We wuz samurais n' sheit

Short, but very good.
Pirated it and enjoying the fuck out of it. Stuck on the sniper boss.
Easily the hardest boss in the game.
I'm dreading the thought of having to fight her on Furier difficulty
Most of the fight is manageable, but that final pattern is ROUGH. I've beaten it a couple of times now, but I tend to just barely squeak by.
The first time I made it through, I was so surprised and nervous that I nearly died on the melee bit afterward.
I fucking loved it desu, one of the few games i've actually finished in years.
Short and very sweet. I hate that you can't remap the controls on the PS4 version and sometimes the bullet hitboxes aren't perfectly clear, but those are just nitpicks.
Hope the devs can continue to put out titles of similar quality. Who knew France could do action games?
>I was so surprised and nervous that I nearly died on the melee bit afterward.
>Tfw i did
It was devastating.
>Best track on entire OST is also the shortest
It's not fair...

1 button masher with boring bosses, dropped after the song, the best boss up to that point in his last health bar gets rid of the part that made him fun to fight and just plain tedious.
I think it could have done better if their trailer making team was more on point.
>I still haven't figured out that the pistol is about a dozen times more useful than the sword
Using every move at your disposal, yes even the universally neglected charge bullet, not only makes the game a billion times more stylish but makes you capable of taking advantage of every single opening for damage.
I exclusively used the gun outside of the parts when you couldn't because it did so much more damage even at melee range
Truth. Charged shot is actually the best speedrun strat for many phases of The Song's fight. Especially because in some patterns you can hit her twice without knocking her down. And in casual play it can end troublesome bullet patterns before they really start. Never mind how crucial it is against The Line.
Yeah, when I finally figured that out, it was a massive eye-opener. It looks pretty goofy just constantly firing while you parry attacks, but damn if it isn't neat.
She had dat ass tho
frogs made some of the most cruhhzzy and nonsensical games, nigga

>My potential GOTY is an indie game made in Unity
lol
It fried my PS4, Fuck those niggers who made this pile of shit.
Guess they made you FURIous
are u joking
GOTY pretty much
>simple moveset
>no shoehorned leveling gimmicks
>unapologetically difficult
>baller soundtrack
>actual replayability
It's refreshing how much of an actual game Furi is.
>The Line on Furier
>After a few tries, get his final phase
>Die with one last pillar up
>baller soundtrack
I really want to like the soundtrack but the random noises they throw in totally ruin the songs. Either be instrumental or dont, godamn.

>Tfw, hot damn.

It has one of my favorite HP systems next to Dark Souls 1
The fact that you're given a lot of chances to learn and can see those bars of HP stay higher and higher later into the fight as you do better on each attempt made it feel challenging, fair, and rewarding.
Might be my GOTY honestly
I always felt like you should get an extra life if finish a round without getting hit at all. Cause too often I'd blow through all phases just to get completely rekt in a final phase without much time to learn. If you've proven to have "mastered" part of a fight a few extra tries for later stages would be nice imo.
Yeah, I suppose that would've made sense. Still, I think if you had too many chances to get passed the bullet hell final phases you might not be as prepared for the final boss, which would make it feel more jarring than it already was
Got stuck on sniper final wave. Literally artificial difficulty. I press dodge as lightly as possible but he still goes too far and runs into the next wave.
Run backwards before dodging forward
Dodge diagonally instead of straight ahead
I had trouble with her on Furi. Then I got to Furier and beat her in 2 goes. The first try I just made a dumb dodge in the beginning and got sniped. The second got me an A rank. Learn to shoot+parry plebs
>damn this game is hard as fuck how do they expect me to dodge all this homing shit
>only learn by the end you can parry bullets
I feel like an idiot
No one has trouble on the first few phases, dipshit. It's always the last phase that's bullshit.
>last phase
>bullshit
It's a simple as fuck dodge pattern that's nowhere near as complex as the pattern for something like The Scale on Furier.
The scale was easy as hell though. You just dodge diagonally for a bit and then parry the projectiles that form the grid for extra space and then just leisurely dodge the walls
Well yeah obviously if you give yourself more room then the shockwaves are easier to handle but doing it the intended way is much more complex than the Bursts's backwards-diagonal dodge motion.
I just got it. There seems to be some input lag. The refresh rate is also stuck at 59Hz, so that might be related. Any advice?
stop shilling your shit stealthgayBR
>Get to ayy lmao boss
>Have to stop after a few attempts cause my thumb is fucking sore from pressing on the stick
Couldnt get through bullet hell phase, shit goes on forever
The Line's ripping me a new bunghole
Its a real video game in 2016/10
But in all seriousness, this game is fun as fuck. Game feels pretty fair in a hard but fun kind of way and rewards you for making risky attacks. Soundtrack is dope and the visuals are awesome throughout. The walking segments were sorta odd, I could see what they were going for, but it sorta felt like a glorified cutscene desu. I'm looking forward to making a second playthrough.
It bums me out when I see others complain how unfair the game is or how supposedly shoddy the reflect mechanic is. Bosses aren't really THAT hard after you become well acquainted with them, and it also helps to sometimes to step away from the game and come back to it with a fresh mind, you'll be surprised how much more easier a boss can feel after taking a breather. And it also irks that those same people complaining suck so hard at it because they never try to experiment around different approaches to the bosses, especially when they never try to reflect anything the boss throws at them to see what actually reflects.
>It bums me out when I see others complain how unfair the game is or how supposedly shoddy the reflect mechanic is.
Well the reflect mechanic requires you to press it very early in my game, same with normal parries and dodges. It's similar to FFXV in that regard in that you have to press way before the attack even hits you.
Carpenter Brut makes me want to fight and fuck

anyone? can someone confirm if their refresh rate is set to 59Hz in the Furi options menu?
>friend is a major cuhrazy fanboy
>recommend him furi right after release
>he falls in love with it
>literally plays nothing else all month
>starts going for the plat
>talk with him on skype about it one night, he says he's been going for the second speedrun trophy all day and just can't fucking do it
>ask him if he just wipes too much or what
>says nah, he's gotten good enough that he's not dying at all anymore
>ask him what the fuck the issue is then
>"those walking segments just eat up too much fucking time, man"
>he wasn't playing on speedrun mode
>he thought you had to play on furier for it because some retard on reddit said so
>he legitimately has gotten so fucking good that he can beat the game without dying on fucking FURIER
>he got the trophy and plat on his next try
I'm sometimes scared his autism-induced action-game savant-ness.
Like god fucking damn way to make me feel like a casual, man.
Vidya autists will always make you feel like a casual
You should direct his autism towards Fighting Games
Can't beat the old man boss, send help
The reflect bullets shit is infuriating.
Anyone else getting a bit of input lag as well? I downloaded the game on PS4 so that shouldn't be an issue but it seems the dodge comes out a little late sometimes. Might just be my controller though
move in a circle yo
The dodge has delay in the sense that it starts on button release, which makes it somewhat delayed on press and instant when you're charging.
For the old man you can shoot down some reflected bullets I think.
>the dodge comes out a little late sometimes
You charge it to dodge further
Noticing input lag as well, but on pc. I think it's just how the game works, which is shit imo.
>he says he's been going for the second speedrun trophy all day
>"those walking segments just eat up too much fucking time, man"
Holy shit
The writing was shit, which would be fine if you weren't forced to endure it in those walking sequences. I just wanted to play the game but had to sit through this embarassing dialogue. Occasionally bullets are too difficult to see because they are colored the same as the background. It was alright otherwise.
Why people keep complaining about the walking sections that you can just autowalk through and take a piss or whatever when most games have a billion cutscenes and dialogue boxes and no one cares is beyond me.
I mean yeah I see why they're not great but calm your tits.
because you can skip the other two
I shouldn't have to walk away and do something else, I want to play the game, not go take a piss and certainly not listen to some asshole talk to me with his Suicide Squad tier dialogue.
And you just skip all text in every game you play or what?
because obviously people expect different things from different games
Has anyone else played the game with m+kb? I might be out of touch with a gamepad but the bullet hell parts felt impossible for me with a DS4. I had to beat both The burst( i think that's the name of the sniper) and the final boss in the mother ship with m+kb input or else i would get destroyed at those bullet hells, it just felt way more precise to dash with the mouse.
