges, rather than just pushing up and down from the outside.

>second joystick is useless
Honestly the only time I didn't use the second joystick was when I was bowing in MH3U. I love MH4U so much just for type 2 bow controls alone, you have no idea.

The touchscreen dpad wasn't that bad, in moderation, and if you made it a good size. Like, when I was in an attack animation, I would use the physical d-pad to adjust the camera, but if I was moving, I'd use the virtual one. It was actually surprisingly intuitive and responsive once I adjusted the virtual d-pad.
