I had terraria in my library for years and never really played more than 20 minutes.
But the past few days I gave it another try. I started by reading starter guides and tips.
Then I played it for over 9 hours straight just exploring the world, finding loot, fightining tough mobs, I am playing on hardmode even in my first playthrough. It's so adictive but I am not sure what else to do I have been waiting for bosses to spawn but no luck so far.
Could we have a terraria thread?
What are some must do things in the game? When did it stop being fu for you?
Jack Ross
Farm the Hallow/Corruption (or Crimson) for souls of Light/Night. You can craft them into summoning items for the mechanical bosses once you're ready.

>OP has stated he's literally only hours into the game >hasn't even fought his first boss >already talking about post wall shit Do you have trouble reading
Brandon Brooks
Give every piece of new shit you find to the guide.
Joshua Parker
if by guide you mean the in game guide, keep doing you. i would also search up the rarity colors, what bosses to do after hard mode (pre hardmode it doesnt really matter much. i always do eye > eater of worlds/brain > skeletron > wall of flesh with some mini bosses here and there like the king of slime. but during pre hardmode theres always a slime rain for me anyways so yeah the king of slime is basically pre hard mode. easy pet get too.
Jacob Murphy
>playing on hard mode Why would you do that to yourself OP
Julian Gomez
You can get to 2 bosses right after start and to another after farmin a bit
1. Eye of Chtulu - get 200 Healt Points by farming life crystals. then just wait some days and the fight should start 2. Skeleton - just talk to the old man at the dungeon during night and cure the curse 3. you'll need a hammer or explosives for that: go to chrimson/corruption and kill the hearts or shadow orbs
Matthew Scott
I says better loot, why not?
Jacob Watson
then you mean expert mode?
Joshua Roberts
The one where you choose before starting the world. Expert mode is not the hard mode?
Brody Reed
thats expert mode. hardcore character means you die permanently and have to make a new character. hard mode is when you beat wall of flesh and can venture into new bosses/items.
kind of confusing at first, but theres mode, core, and mode again. normal/expert mode, soft/medium/hard core, and pre hard/hard mode for in game. expert characters still have pre hard mode and hard mode
Tyler Diaz
>want to start a server to play with Sup Forums from scratch >there's always one shitter who comes in with his end game gear and 999 of every item to ruin the fun
every fucking time
Connor Brown
All you need
Zachary Ramirez
I understand now
First Normal Mode | Expert mode
Once you clear certain requirement.
Regardless what you choose at first the game difficulty will progress to a new difficulty stage.
Confusing indeed.
I am playing on softcore, only drops my coins if that's what you mean.
Nathan Powell
expert mode is insane. i still havent started playing it and ive been playing terraria for 4 years at this point
Anthony Baker
this game is like heroin nigga. i can't stop playing it. all i am doing is digging and digging. i have 90 hours in game. i've just beat wall of flesh and that's all.
Dominic Fisher
If you feel like you're ready, then you can take some lenses that drop from the demon eyes to those glowing altars you might have found underground to make a boss spawner for the Eye of Cthulu (Might need more than just that, give a lens to the guide to see the proper recipe)
Keep in mind it'll most likely fuck you up first time since you're on expert, so think of making a couple rows of platforms in an area you want to fight it so you can manoeuvre up and down a bit better
Justin Howard
So i have a major operation soon and will be in hospital. Which is better to kill time with, Terraria or Starbound?
Mason Lee
if you want to fight with bosses, read boss spawn conditions from wiki
Lucas Howard
bait but because youre in a terraria thread, i will recommend terraria i have never played starbound and i dont plan on doing it, but i dont really think its a bad or good game.
Matthew Cruz
...
Xavier Gonzalez
A friend who played terraria says starbound is better.
Liam Rogers
eh its all preference. dont fall into the Sup Forums meme of which one is better. just try them both (though i assume starbound might get good late game as terraria did get even better late game so you might wanna play both for a little bit)
Noah Foster
I wanna forget terraria and play it again, its truly a masterpiece
Austin Morris
molten fury is king
Camden Perry
Terraria
I have hundreds of hours in both and the only things Starbound does better is the music and comfy building (there are completely barren planets that are perfect for gigantic autism forts).
Austin Collins
>expert mode is insane. why? i was thinking starting a small expect world with fullgear after beat the moon lord
Jordan Scott
For the most part, bosses do not spawn on their own, and the best way to get them to spawn is through summon items, or meeting curtain requirements
The suspicious looking eye is a common find in chests and spawns one of the easiest bosses in the game and only works at night. Other summon items can be crafted at demon alters (Or the crimson equivalent.)
The next main boss is either the Destroyer of Worlds or The Brain of Cthulhu, which can be summoned by going into the corruption or crimson and destroying 3 shadow orbs. (Destroying these will also give the chance for a meteorite to land, and a goblin invasion to occur)
Justin Cook
>not starting with a fresh character fucking end yourself. if you start from scratch you will actually have to pay attention because the game gets insanely hard. its expert mode for a reason. if you start with gear, you shouldnt be allowed to play
Carson Parker
It says better loot, but in reality there are only a few new items added to the already massive amount, plus, these items only drop from bosses I think.
Expert mode is quite a bit harder than regular, enemies have more health, health regens slower, and bosses have new attacks and different AI.
I have over 350 hours on this game since 2011, and I havent completed expert mode, maybe I am just shit, but either way, goo luck
Michael Sullivan
>When did it stop being fu for you? It didn't. I cleared the game several times now and yet I still keep coming back to it like it's fucking crack. Even if you dont give a shit about building you can completely ignore that part of the game and navigate the map enough to get enough gear to take down bosses.
Anthony Allen
>fucking end yourself chill out nigga, i am newbie. >if you start with gear, you shouldnt be allowed to play okay, call the fucking gaming cops. chill dude. it's just a ggame.
Nathaniel Taylor
I also heard this game has added a lot of stuff since release and all for free! No dlc bullshit.
It's like a diamond in the sea of shit we have nowadays.
Noah Gutierrez
>le its just a game hhaahha xDD Cx
Landon Long
Where's your question mark?
Adam Richardson
Just make it. Soon as you see the end game fag, ban his ass
Grayson Carter
Starbound is good for RP and building online Terraria is good for Combat and progression offline/online
