Is there any hope of getting a good Star Fox, Metroid or F-Zero game again?
Is there any hope of getting a good Star Fox, Metroid or F-Zero game again?
Yes.
Nintendo is currently going through a renaissance, as Breath of the Wild shows.
Is there any hope of getting an F-Zero game AT
ALL?
>Aonuma resorting to western gaming trends is a good thing
Go fuck yourself dude, good lord.
literally none. Star Fox zero out of ten was the last nail in the coffin and Nintendo would most likely either gut what made F-zero good in order to pander to casuals an children or add a stupid gimic that drags down the whole experience.
>Metroid
Games yes, good games maybe
>Star Fox
Games yes, good games no
>F-Zero
Games no
Metroid's getting a new game in two days. It's unofficial but it looks really good so far.
STOP REMINDING ME user
STOP BRINGING BACK THE MEMORIES
Nintendo isn't resorting to western gaming trends.
Nintendo is showing the western world how Japan gets those gaming trends right.
>Super Mario Bros was 2D platforming done right for the first time
>Mario 64 was 3D platforming done right for the first time
>Ocarina of Time was 3D adventure done righ for the first time
>Smash Melee is a fighting game done right for the first time
In the same way, BOTW will be the very first time an open world game will be done right.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>In the same way, BOTW will be the very first time an open world game will be done right.
You need to be euthanized if you honestly fucking believe this.
I don't get this picture. Why is the otter wearing swimming gloves? Why does it have Squall hair?
>In the same way, BOTW will be the very first time an open world game will be done right.
Plenty of open world games have been done right, you delusional faggot.
Let F-Zero rest.
Current Nintendo would dig it up and then fuck it back into the grave by shoehorning some sort of retarded gimmick onto it.
>Star Fox
Yes. Zero was good. It's probably the best Star Fox game to date, tied with the unreleased 2 and 64. It's just too little too late for a series that has been getting shit on since the Gamecube.
>Metroid
Future unknown
>F-Zero
The problem with making a new F-Zero is how you go about making it better than the GX. What could you possibly do to one up GX besides rereleasing it with online play, 60 FPs, and updated shaders, models, and lighting? I love the series to death, but at least it ended on a high note. A sequel could possibly be done, but F-Zero isn't much for story or gimmicks, so it wouldn't be too much different from an HD GX.
Trust me, I like all of these series, but sometimes it's really hard to top perfection.
Name some. GTA 3/SA, Red Dead, and Subnautica are the only ones I can think of. Maybe Morrowind, but that's a little iffy.
>Yes. Zero was good. It's probably the best Star Fox game to date, tied with the unreleased 2 and 64. It's just too little too late for a series that has been getting shit on since the Gamecube.
Zero sold like shit, that's the problem
>claims BOTW will be the first open world game done right
>proceeds to name open world games that were done right
Fucking retard
You're the idiot that's assuming I'm the other guy.
please respond
Sales don't make a game good. F-Zero never sold well, but the games are great.
>Metroid
Maybe
>Star Fox
The series had chance after chance after chance and still isn't able to be better than a N64 game, that series is over.
> F Zero
Only people that care about the series is a handful of forum dwellers. It, along with the entire futuristic racer genre is dead.
>th-that wasnt me, I swear
Lel
You're digging your hole deeper, faggot.
>Sales don't make a game good.
While that's sometimes true, poor sales ensure a sequel isn't ever going to get made. Star Fox Zero's critical shortcomings can be ignored until the fanboys are blue in the face, but its dismal sales can't be denied. It was a failure in all respects for a company like Nintendo. You're going to have to accept it.
There will not be a "Zero 2". Nintendo's either going to shelve the series for another decade, or else radically change the series formula YET AGAIN if they try to make another one.
