I understand the feeling, but I did it anyway to try to avoid another Darkstalkers situation. Tweeting a hashtag is a bit more lean than the usual capcom test of "buy a 3 million copies."

I'm all for Capcom actually branching out and trying some things beyond just SF and Marvel, but they've made it pretty clear with their standards that trying to resurrecting anything that isn't Street Fighter, Resident Evil, or Monster Hunter is considered a "bad" idea to them. Honestly looking towards SNK to see if they'll take the risks Capcom refuses too. Especially if they start making more than just one fighting game.

What made the Darkstalker thing even more aggravating is that they expected a re-release to sell amazing well when everyone should know Releases don't tend to do that well. A new game would sell so much better.
The game was on several digital best sellers lists, but it wasn't enough for Capcom. Good but not good enough is the worst.
It wont change anything, look at how Megaman Legends 3 ended up even though it had plenty of support ontop of already being a money-making IP.
They say shit like "oh spam us with your caps locks and we'll think about making a game" all the time to make it look like they are trying to appeal to fans/consumers, and then lie at the end and say "oh not enough people spammed us, sorry heres a remake, buy it and we'll think about it some more". Its no different than just making a petition.
They fucked over DmC fans hard with the reboot, and then making an HD port with DLC to abuse those fans that have the mindset of "oh if we buy the game, they'll definitely have to make a new game!".

DSR was #7 on PSN's top 10 for like a week before it got bumped off by GTA4, Borderlands 1, and Sonic Adventure 2. That is not a good sign.
But Darkstalkers is still a pretty well loved series. A rerelease is not always the best way to gauge interest because most people who like the series already have a version they are happy with.
