Personally, on foot it looks around as slow as Quake 4 however the strafe jumping feels as fast as Quake 3/QL Maybe even faster than that.
The weapon models don't look good. They are overdesigned and kind of antithesis to simpler looking Q3 weapons that have only few visual cues.
The champions themselves seem to split into two camps. Older revivals (namely Visor, Anarki and Ranger) look more edgy while the new ones are more neutral, have a more passive look.

Champions seem to only be about their passive, active skills. Those are for general use and don't seem to be focused on countering any hero in particular. All weapons are available to every class.
And? As long as it doesn't start the development as a console title everything should be alright. It's once the console development mentality sets in that's when the quality starts going downhill.
