>GOD MICRO TRANSACTIONS ARE RUINING GAMING!
>I MISS THE GOOD OL DAYS OF PAYING .25-1.00 per play at the arcade.
Hypocrites.
>GOD MICRO TRANSACTIONS ARE RUINING GAMING!
>I MISS THE GOOD OL DAYS OF PAYING .25-1.00 per play at the arcade.
Hypocrites.
To be fair, Ms. Pac Man is a much better game than 99% of games with a fucking season pass.
You didn't have to buy the whole arcade machine just to have the privilege of spending money on it again.
But what does that make this masterpiece? It has a Dig Dug DLC. I mean, I got this game with all DLC included from Humble Bundle anyway.
>Implying ANYONE on Sup Forums was a teenager in the 80's
>Not gitting gud and cleaning the entire game with 1 coin.
Faggot.
What's your favorite arcade game Sup Forums?
I always liked Galaga and the TMNT game, and my aunt owned an In the Hunt cabinet so I have a soft spot for it as well
...
I stay away from microtransactions. It's not hard to avoid them. Just don't play p2w games and whenever there are microtransactions for aesthetic options, so what, nothing is forcing you to buy it.
I also play at the arcade very frequently and have my own arcade cabinet. Yes arcades are less popular than they were but they still exist.
Don't remind me.
It's fucking depressing to get old.
I've unironically spent at least a thousand hours of my life playing this.
If you had the skill you could finish with one credit
You dweeb
There are barcades in some cities, bar/arcade. Usually gross places with bad food and they reset highscores daily. Fun once in awhile.
V ETERNALLY BTFO
The difference is that you're not gonna pay $90 total for the right to play on a Ms. Pac-Man machine unless you really really really like it.
I was born in '85, and arcades were still popular when I was a teenager. That's when DDR was huge.
Six-player X-Men (but only if I get to play as Colossus), The Simpsons, Sunset Riders, Turtles in Time, Samurai Showdown.
>I used to take my lunch money and play arcade games with it
>I only wish I knew how much I've spent ok x game in total
>JK ONLY A QUARTER HERE AND THERE
Which is it?
While the comparison is retarded, I do hate the arcade model. Thank god for console ports and emulators. Nowadays you can practice the games in peace and fully enjoy the fucking masterpieces that arcade games tend to be.
I'll take shit nobody has ever said ever for 100 please, alex.
>$1 per play
millennials ladies and gentlemen.
House of the Dead. There was this campground I used to stay at growing up that had a cabinet; played it to the point I was able to 1cc it.
LA Machineguns is a strong second, then KoF 97
Is that fucking Necrodancer running on a DDR cabinet?
I'm 31, and arguably too old to be posting on Sup Forums. If you're so much older than me that you never had to pay $1/play at an arcade, then you're definitely too fucking old to be here, gramps.
>Implying you somehow managed to clear the game in one go on your first try.
I don't care how much time you spent watching other people play, you sure as well didn't 1cc any arcade game on your first try.
>tfw your parents would never give you a quarter or two to play arcade games as a kid
>Didn't have a chance to play MvC2 until recently as a result and even that was sheer luck
>KoF 97
My nigga. I vaguely remember LA Machine guns though.
My favorite Lightgun games were always Area 51.
it was the fairest system out there, as you only had to pay extra if you sucked ass
micro transactions are hated for giving you something OP or being used to force waiting times.
no matter how many quarters you put in a arcade you couldn't get unfair advantages and it was about how good you are.
I love prehistoric isle in 1930, also spent a lot in top hunter because I had a big crush in cathy and there wasnt a way to start in the player 2 position
There's also carnevil but everyone loves that
I never really cared much for Area 51. Overall it wasn't bad, but it felt like it always lacked the "impact" of games like HotD, Time Crisis or even Big Buck Hunter for that matter
LAM I mostly enjoyed because the sheer absurdity of this big, vibrating bullet hose in your hands all game.
One day I wanna go to Akibahara and play in one of those arcades, they have some really cool shit in Japanese arcades
>New game in 2016 is $60
>Was $25 in 1982
>That's 100 arcade plays
>Average length of play per quarter is 8 minutes
>that's 13 hours and 20 minutes of entertainment for $60 in today's money
So, nothing has really changed?
I wish I could convince the owners of my local arcades to check out what Jap arcades are like (not actually going to one, just doing online research) instead of going the DUDE DEER HUNTING FAST & FURIOUS GOLDEN TEE MOBILESHIT LMAO route
>Implying people are talking about/want to play arcade games when they say they hate micro-transactions
OP is a fag
Hydro Thunder. Clunky a fuck and terrible graphics, but god damn that game was a blast to play hands-on in the arcade with the wheel and seat, especially with boost activate.
I'm still pissed as hell that they removed it last year from my local Dave & Busters to replace it with one of those shitty trivia "social" games.
Except now you have to toss in the entire batch of money up front if you want to play at all.
I always come back to Ghosts n Goblins, game's addictive as hell.
>Solo
Galaga, DDR
>With friends
House of the Dead, Simpsons, Time Crisis, TMNT
Is that Sakurai
Gotta be Point Blank
As a kid the cabinet I played on had regular guns, it was so satisfying finally playing on a cabinet with the proper feedback guns.
How? I beat it once then never bothered with it again.
Metal Slug 6 for playing by myself
Tekken Dark Resurrection when playing with people.
I miss the social aspect of playing video games at an arcade. Online multiplayer just doesn't capture the same feel.
Good old days for me were the NES-PS2 where I just got my fucking game.
no the fairest system was rentals.
you could rent a game for a whole day for the price of two credits in your arcade.
That's what consoles were for dummy.
