Let me ask you this: Can you mod Splatoon to use any controller that you want? Can you change Mario Maker so that you can add in your own music, often from completely different companies? Can I reconfigure my WiiU legally without Nintendo threatening to brick my console, or ruin my work with a patch or update? Things like that hurt.

I'm talking about Zelda primarily, Bayonetta, Xenoblade, etc. Mario and Kirby and Donkey Kong don't throw story at me, so my gripes aren't with them.

See, this is exactly why I left Sony. I hated their movie games. After touching TLOU, I could not stand when a game threw expository dialogue at me. After Beyond 2 Souls, I couldn't handle non-gameplay that was just a string of Quick time events. After slogging through the horror that was Persona, I never wanted to see another androgynous pretty boy main character again. So now I have little tolerance for when a game tries to throw a plot at me.

Every cutscene in TLOU is skippable too. Doesn't make it any less annoying when the game shoves it down your throat and you're left mashing the button just to get to the game part.

That's to be seen, especially when they purposely avoided NPCs and towns to "avoid spoiling the story". Nintendo actually caring about the plot of a game worries me, because every time they do that, the game turns into garbage.

No, i don't struggle with controls. I owned a PSP, so I know how to get good with a horrific and unfitting control system. The problem is that it's inefficient.

Just like with here, I disliked Kid Icarus for the same reason. After playing games like Strike Suit Zero, Unreal Tournament, and a menagery of platformers and shmups, I just find any other control scheme to be lacking. With consoles I get that it's literally impossible for the game to utilize it, which is why I have such a hard time really enjoying them. Not a hard time getting into them, but staying power is significantly reduced.
