Anyone on Sup Forums still play this? Was hoping to find or start a kinship to play with some people from Sup Forums.
I just started playing it again for the first time since the Moria expansion came out. It's just as comfy as I remember. Something about the world layout, environments, and quest lines makes me feel at home.
The amount of microtransactions they added after making it F2P is a bit absurd but fortunately almost all of them are nullified if you just pay for a subscription.
Adam Turner
started playing again myself a week or so ago. Still fun but I hear the endgame is trash still
Aiden Price
Yeah I never liked the endgame content. I always loved the experience of leveling though. The world is so damn fleshed out.
What server are you on?
Eli James
the default one for new players, cricket hollow or something I think? But yeah leveling is where it's at
Josiah Cruz
dem barrow downs
Jace King
Still remember it. Actually looking forward to doing the quests in it whenever I hit whatever the level requirement is.
Right now I'm just finishing Combe and Staddle quests.
Carter Fisher
going from the Old Forest to Barrow Downs was amazing. It's just like I imagined when reading the books
Xavier Cox
Bree is too comfy.
Charles Fisher
Does anyone play on Landroval?
Aaron Powell
A bit disappointed though by how they simplified the combat. It's not WoW tier simplification but it's definitely much less challenging than it used to be.
Jordan Adams
Unfortunately I think I'm on cricket-hollow as well same as
Ayden Wilson
It gets more challenging after you hit like level 18 but they did dumb down some classes to make it easier as well as giving a boost to OOC regen.
Colton Hall
If people are interested I might make a LOTRO general on /vg/ since there isn't one already. Not seeing many players in this thread but it could just be because its getting buried from Sup Forums traffic.
Jackson Allen
Yeah definitely hoping it gets harder soon. I'm 15 on my guardian.
Sure why not.
Jack Robinson
I'd like to try it, but the free to play is so limiting I can't even tell if I would
Eli Nguyen
I actually might give this a shot. I like Lotr and it does look comfy.
Nicholas Brooks
I don't think it's too bad. I was a bit apprehensive at first since I used to play when it was P2P exclusively but honestly there isn't that much locked behind a paywall. The quest packs are the only major thing but they're optional really. Also many of the other QOL features can be unlocked by paying for a subscription for only one month then cancelling.
Paying definitely makes things nicer but I don't feel its required. (Other than expansions if you keep playing.)
Xavier Murphy
Fuck it, I made an account. Worst case I just stop playing.
Ethan Powell
Quests for days.
Christian Ross
>lotro thread oh man, I don't think I can...
Christopher Barnes
The game itself is mediocre, but I still fucking love the music system in the game. I wish more games did stuff like that.
Alexander Perry
2comfy4u?
Camden Powell
Yeah it's by no means a 10/10 game but the atmosphere overall is the reason I love it. Music, environments, everything. It just feels good to play.
When I play it I feel at home.
Wyatt Sanders

Adam Robinson
RECAPTURE ITS GLORY!
Levi Fisher
Should definitely make a Sup Forums kinship and get some bro tier fellowships going.
Josiah Rogers
I think I'm going to get on top of that when I have some more free time tonight.
Colton Johnson
>p2w is nullified if you just pay
Angel Nelson
P2P is not the same as P2W.
Ryan Myers
pretty sure he just means to treat as if it's a pay to play MMO with no initial game purchase cost and there's no issue
Likely bait tho.
Evan Hughes
>make new man champion >open up Bree-Land map
The memories are real bros...
Asher Martin
Gonna make a character on Crickhollow later. Probably a hobbit RM.
Wyatt Carter
In case this thread dies, I'll be making a general thread later on vg and work on getting a kinship set up on Crickhollow. If you're interested, add me in game under the name Chromatika (same as in screenshots)
Looking forward to exploring middle earth with you guys.
